aww thanks guys! I havent put on any weight at all--so Im kinda glad about that. My ob said I will be probably get the "9- month diet". He said most "bigger" women dont put on any weight at all, but after the birth, they automatically lose quite a bit! i hope thats me :D
I will go and find the singlet top I wore when I was 5 weeks and Ill take a pic to show you where it now sits! Oh no, what about my hairy tummy? :crying:
-
LOL Danni - I'm sure we won't be able to see in the pic! If it is any consolation I'm hoooooge too and everyone keeps commenting. My poor DH can't imagine how I can get any bigger than it is now. But I know I've still got 15 weeks of growing left! hee hee.
Woohoo Jane - WELCOME. I just love it when we have new recruits! :happyforyou:
:hello: to everyone else.
It has been very quiet in here lately. I've been head down tail up finally getting back into a working groove and trying to get lots of work finished before christmas so I can relax a bit from 32 weeks through Jan and Feb.
-
Im on a cleaning spree today. My house is atrocious(sp?) and i have a big family dinner here on sat night. I still havent found that singlet top! Haha still cant see the carpet in my bedroom though....Im sure its there somewhere ;)
-
Danni,
I'll see if I can load my old pg belly shots onto C's website for you to see. I was very big too. At 18 weeks I was probably as big as full term. He was measuring 3-4 weeks ahead right up until the 31st week, when it all slowed down. He was born 7lbs 14oz, which is as average a weight as you're going to get!
As I also only gained 10kgs all up, the last 5 kgs in the last tri. And yes, I am about 4 kgs lighter than before I was pg, and I eat like a horse.
Jane, it does feel wierd posting in here the first time, but it gets easier with each new posts, so go for your life!
-
oh sush im so glad you wrote that!!! Cant wait to see the pics! I took the pic but cant upload it until I get to work so gimme an hour or so :)
-
I'll post here again when they're up, Danni! Then you can have a squizz.
-
Danni they're up! Go to C's website, then Photo Gallery, then Pregnancy Photos. Hope they help you feel a little better about your bump
-
-
Looks like mine, Danni! Lol! You'll be fine, girl!
-
Oh yes we do look similar! Thank goodness! :D
-
Awesome news, congrats & welcome Jane. :)
Danni, I had several people commenting on how big I was (put on 20kg & still have 3-4 to loose) & Holly was only 6lb7oz. A girlfriend put on 28kg with her 2nd & he was only 6lb5oz. :)
Oh Sush what a gorgeous pic of Charlie on ur homepage, sound like a broken record huh, they're always gorgeous. :) Holly now looks like that, the double chin & the lil boobies so she doesn't look like a skinny runt anymore, hehe.
So only 7 more wks Shez I thought it was less, bet ur real excited. Hope ur well & resting up. :)
-
lucky i havent put on any weight yet!! :crossfingers:
-
Dan - i checked out your bump and, yeah you've popped, but I think you are looking just fabulous! Yaye on a growing belly! Dont you worry that bubba will be perfectly sized I believe... and you know I have similarly psychic abilities to yours ;)
-
-
Hi everyone. Hope you are all well. I had my baby shower on saturday, great fun!! I am going pretty well just not sleeping well. I have a scan this afternoon so I will pop in later to let you know how it goes.
Love and belly rubs
-
Great shez, cant wait to hear all about it! :D
Im a bit worried guys, last week I thought I could definitely feel Junior all day...now nothing! Everythings fine though...the doppler picks up the loudest "BOOM BOOM" ever :D
-
He might just be in a different position making it harder to feel him Danni. Also, you are still pretty early on for movements, so I wouldn't stress too much.
-
Hehe I love it when other people say "he" :D
-
Danni - Sarah is right. At 16 weeks sometimes I wouldn't feel anything for a couple of days. It wasn't until about 19-20 weeks that I felt something every day.
The having a cold sweet drink and lying down thing works well for me. The offspring always has a wiggle. We have a little ritual now - where DH brings me a cuppa and a sweet biscuit in bed first thing in the morning and both of us get to enjoy it! Before it was just me.
IT'S RAINING IN CANBERRA!!!! WOO HOO!
-
So your Dh can feel bubs move now? thats great! :D
Yep we had a huge storm last night with heaps of rain and still raining today, although it is FREEZING!
-
I can say that i am 23 weeks tomorrow and have anterior placenta and i didnt feel bubs until 20 weeks and i also dont feel bubs unless he wants to dance on my cervix and that can be painful/sensitive.
Danni i hope you get to feel your bubs soon.
-
aww thanks chris! Mine is prosterior so maybe cos bubs is playing with my fat ;)
-
Oooh awesome, enjoy that scan Shez.
Kar, how lovely, good idea. :)
Danni, I agree with the others, it's still early.
Yay on over half way Chris.
-
Hmm I wasn't getting notification for this thread. Bugger!
Shell, thnx about the pic on C's webpage, and lol about the double chin and boobies! ROFL! I love that new pic of Holly, she's such a little cutie pie!
Shez, woohoo on another scan!
Danni heehee on bubs playing with your fat. I used to make that joke to DH too.
-
Hi everyone
I don't think I am going to be the most active member of the thread...I feel sooooo sick. I think the morning sickness has really kicked in. It really hit me bad this morning in the shower, poor DH almost had heart failure when I was yelling out to him and he came in and I was lying on the bathroom floor like a beached whale LOL. It started to go after munching on saladas and jelly beans most of the morning. I am dredding this thursday I am flying to Sydney for work for the day and have to leave home at 5.20am, and sit with my boss all day whom I have no desire to share my news with yet. Oh well, I am sure I will survive.
I'll pop back tonight to do some proper personals.
-
Oh jane, i know its hard but enjoy it! It means your bubs is very healthy
-
Jane - you have my sympathy. It is so BLEEEAARRGGH in the early days. But it is also a very good sign that everything is excellent.
Am very curious about your jellybeans though. I found that if I ate any kind of sugar I was SO much worse. Any kind of lolly and I would be bedridden within hours for the rest of the day. :ms: That continued until 14-15 weeks. I'm fine now though. In fact I am getting a very very sweet tooth now.. hee hee.
-
Jane,
I looooved fruit chews when I had m/s, particularly the citrus ones. They were the only things that made me feel better!
-
Oh Sush - another cute Charlie photo - I'm hoping for a girl so we can strike a deal on an arranged marriage.
-
ROFL Kar! Mind you, my mum wants him to be pope....!
-
Jane my love, you have my sympathy on the morning sickness. I was missing here for a while when I had it, as I recall. It's strange, feeling happy and sort of crappy at the same time. Saladas are good ... I liked the Salada. Didn't know about jellybeans though. Sometimes Twisties make a good breakfast when you're on the train, heading to work. Everyone should know these things.
Oh Sush ... Charlie can't be pope. He'd be known as Father What-a-Waste!
Kar I'm predicting pink for you if that helps. =)
Edited to add: Shez, hope the scan went well.
-
DANNI: LMAO @ playing with your fat. I thinks it could happen in your 18-20 weeks.
SHELL: Thank you. I cant believe it neither, that i will be 23 weeks tomorrow. Sometimes i feel real heavy and some pressure below, so hope not comin now though, although they say they can survive after 24 weeks i dont think i want to take chance.
SUSHEE: I have to agree he is a gorgeous bub and lucky i am having a boy or might just have to fight KAR over the marriage arrangement - LOL.
JANE: You poor thing with m/s i hope it becomes more friendly on you soon. Your poor DH finding you on bathroom floor sick would have been a frightening for him. So hope you can manage the sickness for your travelling. Have you tried blackmores morning sickness formula or the travel sickness band. All the best.
KAR: Agree with MELBO i thinks pink is your colour.
-
Chris - I picked up some Blackmores morning sickness formula, I think it has helped, I couldn't eat dinner but I don't feel like I need to lay down all the time(sooooo unlike me)
Sushee - I am glad someone else was into the lollies, although I think I may have overdone it this afternoon, you know when you think "hmmm this makes me feel better, I know -I'll keep eating them", not a wise move but it does settle after a while.
Mel - I was checking out the packs of twisties at work today, not only do we have charity chocolates but charity savouries, I think they could be a go-er. Speaking of the train, this women this morning just about bowled me down to grab the last seat before I could. I am sure she could hear DH and I talking about morning sickness too grr
Sushee and Kar - how funny with your arranged marriage, how cute
Danni - I keep meaning to say how cute your bump is, I will have to get one of those websites organised when I start to show and have some scans etc
It's really exciting with everyone at different stages, absolutley fascinating actually
-
yes get a website jane :D
Noooo Kar is having BLUE! :D
-
Hiya everyone scan went great.. Tiny is not so Tiny though approx 5lb10oz already!!! I am beginning to panic a bit will have to caht to the OB about going over.
Danni I agree with the others I had flutters from about 16wks but definate everyday stuff from 19.

Great to see you moving along so nicely Chris!!
I love it when you guys pop in Mel Sush and Shell those littlies are growing up too fast!!!
Kar I'm with Danni, blue for you!!!
Belly rubs everyone
-
Oh wow tiny! :D Glad everything went well :D
-
Shez - good news about tiny. Sounds like all is going really well.
I can so relate to your fears about a big baby. Apparently the predominant factor is your birthweight and birthweight of your siblings. So if you were big then your baby is more likely to be big. My mum is 5ft4 and had me 9lb11oz, DS 8lb6oz and DS 11lb13oz. So you can see where my concern stems from.....:(
But I have been doing a lot of work on this with my naturopath and also by doing heaps of reading.
I've come to the conclusion that I should relax. It's the head circumferance not the overall weight that makes a difference. I also take some comfort knowing that despite having 3 large babies, my mum managed with no pain relief and just a bit of gas for the big bugger when he had a shoulder presentation.
My naturopath also has had 5 kids (4 in the last 5 years) and her second (7lb) was a killer compared to #3 who was her biggest and fastest at 9lb2oz.
Maybe talk to others here who have been through an induction to see what it is like? I've heard it can make things more painful/more complicated for baby.
-
Thanks Kar.. The parents birthweight thing is why I baffled. I was 7lb12oz and DH was 7lb 6oz. My brother was 7lb11 and sister 7lb6 so not big!!
My best frind had a bad experience with my 9lb8oz godson, all the medicos had told her he was big and then let her go 12days over before inducing her which resulted in an awful 40hour ordeal ending in a c-s and them admitting he would never have fit. Then due to the lengthy labour she had a temp so they took the bub away for 48hrs!! I guess I am fearing that.
I see my OB on thursday so I will discuss my concerns with him.
-
Oh your poor friend. Isn't funny (not) how there's always a horror (birth) story around for us to think about - just part of the straightjacket I guess....
-
JANE: No matter whether m/s formula or not, so pleased you feeling bit better.
Hope everyone doing well.
