Thanks for the advice re bottles ladies, I must admit I probably didn't really think through the logistics of expressing and breastfeeding a tiny one who feeds all day poppy fairy, so thanks for your honest opinion! Janie, I like the sound of DH feeding one formula feed, I might pm you if that's okay for more info...!
BOC - so glad you're home, you must be so relieved!! I hope you're looking after yourself so you can avoid any further unwanted excursions :) And looking forward to hearing your bottle tips and the info you learnt in classes.
kyra - only 9 weeks to go, wow, doesn't sound like long when you say it like that does it!! You'll have to put a belly pic up, I want to see!!
londonmiss- hope your new tablets are going okay. I must admit, I really struggled when I was vegetarian finding suitable foods/products sometimes. Although I didn't really want to go back to eating meat (had to for health reasons) it did make it so much easier.
AFM - still getting over my sinus infection. Had to go off my antibiotics as they, for the first time ever, and I assume due to the chicklet, gave me nasty diarrhoea and cramps! Other than that, just plodding along nicely. I must have had a belly growth spurt this week as everyone has commented on my tummy as soon as they see me. It's kind of nice to finally be looking really pregnant, as in absolutely for sure not just tubby, but it is starting to make it harder to get in and out of the car etc...!! Hehehe, can't have it both ways I guess ;)
Anyway lovely ladies, hope you're all well and enjoying a lovely Saturday morning xx

Lise.. and anyone else on here who would like too ..

Its Kyra Wolfe and my pic is just of me im brunette and wearing a orangish redish shirt .. standing in front of a bookshelf
Hope everyone is doing well! <3 Ky

Hi all you lovely mummies to be,
Lise, Just thought I would pop in and add my thoughts to BF and expressing, I think it really depends on your supply. I started expressing in hospital, mostly because my girls were on the little side, and had a period of tube feeding, then switched to bottle feeding them expressed milk with a fast flow teat to get the milk into them as quick as possible to help them gain weight. Once they did I have slowly changed over to BF, adding an extra BF each day, now I am almost exclusively BF both (tandem style ) with one bottle feed a night (at about 2.30) of expressed milk. It is slightly quicker for me to bottle feed them singly then express, rather than BF (and a bit easier rather than trying to juggle two). I also then know how much they are getting and they are then sleeping until 7am. I express at that feed, and also 2 other times in the morning. I am super conscious of making sure that I keep up my supply, especially with having two, and also making sure I can accommodate growth spurts. So it can be done .
I know this has been mention before, but I would highly recommend the book Save Our Sleep by Tizzie Hall. I really found that after leaving hospital I was struggling for more of a routine than just 3 hourly feeds, and was previously feeding at 10pm, 1am, 4am and 7am, I am now doing a 9.30pm feed, they sleep until 2-2.30 am, and then sleep again until 7am, and it is working really well.
Belly rubs to all xx

:bellyrubs: hello girls, just wanted to check in on you all and say hi and send some belly rubs, hope your all going well.
big hellos to my BOC thinking of you sweety;)
hello BDT.. give the girls a smithy kiss hun:lol:
-
BDT - Glad to hear your beautiful little girls are going well. You are the second person to recommend Save Our Sleep. I will definitely have to give it a read. If anyone else is interested I saw it at BigW the other day.
BOC - glad to hear you got to go home... you must be so relieved to have your personal space again.
Kyra - wow 9 weeks! Not long now. The first few months seem to go so slow before things have really picked up pace... I can't believe we only have 18 weeks to go!
Lise - I hope you are enjoying your quiet weekend and feeling a bit better. Oh and back to your earlier question I had the anti D shot in my bum. I think it hurts due to the volume of liquid they inject. They do it slowly though. It wasn't really painful, more uncomfortable and unpleasant, and then for the rest of the afternoon that area was a bit tender.
I felt the baby kick yesterday and so did DH. We were having a cuddle yesterday morning just before we got up and DH happened to have his hand resting right over snuggles who gave half a dozen little kicks! It was amazing... the first real kick that I was 100% sure that it was the baby and I wasn't imagining it... I was like did you feel that and he did! It was so nice that we got to share that together.
Bellyrubs to all... I hope you are having a lovely weekend.

Thanks for your input BDT, good to know it can be done, and for twins nonetheless, well done you!! I'm going shopping today so will keep an eye out for the book.
Mitf - how lovely that you and DH got to share the first kick together :) The chicklet stops moving as soon as hands go on the belly but yesterday she finally kicked for DH so we were pretty excited! Well actually I think I was more excited than DH as he was still a bit sad about all the kicks he can't feel but I keep telling him he'll get to feel plenty!!
Smithy - love all the pics of Charlie, she's certainly going to grow up feeling loved between you and coops, and four big sisters!!
Kyra - will take a look for you next time I'm on FB! And saph, that reminds me, if you're around how do we find you on FB to check out your pics of the boys?
Hi to everyone else, hope you're enjoying your Sunday xx
-
Mitf: you lucky thing! DH must have been so excited to feel kicks! My DH has hardly felt any. As soon as he comes near me, or even looks in my direction Cookie stops, stubborn little thing!
BDT: glad to hear all is good with your two princesses!
Smithy: thanks for your kind words hun, big hugs to you & Miss Charlie!
AFM: enjoying being home, although a little bored but loving my bed! Ended up making another trip to hospy yesterday. I was trying to escape an angry wasp that had got into my loungeroom and tripped up a step and fell hard on my side on the tiles. A quick check over and CTG and it was home again. We're both fine although I'm pretty sore all down my right side. I tell you though, I feel like the inspiration for Murphy's Law
I can't believe there's only 5 weeks to go... Yikes! My mum reckons 3 though so we'll see. Finally starting the nursery this week, but bags all packed & in the car & had the capsule fittd last week. It's all so exciting & so real now! Can't wait for our scan on Thursday!
Hope you're all having a great weekend!

Hey Ladies thought I would pop in and say hi!! We are finally UTD due 5th Nov , so 4w3d today!!
-
Oh no BOC that sounds painful! I hope you and hospital stay away from each other for while...
BDT - thanks for the BF update. I don't suppose I'd really put alot of thought into tandem breastfeeding but it must be one heck of a co-ordination challenge! Do they wake up at the same time, or do you wake the other one up if the first one is up if you see what I mean?
Lise/ Mitf - Little Miss isn't co-operating with kicks for DH yet  They are still a bit faint and hidden up my big layer of fat... I can't wait for that feeling although if DH mentions Alien, he might end up in the front room!!
I'm dead happy today, an old friend in Melbourne who I'd slightly lost touch with when she moved house has texted me to say she's 19 weeks, and it's so nice to have a belly buddy rather than bore workmates/ DH/ everyone else with all the details. Hopefully seeing her this week for belly comparison and pizza eating (hurrah).
Hello everyone and belly rubs to all. Hope you all had a nice weekend.
-
Oops - hello Miss K. For some reason, BB told me you'd replied to me, despite you writing 2 hours ago. I apologise - many many congratulations and welcome to the thread. I hope you have a happy and healthy pregnancy
-
Hello Ladies,
Just wanting to let you all know that i had my u/s today and we saw a sac!! Alot of my anxiety has now been lifted..i have another u/s next week to check for a heartbeat and thne i will feel alot more comfortable joing in your conversations about nappies, baby bottles and teats, baby names etc!! Its just so hard trying to fit in when you still have the uncertainty that this pregnancy IS a real pregnancy! I am actually 5 weeks and 5 days pregnant... Thankyou all for your support!
-
Emerald Star - that's fabulous news. As you can tell from this response, I am not sleeping at all well. I have stomach pain, well more of an ache under my belly button than a pain everytime I lay down, sitting up is the only comfy position. Surely this is not it for the next 20 weeks? I'm driving DH bonkers... not to mention myself.
-
 big hugs to emerald star hun your news is awsom and i cant wait to hear how the next ultrasound goes ..best of luk sweet girl xoxo.
miss k.. wow a huge congrats hun its so good to see you in this thread

Hi ladies,
I wrote a lovely long post yesterday (on my phone nonetheless!) and then it didn't work so I was too cross to try again. Had a break and am now at work so will try again...
Welcome to the thread Miss K and a big congratulations to you and DH!!!! Wishing you a very happy and healthy 9 months. It feels a bit surreal (I think) to post on here after TTC but everyone here is so very friendly, you'll be feeling right at home.
Emerald Star - great news on the sac and hoping at your next scan you can see the heart beat xx
BOC - sounds like you're in the wars at the moment, I hope you're staying put on the couch or in bed for a bit to stay out of trouble!
Londonmiss - glad you've got a friend to talk shop with and do some baby shopping - especially if DH is still a little reluctant to go shopping with you! My DH complains all the time about baby shopping, yet when we walked into Pumpkin Patch the other day he's the one who wanted to buy things ;)
AFM - not much really to report. Our new cleaner started yesterday and it was so lovely to go home to a clean house that I didn't have to clean! Otherwise, i've started to get an itchy tummy, I know some of you have had this before - how did you treat it??
Hello to everyone else, hope you're all well and belly rubs to all xx
-
Forgot to ask about sheets - we bought some sheet sets on the weekend but how many do you really need for a newborn??? I'm not sure how many i'm realistically likely to go through... any advice much appreciated!

A huge congratulations Miss K...:happyforyou:
It's so good to see you in here...

Hello Everyone!!
I have the save our sleep book... I havnt really had a look at it yet but I certainly will keep that advice in mind if bubs no.2 is a bit of a restless sleeper. DS certainly was hehe but we just dealt with it and he still has his bad nights at times LOL..:wall:
As for sheets... are you using a bassinet or a cot for the first few months? Personally I dnt think you can ever have enough because newborns are forever spewing.. pooping through the nappy (especially when breastfed) weeing etc etc etc.. so we found with DS that you really do go through quite a few clothes.. blankets.. sheets.. yadda yadda. and especially in those first few weeks it can be really tiring having your new one and the last thing you want is to be having to do 2 loads of washing every day on top of everything else just so that you have something for bubs to sleep on. so my advice would be as many as you can get your hands on :p depending on how often you do ur washing I guess.
Hope you are all doing well!! had our next hos appontment yesterday and were told from here on in we can basically start to relax.. The preg has become so low risk that she asked us if we would feel ok about participating in the student midwife program.. We're student midwives work with us but a fully qualified one sits in and supervises her :) We were so happy to hear that we are such low risk we'd be prefect for it that we said of course :) So from now on till the birth we'll be helping all the learner midwives get some experiance in!
yay just over 8 weeks left I am definately getting excited now!! talk to you all soon! Ky
Oh and Ive put up a lil album on FB with my us pics and belly shots if anyone is interested.. but they wnt be up for very long cuz i dnt like having to omany pics up on there.. similar reasons to smithy.. so lol just think of it like a clearance sale.. limited time only!!! :p

Time for ya'll to move on to the next chatter thread.
