Hi ladies

Just a quick update we welcomed Angus Caelan Comport to the world on Monday the 15th at 7:18 pm. Weight 3505g (7 LB, 11 OZ), length 50.5, HC 34 cm

trishy: yeah the wait is finally over !!!!!!!! :-). A BIG CONGRATS TO YOU !.i did send a congrats in your BA but a second one won't hurt. so glad all is well with you and baby Angus.:-) x x x ooo

kass: we ALL hope for quick drug free labours but you all can't be as lucky as me. mwa ha ha ( evil laugh) lol, ha ha ha.i am so funny . aren't i ??????????. tights with a skirt or dress is o.k to wear out of house. thats what i've got on at work today .

I cant remember who asked why I had c section but it was a failed induction due to sudden onset of liver failure, after 30 hours and bub being posterior I was only dialated 2 cm and in terrible pain, had been drug free that whole time! I was pressured into the c section, but on a scan they did just before I was to go to the OT the cord was wrapped around his neck quite tight and was stopping him from descending, so it would have ended that way anyway. we were both jaundiced but otherwise all was ok a few days later and the next day my liver was cured, they still don't know what happened!

AFM: I am still plodding along at work, need to get a bigger pair of work pants but can't find navy colour ANYWHERE!! its all black or jeans! so I have called in sick for the pm shift coz I can't stand another night not being able to breath in tight pants and I have a headache too, so off to search again this arvo! any suggestions?

m+h+b - wow. That sounds like a really dramatic birth. Glad you were both ok at the end of it. I don't have any good suggestions for pants. I've use a bit of elastic around the button and though the buttonhole, leaving the zip undone to give mine a bit more room (covering it up with a long singlet :) ), But that's not the best solution! Are you any good with a sewing machine? Maybe try an op-shop or online - there must be navy pants our there somewhere!

JBM - you're so evil! :) I know it's unlikely, but I'm keeping hopeful :) You're right, dresses and skirts make it ok - unfortunately my skirts all seem to be shrinking lol!

me+him+bub- Think it was me who asked why you had a luscs- were you talking about wanting a vbac this time?? I was going see if it would effect your chances of having a vbac but I believe you may be a midwife so no doubt you know anyway!! I'm a midwife also, my work pants and skirt are from Rockmans, the are navy and v comfy and more stylish than the ones we are supposed to wear, don't know if you have a rockmans where you live?? Don't feel guilty about calling in sick, I called in sick for night shift last night and had a nice nights sleep instead lol.

afm- scan on friday, hurry up, can't wait to see a heartbeat :pray:

Saffy - It feels like such a long wait for the scans doesn't it? Hope you're going well :)

afm - I had so much kicking last night - she didn't stop. Up until now it's been pretty intermittent, but when I woke up at 3am she was still going - it's so good to finally feel definite movement :)

KASS: maybe our babies were up together ! :wall: lots and lots of kicking and jumping around
yeah for feeling lots of kicks. i love it. this is such an amazing thing our bodies are doing, growing babies. :happyforyou:

Hi everyone,

Well it is now only 4 days till my due date. I thought I might have gone into labour last night as the baby was pressing down so low in my pelvis I could hardly move and it actually hurt so much that a few times I did have a few tears but eventually I got to sleep and she obviously moved back out of position because this morning I can move around alot easier. It's getting very frustrating because I just want her (assuming it is a girl) to hurry up and come, especially when she leaves me in so much pain.

She still kicks alot up under my ribs and a few times it's felt like she is pushing in both directions - her head pushing down low in my pelvis and really hurting and then her legs kicking up under my ribs. I keep telling her if she is sick of being squished she just needs to hurry up and come out.

My mum reckons the baby isn't coming yet because she still doesn't have a name. I have chosen her middle name though - kohana (pronouced ko-ha-nah) - rhymes wiht Banana so my mum reckons she'll call her that. Anyway it is Japanese and means little flower. I think it is a nice meaning and it also has the significance that Japan is the first country my Daughter and I have visited together. My daughter's middle name also starts with K and is a native American name and my first ever overseas trip was to America so both middle names have personal significance.

But I want her first name to be unique and make it up myself (as I did for my daughter) and I'm really struggling with this. I know what sorts of things I'd like it to mean and the sort of sounds, number of syllables etc but nothing sounds right so far.

By the way - does anyone know with IVF if there is a limit on how far over they will let you go before inducing? I know normally they won't let you go more than 2 weeks but considering with IVF there is absolutely no doubt about when the egg was fertilized etc so the due date is much more exact I was wondering if anyone knows if there is more chance they will induce sooner?

Hope it's soon for you Dreamrise! I don't think there should be any difference purely because of the way you conceived. The truth is babies all develop at different rates anyway, you know? Mine were both 42+ weeks at birth based on trasnfer dates. :dunno: I just gestate sloooowly

Hope it's soon dreamrise! I don't know if it would make a difference to being induced. My 'official' edd is 3 days after my ivf dates. I know my ivf dates obviously, but since she's consistently been a bit small on the scans, the hospy is going with the later date. I've taken that as I'll get an extra 3 days before they start talking induction, but I haven't actually asked anyone about it yet. Hopefully you won't be waiting long enough to find out!

JBM - lol it's pretty amazing :) She was much more sedate last night - must have been worn out from yesterdays efforts!

Saff - I'm actually a neuro surgical RN but will graduate mid 2013 as a registered midwife, tell me I am making a good career choice seeing as though I have never given birth myself as of yet!

AFM - I did my GTT test yesterday and see my high risk specialist next thursday so fingers crossed all is ok and I can continue on my VBAC journey, I have 3 weeks left at work because I am getting so tired I have decided to cut it back another week and take annual leave instead plus I still can't find any navy maternity pants! I can't wait to finish!

I am so happy to be in here again, but have been reluctant to post given my history. And i've had a pretty stressful week waiting for confirmation of a viable pregancy...but right now I am finally believing that miracles really can happen. :crossfingers:

I had a scan last week when i was 6w4d and bub was only measuring 5w5d and had a slow heartrate of 97bpm. The scanner brought the doctor in (not a good sign) and was pretty 'doom & gloom' saying things not ideal and best to come back in a week. They also said i had a bicornuate shape uterus...WTF i have had soooo many scans and laparoscopies & hysteroscopies etc over the years and not once have they picked this up!! So needless to say i've been so worried all week!. So just had another scan this morning and bub is measuring exactly 7w3d which is spot on and heartrate up to 143bpm....so right now feeling....:leap:

In my previous pregnancies size was always behind and hcg levels not looking good at this stage, but i also had bt yesterday and all is still on track. Just so happy this one is looking like a 'normal' pregnancy now. Of course now i'm going to be worried about the shape of my uterus, the sonographer today did say it was not a normal shape....there is always something to worry about!!

Anyway, for now i'm staying positive and sending my precious bub all the most loving sticky vibes in the world...please GOD let this be it!! :bellyrubs:

Fingers crossed this one sticks. Atleast it sounds positive that it is now the "right" size for it's age... so hopefully it will stay on track.
That is weird about your uterus as surely they would have picked that up earlier.

Are they definate about the bicornate uterus, the reason i ask is because I was misdiagnosed with one once by a lame u/s person, cried for a week, only to find out I didn't have one and the U/s person didn't know what they were talking about. The fact i had had a number of d&c's made the FS suspiscious that it hadn't been picked up. Hope everythign is ok in that regard, but even if you do, the main issue with them is prem labor later in the preg, not miscarriage. So exciting about your little miracle!!

me+him+bub- yeah good career choice, I've been a midwife for 13 yrs with no kids! Its going to be weird being pregnant at work actually. good luck for your studies, and your baby xx

afm -scan tomorrow at 1100, was really stressed yesterday because i didn't feel sick at all but today is another story so hoping like mad to see a good HB in there
