Hi everyone else! I've been rather slack lately :redface: and although I've been reading I just don't ever seem to have the energy to post. I'm on my phone so can't scroll back but hope everyone is going well.
I've just gone full time at work which I'm finding rather exhausting already (and it's only day four!!). I hope it gets easier as I've nominated to work until 36 weeks. I was hoping full time work might be less tiring than staying home with DS who is VERY busy and active, so I guess time will tell! Otherwise, not much happening. Plodding along getting fatter by the second, I was measuring a couple of weeks ahead at my last check up so will be curious to see how I go at my next one next week as I feel huge!

Well today i am 33+3 weeks. that is the same gestation my youngest brother was when he was born. this was nearly 23 years ago...
Mum ruptured her membranes at 18weeks, had to have 4th hrly iv antibiotics and uterine wash outs 4 times a day! she was also in hospital on bed rest for 3 months! when my brother was born he was given a 5% chance of survival. He survived even after getting golden staph in the nursery.
Im amazed at how things have changed... If i gave birth now Spock would have a 90-95% chance of survival.

Loops and Teirae - So not long to go for you ladies (& me I guess!) - yay! How are you feeling? Do you feel prepared? Have you go the nursery, car seat all ready to go? So exciting :). Any braxton hicks yet? I am so jealous that you are on Maternity Leave Loops... I still have tomorrow and 3 days next week to go :(. I am not sure about you ladies but I am huge!
lise - how are you finding the F/T work? I never thought this previously, but I think work is actually easier than being at home looking after a toddler! I have nominated to start maternity leave at 36weeks also but wish I had of done it from 35weeks :doh:! I finished 3 weeks before I was due with DS and though 4 weeks would be plenty of time but I am way more exhausted this time round from having DS to care for also. How did you go at your appointment? Are you still measuring ahead?

AFM - Well, things have been totally chaotic for me lately and not in a good way :shakehead:. Bubs is doing well though so that is the most important thing :dance:! Due to a lack of finances, DH has had to go to Cairns for work so I have had to manage looking after DS on my own whilst still working and being this pregnant - arrghh :o! It has not been easy at all and I have a new found respect for single mummas... I do not know how they cope and I take my hat off to them. DH is back on the weekend for good though so very excited bout that. Of course, whilst he has been away one of my cats decided to get sick and ended up costing us $1700 in vet bills which basically meant DH is working away in Cairns to pay for the cat even though we really could use the extra money for bubs - not happy. I am glad to report that our little kitty cat is doing much better now although we are still closey monitoring him... it was touch and go there for awhile and very stressful dealing with it on my own as I had to take him to the vet everyday and bring him home at night.
As DH has been away we have done no prep for bubs and I feel totally unorganised and am beginning to get anxious! I am sure we will get it all done but we were supposed to have bub's room set up, car seat in, hospital bag packed and DS transitioned to a bed by now and we have not done any of it!!! Feeling a little overwhelmed to say the least at the moment... Have an ob appointment next Thursday and I am starting to get a little nervous bout the birth also (I had an episiotomy and tore last time but I had had an epidural thank goodness!). Anyway, I better get back to work so will talk to you all hopefully soon.
PS: We need to get this forum moving again.... things are too, too quiet in here and we have a few of us due soon so would be nice to get the chatter going again :).

Tei, it is amazing how things have changed isn't it? I often think that too - when my sister was six months old (she's now 32) she had a kidney operation. She has an ENORMOUS scar on her lower abdomen, it seriously goes from one side to the other in a big smile shape. She hates it with a passion. If she had that surgery now it would probably be key hole surgery and you wouldn't even notice her scar! Have you finished work now too???
Coral, sorry to hear you've been a single mummy for some time. It's such hard work - DH was away for a couple of weeks earlier this year and it was so tiring, what a super mum for surviving at this stage! Glad DH is back soon xx Sorry to hear about your kitty, certainly didn't need that stress on top of DH being away. And I wouldn't stress abut not being ready, there's still lots of time to get ready xx

Well as Coral mentioned I've been working full time. Whilst I agree it's easier being at work than at home looking after a very busy DS I must say I. AM. EXHAUSTED. AND I have a cruisy desk job, I don't know how some of you ladies have done it! I think it's just the trying to keep my house in order and everybody fed that I'm struggling with. I'm trying to be organised and do washing after work etc, but some nights (like tonight) I get home and there's nothing for dinner so DS has some apple, a banana, and a sandwich and I feel guilty... Anyway, only six weeks of work to go though that includes a trip to Melbourne for work - my first night away from DS EVER!!!
Well better talk to DH since he just got home ;)

Coral thanks for getting everyone kick started again. Sorry to hear that you have had to go it alone for a while now. I feel for you and it must be so hard with a little one to look after as well. My DH isn't home too much he does all sorts of weird shifts and that takes a toll so for you not seeing him or having him around much be heaps worse. Don't stress about getting organised it will all happen and it will be quick too. Sorry to hear about your cat it amazing how attached we also become to our little furry friends.Cant believe that you are close to the home stretch now.
AFM I cant even remember where I left off last time. I'm now just counting down the days till my 20 week scan which is on the 2nd of May. DH and I have decided not to find out the sex. My bleeding has stopped completely as of about 4 weeks ago and fingers crossed it doesn't come back. I've started to do some exercise again and all seems to be going well my biggest stress when I was bleeding was that I would become so unfit because I couldn't do anything that I wouldn't have the energy to get through a natural birth. I'm starting to relax a little more now and enjoy being pregnant.
Hi... I'm still here. Due 17th Aug. Fundal height is measuring 4 weeks behind and I haven't put on any weight in 4 weeks so my GP is a little concerned. I've also got AND so I'm just not feeling the joy this pregnancy. Looking for a black hole to crawl into until this is over. Sorry for the whine...

Maruschke - Hey hun, never apologise for posting how you feel and I am sorry you are going through such a rough time :hug:. I am not sure about fundal height but I know my Ob does measure mine... has your GP given you a referral for a scan? I tried to google fundal height measuring behind and there did seem to be a large number of ladies where this was ok and bubs was healthy - I hope this is the case for you also :pray:. It is so hard to enjoy things when you are concerned with bub's health... we are always here if you just want to vent :comfort:.
terry - Oh, I admire both you and your DH's strength to keep the gender a surprise! There is no way I could wait till I gave birth :doh:.
Whoo Hoo for your bleeding having stopped :dance:... that is excellent news and must be a huge relief for you! I must admit that I am really scared about giving birth this time round as I found it exhausting the first time and I am way less fit this time round :shakehead:. So happy to hear that you are starting to enjoy the pregnancy... as I mentioned to Maruschke it is hard to enjoy things when you have something to worry about. What excerise are you doing? Is it just walking?
I must admit I am really struggling without DH. What does your DH do?
Lise - Oh, I so hear you about the struggling to keep the house in order and everybody fed! That is exactally how I feel (even when DH is here). I also have a cruisy desk job and still find it tough. I have a massive case of the guilts tonight from having bought DS Red Rooster nuggets and chips for dinner.... I just couldn't face getting home from work and having to cook! I did it yesterday and of course DS refused to eat one mouthful of the apricot chicken I cooked :shakehead:! The thought of cooking and him refusing it again was just too much. OMG, I haven't had a night away form DS yet... are you feeling anxious about it or excited to have some 'me' time? Six weeks is not long to go for work yay... bet you are looking forwared to it!
AFM - My Friday today so excited bout that and then 1 week to go of work which is only 3 days as we have the ANZAC day public holiday - whoo hoo! Going shopping with my Mum tomorrow so that should be fun as wellas we are going to buy some clothes for my hospital stay. DH back on Sunday so not too long to go before things return to normal. I am really missing him. So good to chat to everyone again, xoxo

Coral ~ thanks for asking hun, we are good - feeling pretty well prepared, we have the nursery almost sorted, have a bassinet in the bedroom, the car seat is in but I do feel your pain about the finances. We struggle from week to week at the moment and at this very moment only have probably $5 to last us until Tues - luckily we have food in the house.
I'm pleased you have nearly finished work - maternity leave has been wonderful - I feel like I've been busy though lol. glad you will get things back to normal after next few days :)
Lise ~ thanks also hun, we are feeling good and yes DH and I have been able to spend a bit more time together which has been great even if it has been sorting out junk in our new garage LOL! Dont feel guilty - we do what we have to do sometimes and fruit and a sandwich is probably quite a descent dinner for a child. Hope those 6 weeks go quick and you dont miss your son too much xo
Terry ~ that's fantastic that you feel much more relaxed and everything is going well. Hope your next scan comes up fast :)
Maruschke ~ hope you're ok. I was measuring a couple cm's behind all along too and now at the end I've caught up and on par - hope your little one is just a slow starter too!! Hang in there and FX'd tight everything improves.

AFM ~ counting down the days now, bubz head is still very much engaged and quite low so I guess could be any day from now on and I'm so relieved that I can now class bub as full term - 37 weeks :D Oh and getting braxton hicks too and still lots of movement.

Coral - finances are a stress at the best of times, let alone when we have a little one on the way. It must be hard having your DH away. Hope your little cat is on the mend. Hooray for only 3 days left at work!
Lise - wow I can't believe you are 30 weeks! Its amazing how other people's pregnancies seem to fly by and your own seems to drag. I work 3 days a week and I find that hard - at my DD's nursery they serve high tea (light dinner) which we make sure she has because she has a tendancy (now that she has dropped her day sleep) to fall asleep in the car on the way home. Only positive with that is I don't have to figure out what to feed her - only my DH and I... but then it also means that I feel like I have barely seen her on my working days. Ah well - we do what we have to do for our families.
Terry - GL for your 20 week scan. We didn't find out what we were having with my DD and it was such a lovely surprise - after going through all the procedures to lead to her conception we really wanted at least one thing to be a surprise. However, with this one we figure we will find out - that way we would have experienced both sides of the fence!
Maruschke so sorry to hear about how you are feeling. My SIL had AND with her DD and she had to go on long term sick leave for a lot of her pregnancy as a result - so I am aware of how much it can effect all facets of your life.

AFM - well I'm just chugging along. Had a great NT scan. Age risk was 1:50 and it went down to 1:1200 with the combined tests. So very happy with that. I think I may be feeling some flutters this week - at least I am pretty sure. I have had back to back colds which has not been much fun, but apart from that I am well and enjoying my pregnancy.

I finally feel comfortable coming in and joining in on this thread! I am pregnant with my 2nd IVF/ICSI baby. As you can see from my signature we went through a miscarriage (missed) in October last year. Was a huge shock to say the least. After waiting 3 months we went into our 3rd IVF/ICSI cycle and had a positive result on the first transfer. Have been a little hesitant leading up to the 12 week scan we had today but I am happy that the scan went perfectly! Bubs is at low risk for everything and it was so nice seeing bubs moving around & seeing the heartbeat! My due date is October 31st (Halloween!)
