possums - i love that theme!!! good luck with the scan!!! it's so super exciting. fingers crossed it's all good lovely.
kelly - ugh sick toddlers with preggy mummys are not a good combo. i also slept on a mattress next to DS the other day... it was a thin foam mattress and should have killed my hips but i thik i was so exhausted it didn't matter. Three hours we slept for!!!
glad you have your money situation sorted out dreamrise.
well i'm a bit better, DS not much worse and DH is much worse with a fever and lots of groaning. Terrible man flu, much worse than girl flu you all know :) poor bloke.
Have my GD test next week so i hope it's all good.
must go and find some chocolate. OMG i can't stop eating bleeting chocolate!!!
-
Congrats Airline!!!!! how exciting! enjoy your bub xxxxx
Possums how exciting i cant wait for that scan, everything will be fine but i know what you mean i get nervous too! And its not too early for nursery talk, iv already been discussing it too and im only 10 weeks, you deserve to make the most of this and that sounds like a lovely theme xxxx
AFM my 12 week scan is in 1 nad a half weeks and counting lol!! I had bad pains in my stomach and the runs last night, i was so worried about bub but im sure other people have had this while preg. just drinking lots of water. Has anyone experienced little pains in there vagina while pg? im thinking it could be everything expanding??

Hi Everyone
Hope your week is going well.
Hi grub - yum chocolate! yes I'm well now thanks but I think I may have had a similar virus and it went on for weeks, aches and pains, cough, headaches, sinus, feeling awful, then finally I got some antibiotics and it cleared up pretty quickly - hope you are feeling better soon - not much fun being sick and pregnant and tired looking after toddlers! I still need my naps most afternoons though! So far I've put on 4kg's but it feels like more maybe its fluid (wishful thinking) I have gone up about 3 sizes! and my dad told me I needed to go on a diet and DH teased me about eating too many cheeseburgers  Hope you feel better soon.
Hi dreamrise - I'm a primary school teacher too (but not librarian or tafe, thats impressive). Hope you manage to get everything sorted out so its not too stressful for you I can def understand wanting to wait and see how everything with bubs goes before you make decisions about work. And also you probably need a rest!!!!
I hope this doesn't sound rude, and I'm in no place to advise because I haven't worked officially in over 12 months! But I did some supply teaching to help out with our finances while I was pregnant with DD2. It was really good money and I only did 1 maybe 2 days per week! I didn't do supply while I was on IVF though cause it was way too stressful!
Kelly - you sound exhausted! I had forgotten all about the late night toilet trips and I only had 1! Hope you're coping ok though and can't wait to hear about your little men!
Possums - aww, nursery theme sounds so cute! I'm so glad you are enjoying all the fun things attached with pregnancy the shopping and planning! Its such a nice time! I hope your scan goes really well, my parents came in with me and DH too and loved seeing baby wiggle around everywhere, I have found most sonographers to be pretty welcoming so hopefully yours will too.
Oneday - hooray for your upcoming scan too!! It makes everything feel so much more real, I love the 12 week one as baby looks like a real little person, so little but so cute. Hope you're going well, glad you enjoyed sharing your news with family.
Hi to Jacki and mindhugs and anyone else I've missed!

Hey girls, just on the weight gain question...how much have others gained so far? I am also curious to know.
I'll be 18 weeks next week and so far have gained around 2kgs...it's so hard to tell what is being gained due to extra blood flow, boobs, expanding belly etc and whether or not it's going on elsewhere...so far I think it's all pretty much pregnancy related thankfully :-)
aimee- yes, it's a great time! I am really enjoying it all and embracing it now, after such a struggle to get here, I figure we need to make the most of it, and thankfully I have not been unwell, which is a bonus!
oneday- good luck with that scan! it's so exciting getting to that 12 weeks
grub- weirdly enough the one thing i have eaten much LESS of since being pregnant is chocolate. I am normally a complete chocoholic! I like other sweet things again now though (went off them at first). enjoy it
-
Possums: I think the weight thing is all pretty relative, with DD up until 20 weeks I actually lost weight and when weighed on delivery day I had put on a total of 6kg's. When she was born she weighed 3.12kg's and then taking the placenta, fluid etc I actually left hospital weighing less than before I was pregnant. This time around as I said so far I've put on 10 kg's but most of that has also happened after 20 weeks as well. I think with both my pregnancies that everything I consumed prior to 20 weeks was getting completely taken by the babies.
-
Firstly, CONGRATULATIONS AIRLINE! Ahhhh, you made it safely, well, gorgeous Lewis did. So glad you are on top of the world loving it. xo
There is a lot going on in here and I just can't keep up. Think I will just say a quick hi to everyone then come back for proper persies later. Sorry - I've been at a 3 year olds party all morning and am so buggered.
Have a great weekend! xo

possums - my private OB never weighed me with DS but i reckon i put on close to 30kg with that pregnancy... and most of that in the last 6 weeks when the baby lays down most of it's fat. After DS was born .... like a few months after, i probably lost all but 10kg of that weight.
With this one I reckon i must have already put on 10kg, I'm sitting about 20kg above of pre-baby (that's pre-DS) weight atm. ugh. I can't wait (no pun intended) to get my body back and lose some fat and get all fit and healthy again.
but for those 1st timers... you just wait til you have bubs! OMG you feel like a flaping supermodel and you just think you are so super duper skinny (lol of course you still look preg for a few weeks hahaha). It's the best feeling... til you look at a photo and reality hits. but with the baby and placenta etc all gone, it's instant weight lose and you feel 1000 times lighters. It's a very strange experience lol. I call it my Cindy Crawford moment :)
well getting better, slowly. Just had a 2,5 hr nap! and it was goooodddd. but in the last 45 mins I was supposed to be making Ds's dinner WHOOPSY bad mummy. so he's having jar stuff tonight :wall:

Hello hello!
Possums - exciting about your scan next Wed. And Cuddlepot & Snugglpie - how cute! We're gonna need pics on here, you now that right?
Kelly - how's it all going with the tightness? At least one of them has moved out of your ribcage - ouch! Hang in there girlfriend. Not long now ;)
Grub - is it the change of season lurgy or something? I've got the snots too and it's driving me crazy!!! Erk! Hope the rest of your fam are starting to feel better too!
Aimee - it's good to hear from you girl! Make sure you come on in and catch up ok :)
OneDay - Mmm hmmm, the very much anticipated and exciting 12 week scan! Enjoy every little minute of it. It's like witnessing a miracle!
Kaybee - hey there. Drop back in when you have more time and tell us what's happening with you and bub on board!!!
AFM -met with a local BB girl for lunch today. Always lurvely! MS has continued to drop off, and I'm feeling much better in general since starting my iron supplements! Looking bigger, but feeling more tired than 1st tri??? I think the "glow" is having a very steady creep on effect. I'll get back to you on that one. The dreaded Clexane!!! Going ok in the tum tum, but I have some lovely streaky type bruises up and down which gives me a bit of a tiger look - thank god bikini season is almost done! My next scan is Tuesday. I've had nothing for 4 weeks - not even a heartbeat monitor. So hoping the growing bulge is all looking good in there - everything is crossed!!!
Have a great weekend girlies!!!!

Hi again,
Mindhugs - how exciting - another scan. I'm sure everything is going just fine in there. It's still the biggest relief when you see bub and the little beating heart though, isn't it. How nice to meet real life BB people too!
Cindy, I mean grub. I can't remember feeling like a supermodel, more like a ballon that has been stretched and popped, but I'll look at it differently this time round after reading your take on things. Always so positive!
Possums - I'm 20 weeks and I think I;ve probably put on 2 or 3 kilos - most of it in the first few weeks when I had to eat constantly to keep the nasuea away. I think with DS I put on about 8kg all up. I already know I'll be fatter this time - not as much time to go for walks or to yoga with DS around. My boobs were much bigger last time. They don't seem to have grown this time :(
Oneday - wow - your scan must be any day now. Ahh, how exciting. As for the vag pain - mine doesn't hurt but seems to have a lot of well, um, goop (should have warned TMI). There's lots of extra blood flow, so it's probably totally normal - ask the doc if it's really bad though. I had the runs too and was really worried. It's not that uncommon, and mine didn't last too long. Hope it all sorts itself out - even if it's just to make room for the next wierd pregnancy symptom.
Kelly - hope you're resting and so are those boys!
Aimee - hi, hope you're travelling well
afm - those first tri worries are starting to set in again. I am just not feeling any movement. I felt a few a couple of weeks ago and now nothing. My placenta is at the front so if I asked a doc they would tell me not to worry, I just hope it's all ok. I still don't look pregnant, even though nothing fits. I just look chubby. None of that bothers me though, as long as bub is ok in there - give me a sign little one! Next midwife appointment is about a week and a half away.
Anyway, need to have a little nanna nap for 2 minutes. Take care
-
oneday - kaybee reminded me i didn't answer your Q. Yep i get stabbing sort of pains in my girl bits. and generally they are swollen (heat and extra blood flow i think). With DS I bought men's undies in a big size... for their ball room  and found it much more comfortable. geez pregnancy is soooo glamorous!!!
kaybee - i hope you feel some more kicks soon. but with this preg i didn't feel kicks til 21 weeks or so, so maybe bub just ain't booting you hard enough yet? i think between 12weeks and when the movement starts is the worst time. no appoints and no scans and no movment!
good luck MH and Possums on your scans this week (they are this week?). :)
gotta run my toad of a 15 month old has decided to cry instead of have his sleep today. think he's got the lurgy that attacked me and DH :(

Hi everyone,
TMI warning... I'm wondering if any of you have had thrush and how long it took to clear up? I've never had thrush before but yesterday I started getting the most incredible itching and burning down there. I went to the Dr today and she took a swab to confirm but said she thinks it is thrush (which is apparently common in pregnancy) and I'll find out for sure in a few days. In the meantime I am on canestan cream. Dr said I can't take the tablets bc they aren't safe in pregnancy. I can't believe how much it hurts... I've been struggling to not cry from the pain. Apparently it is extremely red an swollen down there - though no discharge.
So anyone who has had thrush before is it always this painful and how long did it take for the cream to take the pain away?
Thanks
Lori

DR: Ouchy is all I can say. I'm lucky to have never sufferred from it but it is very prevelant in pregnant women. All I can say is NATURAL YOGURT, doesn't sound appealing but it helps and is soothing as well. I hope it clears up soon for you.

Hi everyone
dreamrise - oh no, I had thrush with DD1 and I didn't know what it was for ages but was terribly painful!!! I found the cream cleared it up really quickly, a few days maybe until it eased and then a few more til it was completely gone. With my last few pregnancies I have been drinking cranberry juice (bitter at first but am used to it now) and haven't had any since. I know the cranberry is good for keeping urinary tract infections away but not sure if it helps thrush? Hope it clears up quickly though!
possums - hope your scan goes well tomorrow (i think?) and you enjoy seeing bub!
Mindhugs - hope your scan goes well tomorrow too! I hate the month long wait, but am sure you will enjoy seeing bub!
Kaybee - I know, not at that nice round baby looking tummy stage yet just the tubby tummy kind of stage. Hope you feel some more kicks soon, so reassuring when they are moving!
Grub17 - hope DS is feeling better soon! lol re: undies
Oneday - I forgot to mention I also get the stabbing pains intermittently too! But nothing too serious and they wore off after a few weeks. Hope your appointment goes well....
Nothing new for me just excited/nervous about scan on Friday - but now am feeling more nauseated again and have had an upset stomach after eating.....I'm still freaked out about everything I eat! I'm desperate for chinese but too frightened. Does anyone have any foods that they avoid (apart from the obvious listeria foods listed on all the government websites)?
-
Oh dreamwise that sounds horrible i hope it clears up soon for you xxx
Amy how far are you? Im the same with food i went to my brother in laws wedding on the weekend and it was all finger food, prawns, oysters, and lots of other unsafe foods so my DH asked them to make me some hot chips as i was too paranoid to eat anything, i think everyone thinks im over reacting but im not risking it.
-
Hi everyone,
Hope all the girls who are having scans soon get good news from them. Mine is still 2 weeks away.
Kelly - glad to hear the twins are still hanging in there. How many more days before you can relax and know that if they come they will still be ok to be born at Ballarat? A friend of a friend is currently pregnant (was due 2 days ago). She lives in Bacchus Marsh but apparently as she is a very large woman she was told to go to Ballarat for the birth as the nearest hospital could not handle it as she is considered higher risk. My friend (who lives in Ballarat) has been anxiously waiting by the phone to hear when she goes into labour and is excited that she will be coming here to give birth.
AFM: I'm still a little sore and itchy down there but it has cleared up heaps. I'm so relieved. Hopefully by tomorrow I will be pretty much back to normal. I was also told yoghurt is a good idea so will try to buy some more today (had some last night and this morning). I have today off work as I told the mother of the kids I look after that I was sick and couldn't have them. She acted ****ed off with me and tried to pressure me to have the kids (without even knowing what was wrong with me - I mean for all she knows it could have been something contagious and would she really want to risk her kids getting sick!!! she never even asked me what was wrong). I told her I was in alot of pain so not only was it not good for me it wasn't good for the kids to see me in pain - I told her that her son had noticed me wincing in pain a couple of times on Monday and asked "why do you have that funny look on your face" and I just told him I was feeling a little bit sick. And I thought I had done such a good job of hiding how much pain I was in. I didn't know how long it would take to feel better so thought it best to not work Tuesday. I rang her as soon as I got out of the Dr's (2.30 Monday) so gave her as much notice as possible. This of course means I don't get paid. Anyway I'm glad I don't have the kids today as I have still had a bit of pain but think I'll be fine (or atleast able to cope) by tomorrow.
I then only have 8 days of work left.
Today my daughter is sick as well - stomach pains and felt like she wanted to vommit but hasn't. No temp or anything else so hopefully it's only a 24 hour thing.

DD - 14

hi girls thank you for all well wishes. transition from hospital to home was pretty bad........first 2 nights terrible the days better....floods of tears yes morning cos i'd hit brick wall with sleep deprivation, felt i shouldn't be crying cos we wanted so much. talked to friends, asked loads of qs, sms all day my bestie who has 3. came up with a plan with dh...one night and one day so far so good.
we have had a lot of laughs..not good when i have to hold my c-sec stitches each time.
at lunch, i sniggered for a minute before explaining to dh that we used to have a candle between us as we ate across the table, instead at lunch there was a breast pump! oh how life changes.
good luck to you all will pop back in when i can....if the plan goes well certainly ;-) belly rubs and cyber hugs to all. who's next???????????? much love airline xx
-
It's a bit late but massive congrats Airline on the birth of Lewis Evan :)
I hope you're getting some time in your day to fit in some sleep now, and that the reduction hasn't caused any BF issues.
To everyone else, belly rubs x.
Chrissy
