    Drop in Progesterone level

    Hi

I've just found out that I'm pregnant after 2.5 years of TTC, and am a bit worried about a drop in my progesterone level from my Tuesday pregnancy test, to my second blood test today.

My P4 level on Tuesday was 130, and todays blood test showed it was 90. When I mentioned the drop to the nurse, she said as long as the level was still over 85 the docs were happy, but I'm still a bit worried about this drop. I'm on 2 progesterone pessaries a day.

Has anyone else encountered a drop in their P4 like this?

My HCG levels are great, 340 on Tuesday and 1,100 today.

    Any help would be appreciated.

Don't panic...p4 is not like hcg levels..it will naturally vary up and down through out the pregnancy.....as long as it is over 25 all is good...in fact with those levels all is great really!!!

    Hey Alloy
Congrats on the BFP thats just fantastic, just wanted to back up what melbel said as long as those HCG's are good and the prog stays above 50 its all good they can definately fluctuate, mine started at 900 and something and dropped to 200 (which was extremely high) but its ok!

prog comes in 'spurts' sort of you make a batch and it hangs around for a bit, then it 'drains away' then you whip up another batch... etc... not very technical I know, but my brain is not switched on today.

Also mine was as low as 20 at one stage (early on), and bubs was fine. The Doc said he would have liked to see it at 80-90, but I was ok, didnt take any prog to boost it up or anything... HTH

Thanks for all the replies, I feel a lot more confident now knowing that the P4 can be up and down!
