Me4 seems to be the same pattern with ms for me minus the cold. Hope it leaves ASAP. Decided Doppler will make me more paranoid so will leave it.

Silly question to ask but here goes. Is it ok to have a baby shower for second child? I have different job and friends this time but feel a little guilty my bestie and DIL want to help which will be nice.
Greenslw - Are there any silly questions??! I know someone who had a baby shower for her 4th child (don't know if she had one for the ones before that as I didn't know her then...), so why can't you have one for a 2nd child? Isn't it to honour the mum and bub to be? Can I ask a silly question back? I've only been to 2 baby showers in my life, in the last couple of months and both bubs are due soon. Am I expected to buy another present for bub when it's born?

I only had one baby showet for my first but that's just me.... I have had friends that have had more baby showers. I have had ones that invite partners and had like a BBQ and had ones that have said no presents. I don't see anything wrong with having a baby shower. I tend to take something into the hospital when bubs is due but it doesn't have to be anything big. Or you could just take some flowers or a card..

(Again) sorry not been in much! Still struggling I guess with grief about my 12 week loss as I was due on 17th April and it's feeling all very raw again. I feel so blessed to be pregnant again but just wish I could be more confident in the outcome and not be wallowing in misery at the moment and just keep thinking I should have my little boy now.
me4ever, in answer to baby shower present, i would say it depends on how close you are to that person and whether you want to or not. I would say you have absolutely no obligation to buy another present if you gave one at the baby shower, but if you are super close to the mums and want to buy them something else when the bub arrives then why not. In my experience I have bought a present for bub for baby shower and then when he'she arrives a card and some flowers for mum and/or a freezable dinner, but only if they were super good friends, work colleagues etc no I wouldn't bother. That's my 2 cents!
Sorry for everyone feeling so sick, I think I am at my worst with that, but still not vomiting just nausea and bone-crushing fatigue.

AFM: I seem to have lost all of my MS (since early last week I haven't had to take anything for the sickness) and I have been cramping on and off since Sat. To the point that I went and bought some pads. But no bleeding yet. Not sure how I will feel, as I am still freaking about 3 kids, I was so done at 2. But I guess I will see what happens. Appointment next week with the GP, so will go from there I guess. I also don't have the bloated belly that I had before last week. All soft and jelly-like at the moment.......
Me4 I think it depends on the type of friendship. I've only gone to baby showers of close friends and thus have doubled up but normally buy a mum gift when baby comes unless its a girl lol I'm a sucker for pink. Was thinking about 30 weeks for a baby shower so that's a bit of a gap between shower and bubs.
Mel yay for no ms but I know what you mean any sign can make you worry, hope you start feeling reassuring kicks soon
Lyra I totally understand a friend and I were pg together when I lost bubs and she had hers even though I was pg again I was still sad. :hug:
V21 hope cramps are just your belly adjusting sounds like you're managing hope GP app comes fast.

Just got back from the scan and ob appointment and bub is looking as awesome as you can look at 14 weeks 2 days :) It was having the hiccups to begin with, the poor thing. The ob is really pleased. We were getting a bit worried as symptoms disappear here as well, and because bub is not really moving yet, so we were ecstatic to see little one move lots.
Melster and greenslw and Lyra- thanks for your answers re: baby shower - one was for my sister in law, we used to be very close, but in the last few years have grown apart. I have already spent more on her little bub than I have spent on my brother's babies overseas. The other one's for a cousin, who I normally see at xmas and other special holidays. Ditto with what I've spent on her. I'll see, I might buy something little once the babies are here...

Lyra - extra hugs for you. I know it will be hard for you till you get at least past that date of the mm/c. It's hard not to worry. When's your next scan? And how many weeks are you now?

Great news me4 so excited for you and dh.
lyra...it can be very hard!!!! and it can be difficult with further pregnancies too. i have had 1 healthy baby after my mc and i am still a nervous bundle with this one. I hope you feel better soon.
V21 how are you going now? im 14 weeks and i have had the same thing happen. My ms has seemed to have diassapeared in the last few days, my belly is floppy and i have back ache..have you had any bleeding?
Greenslw...yeah its a catch 22...least with MS you can sorta think that things are going ok..i am 14 weeks so i am hoping its just because im in the second tri

My back is slightly better but still sore and having twinges.....havent had anymore pains in my stomach. hopefully everythings ok

Well the news is not great I'm afraid... No baby or sac in uterus. I'm meant to be just over 6 weeks ... Hcg up to 2350. They seen a mass on my right side near my ovary and they suspect ectopic (90percent chance) going for more bloods and another scan tomorrow (wednesday) but they said they will probably be giving me methotrexate tomorrow.
My pregnancy journey is all over I think... Well nearly. If I have the methotrexate I'll need blood tests day 4,7 and weekly after that to ensure the bhcg levels are leaving my system. :-(

I thought my MS was gone bu nope its back today & i feel like crap.

ATM Had a fair bit of blood this morning so went to ed and finally saw an ob who said I have a blood clot behind the bottom of my plecenta and that's what's bleeding so...... Since bubs has made it this far and is growing she is optimistic but nothing is a certainty of course but she said this smiling so :pray: nothing I can do but take iron and keep belly safe frome DF and DS bumps. It might go away it might stay but they'll only worry if bubs isn't growing well. So I'm now a "high risk" pregnancy so no midwife birth for me, funny I'm glad this is 2nd pg cos I'd never do this again. Lucky DS was so easy. So no visit to ed unless huge pain and filling a pad an hour. Thank goodness someone told me why I think the not knowing is much worse also ob said don't get Doppler as it may make me more paranoid. Kinda wish I had my own ob now but this is the path I'm on now and I trust it will work out :pray:
PP - I'm so sorry it wasn't the news we were all hoping for you. I'm sending you loads of love and hugs.
Greenslw - I'm glad they found where the bleeding is coming from. Hopefully it will all dissolve over time and you be extra careful! Tell little DS to give you tiny baby hugs instead of big bear hugs :)
Cheshire - Am sorry about MS being a pain again. Hang in there!
Mel - my back has been sore too, but only slightly so and not every day. Some days it's worse than others. I've been using a curved pillow when I'm at home and sitting on the lounge as it's much more supporting than a little pillow. PM me or Cheshire with your name - I'm not quite sure how to add you to FB but can give it a go. I'm pretty sure Cheshire added me to the group :)
AFM off to work soon, another 12-7pm shift. Can't wait to have it over and done with. Am feeing heaps better than last week, so hopefully can deal with all the stresses work throws, especially since it's school holidays - loads of kids will come in without supervision :$ Have a good day everyone!

Greenslw: So glad they've figured out where the bleeding is coming from.
I haven't had any bleeding yet... I wont go for a scan until the 12 week scan, they are very busy where I live, and I'm not even sure I'll get in at 12 weeks! Will discuss with GP next week. Just need to hope that the funeral I have to go to doesn't clash with the Dr's appointment, as she is really hard to get into. I made the appointment 2 weeks ago, and next week was the first appointment I could get with her.....

Greenslw..i know when you're misscarrying you can get bad back aches...but this was kinda different i think..it wasnt across my whole back or my stomach it was more in a spot..i was just standing doing my makeup and something happened...its still sore now but not as bad.....im glad you went and got a final answer..hope you dont get too much more bleeding...i was speaking to my ob about the dopplers and ow did he know exactly everytime were to get the HB..he said the ladies upstairs would send them down when they couldnt find the HB and he would find it in 2 seconds.....its just hard because the baby could be fine but you'rejust not in the right spot with the doppler and then stress yourself out so i think its a good idea

Me had a good work day but talking to a work friend feeling bad cos I want to share even though my chances of mc are 5% I'm still soo scared to share. Made a scan app for next Thursday to measure clot and baby. Bleeding hasn't slowed just more even not big in the am then nothing in the arvo had some abdo pain but it was not baby but the effects of iron tablets seems 2L is not enough maybe prune juice. Was hoping not to scan bubs again as I'm sure it's not good but need to know what's going on too. It seems clots either bleed out or get absorbed so I guess mine is a bleeder. Only a week till scan then another 4 days till I see GP
