Pregnancy after LT TTC #16

Hi ladies :)
Yes getting closer..... heading to brisvegas on the 7th to play the waiting game. Having all my appointments on the 9th, endo, m/w and OB. So hoping to find out when they will plan on doing an induction :)
Had a bit of a boo boo last night, i slipped on my tiles after spraying a ****y, and did the splits. OUCH!!! Pulled all the muscles in my fanjita and belly and down the left side of my back. Feels much better today tho :)

Wish i could have strawberry milk :( Or banana quick! YUM. At least im aloud milo before bed :)

Speaking of getting close.... ive not seen the list in a while. Im wondering who is still ahead of me?

Jaki: Sorry but your description made me laugh, if you think those pulled Vajayjay muscles hurt just wait until you have a head squeezing through it..

Grub: So happy you got some movement, it is a bit freaky when you feel nothing but then WHAM it's like hello mummy here I am. You can keep the strawberry milk, I'm more into iced coffee at the moment..

Possums: You will find that your relationship will change while you are pregnant and especially after bub's arrives, my DH seemed pretty laid back when I was pregnant with DD (I don't think reality hit until she arrived) but then when she was here it was like "OMG, I now have a family to support and someone is now more important than me". My advise is to talk to each other and try not to put too much pressure on each other as well. These men get hit with the responsibility stick when the baby is here where we have our whole pregnancy to get used to it. Even now DH thought I was mad getting stuff organised for the boys so early, but now the realisation is sinking in that very soon there will be another 2 mouths to feed.

Dream: Don't be too concerned about the attachment thing I think it comes with the AC territory. On the day DD was born I still felt that something was going to happen or that she wasn't actually mine and even to this day I look at her and can't believe that she is here to stay. Because we are so used to dissappointment or failure we seem to keep our feelings in check and find it hard to accept that we are actually having a baby. Even now as I walk (or waddle) around with my huge belly I find it hard to believe that yes I was lucky again to get pregnant, but still count down every day as we pass important milestones.

Big belly rubs to all our other yummy mummies, I hope you are all doing well.

Jaki - Oh my lordy! Ouch ouch ouch. Ha ha ha, your description was awesome. Good luck in the Vegas giving birth. I would feel safe there. And if we hadn't moved down to the Goldy 18 months ago I would be giving birth there too! Many great docs and nurses.

WW - where are you and bub? We are all dying to hear your fantastic news!!!

Grubs - I'm drinking so much milk. Totally into the Boost Juice 'Chocolate Sports' shake as it's full of protein!!! I've had so many they gave me a "Boostie's Frequent Juicy" card ;)

Possums - My next scan is at 20 weeks. What' the 18 weeks one? I really want to buy stretchy clothes, but the sceptic in me is waiting it out until that next scan. Thank god for the Belly Belt!!!

KellyD - you must be experienced at this belly growing stuff. Any good suggestions for creams or oils to rub in? I bought the "Tinderbox Belly Oil" but can't stand the smell right now. So I'm looking for something new. All I keep hearing is Clarins Clarins Clarins OIL. But at $80 a bottle I'm hoping for an alternative.

Hello to the rest of you gorgeous girlies.

AFM - I'm laying low and battling - Low blood pressure, low lying placenta, headaches and pregnancy acne on my chest (of all places!!!). At least the sickness has backed off some, which made me panic at first, but now I'm trying to embrace it. I still can't prepare food without dry wretching - poor hubby is on dinner duties for now.

MH: With DD I only got stretch marks in my last week of pregnancy and even then it was only a couple. This time around I have started getting stretch marks now - which is to be expected seeing I am measuring full term. I am using Body Shop Hemp body butter to try and help this time, it is for very dry skin (which I don't have, my skin in more on the oily side) but it was recommended to me to help with the stretching. I've also been told that Bio Oil is very good, especially afterwards as it helps to reduce any redness in the stretch marks.

jaki- ouch, but yes, a bit of a chuckle too...glad you feel better today and hope all goes well in Brisvegas

kelly- thanks for your relationship insights...it does often feel like I am more aware of what needs to be done before our little one arrives and of things to prepare for once they are here etc. DH is doing his best though, and I know he feels pressure to be a good 'provider' and bring in a good income etc.

mindhugs- i think the next big scan for both of us is the same thing, and it can be done from 18-20 weeks, and our ante-natal clinic likes to do it around 18 weeks instead of 20. glad your sickness has eased off a bit now, but your other symptoms don't sound fun- hope things ease as you move into the second tri.
and i know what you mean with the clothes, i am buying normal clothes, that just are comfy around the belly etc...not maternity stuff yet. And i have been using bio oil, which i get from our local chemist and it's not too expensive, it was recommended to me.

afm- had a bit of a freak out today....i think just one of those things were your head goes a bit mad. Basically, I have been walking our dogs each day and also continuing to go to the gym a few times a week (used to go more often, so it's something my body is used to). I have modified all my exercises, and do less/easier cardio, and also lighter weights, with more reps, as advised by my OB and all the pregnancy books etc. I am careful not to get too hot or exert too hard etc. Anyway today I went to do an exercise on a weight machine i hadnt done for a while and i couldnt remember the weight i usually have...so i selected a weight, went to start, and it felt way too heavy (I think it was a weight from way before this pregnancy when i used to work out harder etc). So anyway, I reduced it a bit, and did a few reps, but realised I was still having to exert too much and it was too much for now, so reduced the weight again, then it felt fine. I was OK at the time, but afterwards, I thought about it, and suddenly felt this fear I could have hurt the baby at the start, or pulled the placenta or something. It grew and grew in my mind into a big worry, when at time, I hadn't thought much of it. Anyway, DH told me to relax and just always start out light next time to be sure, which of course I will.
I had a similar mind snap the other night after I had my first bath of the pregnancy to ease a sore back. I made sure it wasn't too hot so I wouldn't overheat and didnt fill it up too much etc, but afterwards I was convinced it must have been too hot and I might have hurt the baby! Again DH told me it was fine (he felt the bathwater) and encouraged me to calm down. It can be hard when you want things to be ok sooooo much and worry about not just big things, but small things too!!

Awww possums try not to worry.... i used to stress about the bath thing too so i understand. Not so much with the exercise tho. LOL. Just remember your body will protect that baby. Thats its job :D

Also, can't stop for persies but glad to hear everyone is still mostly intact (poor Jaki that sounds painful!)

Had our anatomy scan on Monday - all perfect although is measuring way ahead (although so did DS and he was average size at term - the usual ultrasound story!) But I am pretty sure the FS clinic got my dates wrong and I should be due on the 14th July but it will all depend on when I'm scheduled for my C/S anyway...

Feeling a bit "meh" about the whole thing - I think I'd waited so long for the big scan and now it's just waiting for the next 21 weeks. It seems soooo far away. We've at least started telling people though now which helps with the excitement a bit.

Hey bugs mum my GP told me im due on the 17th OCT but i know this could change so will let you know if it does.

I hope everyone is doing well, congrats on scans and i know what you mean about time dragging, these 2 weeks that have passed since i found out i was pg have felt like an eternity! scan in 5 days!!! just keep thinking, pls make it there, pls let there be a baby, pls let there be a heart beat!!!!! Not alot of pg symptoms, sore and itchy boobs on and off but nothing today but my friend said her sore boobs were on and off all the time, but i think thats why i keep thinking im not pg becuse i dont feel it.

oneday - both my pregnancies I didn't think i was cos I had no real early symptoms. From memory i started to feel yucky from about 6 or 8 weeks hth

hi girls, feeling pretty blah today... bad night with DS and he's gotten up in a foul mood. he's in his cot so i don't brain him with the dvd player, which he keeps turning on, off, on, off, on, off. get told NO and then crack a narny.... well you get hte picture. i'm so tired atm.

Stretch mark creams - buy cheap, buy expensive I don't think it matters as it's the elasticity of your skin that dictates it iykwim. I used bio oil til i did a bit of reading and didn't really think it was doing much... so switched to homebrand vitamin e cream. I got a couple of marks at the end and they had pretty much faded and shrunk by the time I got this pregnancy going. I don't think there's a 'secret' forumla that'll work iykwim.

If your gonna get stretch marks then your gonna get them no matter what you do or how much you spend. All he creams are good for is the dry itchy skin, and then taking the colour out of the marks later on.

Hi girls, thanks for asking after me, I'm still here lurking around. Hadn't even been reading the last couple of days. Finished work on Sunday WHOO HOO!! it wasn't the work, I was well looked after by my colleagues, it was the commute to and from work at peak hour urrrghhh!

So starting to feel like getting more prepared...finishing the nursery...the art side of things, and a few storage things. Packing my hospital bag is on the to do list...I'm sure people have packed theirs before now, but I just hadn't got around to it, but my girlfriend has 'encouraged' me to do it soon ;-)

Don't know about you Jaki, but my wee boy is a Squirmer...he moves a lot from morning till night, with obvious rest/sleep periods inbetween. It's very reassuring, but if i'm wearing a clingy top/dress my tummy's all over the place in public!! I wonder how many do a double take in the Target queue or when I'm having a coffee and my tummy literally has a mind of its own, rippling and rolling while he practices his tai chi.

I had terrible sciatica for over 2 weeks, but that disappeared as has the calf sprain from a morning cramp I got so I'm feeling pretty good again. For those suffering sciatica, a fabulous massage from my wee lady I go to eased that away very quickly.

5 weeks to go.....although, will he arrive early, maybe 3 weeks (don't think so), or late, up to 6 1/2 weeks to go?? who knows. He's certainly already testing his boundries, pushing and stretching. He's started to descend head down into pelvis OB said, so that's good.

I'm still here - have just been dropping in to catch up on what's happening, but have been so tired still - isn't that supposed to stop after 12 weeks. Anyway, I am nodding and laughing at everything said in here, but can't remember anything to reply to.

Um... oh yeah the stretchies. I think it's genetic - like jaki said - if you're gonna get em, you'll get em. It's good to feel like you're doing something to help it though.

All is boring and uneventful here - just the way I want it to stay. Am hanging out to feel some movements soon though. When did everyone else feel them with their second?

Ah, I'm getting all queasy from looking at the screen for so long. Really hope you are all doing well. I miss you all!!!

Worrywart??????? News???????

I've had sciatica on and off in bed at night from about week 8. Massage has been awesome for it - you're right!

Kaybee - I'm 14 weeks today and only just beginning to feel tired. However this could be to do with my low blood pressure. Although not sure how long I've had that for.

Stretchmarks - hmm, funny things. I have a few on my bum and thighs from growth spurts as a child, the same as my sisters. However, neither of my sisters got them with pregnancy - they both used the oil. So it seem to be a mystery to me............

I must admit, I've had that many scans leading up to the 12 weeks that now I am wondering if there is still a baby in there. If the MS and acne is anything to go by then it's still there!!! Trying to relax and trust my body to do it's job, but I do have my moments of panic like Possums and everyone else in here!!!

How's everyone's weekend going? Any news from WW yet? Hopefully she's on the fun side of birth!

How wierd is this? I have a fairly close friend who knows my TTC story - although nowhere near as long and bumpy as many, I have spent several years of my life TTC including a couple of miscarriages. She has fallen pregnant twice on her first month of trying - the first gave her a beautiful son, and the second very sadly was ectopic. She has now begun to try again and has been unsuccessful for 2 months. Anyway, she seems really jealous and annoyed with me. When I told her I was finally pregnant the first thing she said was "Oh, that's not fair, I'm so jealous" and when I saw her for the first time in ages last night she didn't ask me once how things were going or make any reference to my pregnancy at all. I obviously didn't breath a word about it either, but just thought it wasn't fair. I have been jealous many many many a time (and still do) but have always tried to put on a happy face and get on with it. I've offered to talk about her pain as I only too well know how it feels, but I think she thought that was a ridiculous idea, seeing as I am pregnant. I guess, really, seeing as I have lived it I also know too well the isolation TTC creates. Pain isn't logical. I am pregnant so I guess that negates my past, in her eyes. I hope we can sort things out!

Kaybee she is either not a very good friend, or she is not thinking rationally. If that's the case she will probably realise and appologise. Possible after she falls pregnant again. I hope not to much time passes or by that stage you probably just wont want to hear it by then. If she is just a crappy friend to begin with then return the attitude when she does get pregnant ;)
