Hello Everyone
Well we got our BFP on Saturday and are excitedly but cautiously joining you all in here.
Will be back later for some more chit chat and intros....but in the meantime just a quick question. I don't know if anyone is familiar with Zita West but she says no swimming during the 2ww. I am now past the 2WW but only just at 4.5 weeks. It's probably a ridiculous question but do you think it's okay to swim. Ideally I'd prefer not to at least before my scan in 3 weeks time but my son has weekly swimming lessons and I have to go in the pool with him for them - do you think it's ok to go ahead and do that or should I just skip them for the next few weeks. Just don't want to do anything to jeopardise this little person that's planted themselves inside. I know that swimming is supposed to be excellent during pregnancy but why does fertility guru Zita West say no swimming during the 2ww???
A ridiculous question perhaps but a question nonetheless.....
What to do you think?

Kmond: YIPEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE. welcome.
-
Congratulations kmond! I've read Zita's ivf book, but I can't remember anything about swimming sorry. The only thing that comes to mind is possible leakage issues with the crinone! I know I've read that hot baths should be avoided - so maybe she was referring to heated pools? If it worries you at all, then I'd say it's better to err on the side of caution and give it a miss for a couple of weeks :)
Jacklicky - Hope you're feeling better soon, and all the best for your 12 week scan :) Lol at the loo paper - I still have that issue - old habits...!
Oneday - How are you going? Waiting for your ba!
JBM - Sounds like you're going well - how did your gt go?
Not much new for me. 10ish weeks to go - still hasn't sunk in!
-
Hi ladies
JBM ~ I'm pretty good thanks for asking - apart from freaking out at every little tiny bit of pain or twinge. Ive had barely any MS at all - hopefully just lucky but I kinda wish I would get a bit. I'm glad you are feeling better.
Jacklicky ~ know exactly how you feel - I still look at the loo paper all the time.
KMond ~ congratulations! :D Great to have you in here. Sorry dont know anything about swimming. :stickyvibesgirl::stickyvibesboy:
Oneday ~ hope you are well!
Kass ~ wow only 10 weeks - very cool :D
AFM ~ freaking out again - nothing new lol! Last night and today Ive had strongish period type cramps. I'm 10 weeks - did you other ladies have this and freak out, do you think its just the uterus stretching or should I be concerned?
-
welcome Kmond!!!!
Kass: ten weeks will fly!
Loops: I would say that is normal, I had cramps from the very beginning, nearly 2nd trimester for you!
hey to all the other girls!
AFM: well I have had a really rough few days feeling terrible, went to my appointment yesterday and looked like death! was really short of breath, dizzy shaky and hot, had my student midwife with me luckily, she is lovely, anyway bubs heart was over 180 which was higher than last time and my bp is still high so she took a urine sample and blood and had protein in them and she didn't like the look of me so had to go to birth suite for the night. Was told if the heart rate goes over 200 to prepare for a c section! so my poor DF had to drag my 2 year old out of bed and sit with me against my advice but he was so worried bless him. they were so so busy in birth suite apparently so after a few hours sent me home, have to go back tomorrow morning for a scan and a talk with the reg regarding delivery I assume, they think bub may have a heart abnormality as they couldnt get a good look at my morph scan due to his/her position, so I have been a bit teary :( I was going along nicely with no issues like last time and so close to the end and now this. Just a bit stressed but will cope with a c section if I have to. Sorry for the rant ladies.
-
Thanks me+ ~ I hope everything will be ok, you never know maybe for some other reason they couldn't get a good look. :crossfingers: for you!
Just think even if bub does come soon with a C-section - you'll have your baby in your arms! GL hun
-
Hi ladies
M+H+B  hope you are feeling better now, what a scare for you. I would imagine they would have picked up something by now if there was a prob with bub's heart? not long now and you will have your precious one in your arms safe & sound. Take care of yourself xxx
Kmond....WHOOOHHOOOOO!!!! :hooray: Welcome!! so great to have you in here. How are you feeling? not sure about the swimming question, i used to swim a bit before i started the last cycle but just haven't felt like doing any major exercise since...all i do these days is walk the dog! As kass has said "if in doubt, dont" just so it wont cause further worry.
JBM, sounds like you had a nice time with your sister, great that you will have your bubs close together.
Loops, wow you are 10 weeks already! not long for the scan now. Try not to worry about the cramping, its a good sign...bub is just stretching and growing in there!!
Hi oneday, jacklicky and all i've missed
I went to see my other Dr last week and i dont think he believed my Ob's NT result (there was no official computer report from her, just a number off the top of her head it seems!) so he sent me for the scan & bt again. Results were both good & bad....good news is this time my risk is 1:54. Still very high risk but as least its improving! Bad news is i only have a two vessel placenta and meant to have 3...there are possible risks for chromosome abnormalities, problems with the major organs and complications in 3rd trimester with growth restriction and worse case stillbirth....my GOD it just never ends!! Apparently its a 1 in 100 chance of this...lucky me!! I just wish i was 'normal' for once. I know i am happy to at least be in this situation with these worries but obviously i'm so worried for my baby, i just hope they are ok? I go for another scan next week, were they might be able to pick up anything wrong with the heart, kidneys etc?
Have a nice night ladies, :bellyrubs:

me him bub: oh hope you feel better soon and don't have to have the big C ?! grrrrrrrrrr that must be so frustrating but you want to do whats best for baby. rest up and not long to go now. :). x
loops: oh those cramps. we do over analyse things us lttc pregnant ladies that is, it's not just me then. i had strange cramps and felt sore for ages, i still get sore but prob cause of my BIG bely now :0 LOL

Hi Everyone,
Just popped in to see how you all are. My little girl is 6 and a half weeks now. Had her 6 week injections yesterday and apart from the initial terrified screams she has been okay.
Glad to see more BFP's on here... hope everything goes well for you all.
Yogi Bear, I'm so sorry to hear about the risks and worries you know have to deal with. As you said it's great that you have made it to this stage but I know I'd be freaking out about the bad results and potential problems. I will keep my fingers crossed for you that this bub proves to be perfectly healthy... you certainly have been through the ringer enough already and deserve a happy pregnancy and healthy bub.
Lori
DD1 - 14yrs, DD2 - 6weeks

Lori: hi to you and baby. we miss you but wish we were you............... that is with baby out not in..................lol...................maybe thats just me. counting down til baby arrival.
-
Hi Lori - glad you're going well :)
JBM - I wouldn't worry about your test results - I'm sure they would have called you by now if there was an issue :) Only a few weeks left for you now!
Yogi - It isn't fair that you have all this extra stress now. I hope you get some reassuring news with your scan next week.
mhb - Hope things have settled down for you  Hope your scan went well yesterday
Loops - yep, I had lots of funny cramps and twinges. For quite a few weeks every time I'd cough or sneeze I'd get a shooting pain in my side as well. Not fun. Try not to worry, I'm sure everything is ok :)

hi girls
Well scan was awful :( had a nasty man who didnt show me my baby once nor tell me ANYTHING! all he could say was the baby is now transverse and I cannot see your placenta you should have come at 32 weeks, I said I didnt even get told to go until 34 weeks! Anyway my BP is perfect so that was good. The ultrasound guy then said I had to lie upside down! he tilted the table almost vertical to where I was holding on to the sides and couldn't breathe so he could try and get an angle to see the placenta, he FINALLY got it and it is totally out of the way apparently, I didn't get the measurements. He then says all is done, I asked do I need to take the report? he goes no, it will be sent to your doctor, so now I have to stress until wednesday about having a transverse baby AND whether bubs heart is ok, he spent about half an hour looking at it and taking pictures of it, but DF said if it was anything major surely he would have got a doctor. It seems my dreams of experiencing child birth are slowly going out the window.... I am so so upset and have been so teary for the past 24 hours. sorry for the whingy me post.
-
MHB he sounds awful  I agree with your DF - if there was anything serious someone else would have been called in. Hope you get good news on Wednesday
