Well, the stress train continues. I slept 12hrs last night then 2hrs this afternoon so the GP checked my blood test results from when I first fell pregnant & discovered I was low in iron back then - combine my fatigue with the breathlessness I'm experiencing & she's confident I have a deficiency & is worried about anaemia. My lack of weight gain, no movement & the fact my boobs are smaller & my jeans are becoming loose means that I get to have my morph scan on Friday due to the GP being concerned baby's not developing properly.
I had more BT's today & have a medical certificate for the rest of the week so I can rest.
DP seems to be taking it hard, he had tears in his eyes tonight when we talked about it. I'm just flat.
I didn't get to listen to bubs heartbeat as there was no doppler in the Dr's office.
Have decided that whatever happens this is my last pregnancy. I cannot handle to constant roller coaster of stress & worry.
-
Ticktoc - I really hope the scan goes well. I wish I were near you cos then I'd bring my doppler over. Was SO reassuring to be able to use it earlier in pregnancy when I couldn't feel bub or be able to provoke bub to move basically at my will. Good thing is, with deficiencies, you are mostly affected and all your reserves go to supporting the lil one. Good it is picked up now though as obviously it can still affect bub, sadly sometimes the body also goes into premature labour if it believes that it isn't able to sustain both Mum and bub enough. Have you started on iron supplements yet or does she want to wait till the results are in? When taking them, try to do so with vit-c and avoid dairy for an hour or so either side of taking it, that includes butter/milk/cream in mash if taking in the evening when eating your meat. Adding spring onion to the mash helps the taste and adding spinach helps with iron (I use frozen in lots of our cooking as lil man is at risk due to his allergies) oh and after a meal with iron, or even with iron tablets, a nice slice of orange is fantastic, helps absorb the iron into the body and aids digestion in general. I really hope that your little one makes it and is growing well, just hidden in there like lil Miss was.
-
Thanks damprye, I wish I could use your doppler too! :)
The doc told me to take the tablets in the morning with orange juice but I didn't really understand the reasoning behind taking them together so thank you for clarifying. So now I'm on iron, vit D, fish oil & elevate (?) - glad I'm not someone who struggles to swallow tablets. Will start the iron tomorrow, she has given me a script for Ferro-tab 350mg (or was it 310mg?) but I've just found some Ferro-tab 200mg in the cupboard so should I take two 200mg & save some money or get the ones she's written out?
I'm sure everything will be ok, just another stress of being a mother/parent.
-
It depends on how old they are. Over a year old or past use by date (should say which to use on the pack), don't use them, otherwise go ahead :) I was on those and have some in my cupboard still lol. I do a clean out and pharmacy run every 6ish months to dispose of old medicines.
-
I had another look & they're still within date but I realised the ones the doc wants me to have are Ferro-f-tab, F for folate so I'll be compliant & fill the script.
-
In so much pain today, I've been crying off and on most the day. My poor pelvis/hips/back/vagina/bottom/belly. Been getting BH/CTX since 11am and slept on the couch last night (after I came down to pee and couldn't get back upstairs). I *want* this to be it because of the pain but I'm not ready.
-
Big hugs damprye, I don't know what to say xxx
-
Just quickly (DP is taking me out for lunch) Bub is fine, safely tucked in & developing to dates. The placenta is anterior which explains the lack of movement & HB was 144 :)
Huge relief!! :)

TickTic, mine is also Anterior but this week I am getting a lot more feeling and movement. 25 weeks - I am glad to hear all is ok and you have some answers xx
-
Ticktoc- That's awesome :) :happydance:
AFM- Pre labour seems to have started. 8min apart painful ctx when active, 15min apart ctx not as painful ctx when resting 2.5cm dilated, body has had a flush out, plug is long gone and I'm more nauseous. Now lets see how many days/weeks this pre labour lasts...
-
I hope it doesn't last too long damprye, you've been through so much already.
Kbudgie does an anterior mean a different birthing experience? I know DD was stuck & it took a long time to get her out so I'm wondering if maybe she was posterior & am worried this bub will be too. Damn google giving me nightmares lol.
I feel much better today knowing bubs is ok & just tucked away in the back for safe keeping. Energy wise I'm still crap & am wondering how I'm going to go back at work next week. I got puffed & lightheaded today just stripping my bed & carrying the linen to the laundry. This baby is definitely taking it's toll on me & I'm not even half way. But now I know what we're having (cheeky :)) it makes it easier to excuse bubs treatment on it's poor ol' mama. Not ready to share just yet, enjoying the secret & having time to ourselves with "it" before the world knows. I'll probably be the same after the birth, not announce it until I'm ready to share :) Shopping was fun today though........ :D
-
as far as I know no effect on birth. Just that is at the front. previa (sp?) is the one that can get in the way I think
-
Hi ladies sorry been Mia busy with work and ds. Finished full time work yesterday now two days a week for 4 more weeks then mini holiday. Baby is finally head down dr still talking cs but having scan to check size 24/9.
Sorry to hear pg is still stressful tic toc.
Damprye my thoughts are with you.
How are you kbudgie on leave yet?
-
Hi greenslw, glad to hear you're no longer working f/t, it must be lovely to have some time to yourself :) Jealous!
-
Tic toc my first day to myself is Tuesday I can't wait. When will you go on leave?
-
only leave I had is sick leave Thanks to my cold! I should be done by end of november, seems ages :(
-
I was planning on working through til 36wks (mid Jan) but if baby keeps taking all my energy it maybe Christmas. As of last week I have no sick leave so will have to use annual leave /ADO's whenever I need a break
-
Kbudgie will you be full time till then?
Tic toc Xmas sounds good to me.
Well my first "day off" was running around like a crazy lady getting stuff for baby shower. I'm tireder than if I worked!
Picked ds up at day care to see him showing another boy his bottom :wall: apparently the other child asked I was horrified thank goodness the cater said she would say something or I may have gone bananas. Supervision! Then he proceeded to tell me another boy said f head today when I calmly said " that is not a nice thing to say please don't say it again" he missed the point and after about 5 more times df needed to take over as I was loosing my cool. Tuesdays seem to be the day for more "colourful" children at his centre, thinking I'll pull him out Tuesdays and just keep Wednesdays. So much for time to myself but can't relax if I'm worrying. Being a mum is hard!
-
all being well ft until I stop work
-
Something feels wrong and I'm not sure what to do. I'm really worried about baby as she isn't moving and something just feels "off". Not sure if I should head in to the hossy at this time of night or not. DP is over so the kids will be ok for a lil while but if something is wrong, I'm not sure what will happen when DP needs to go to work. I feel so lost and it's so late. I know with DS1 I had a feeling of dread and went in but I felt so stupid....but what if? I'm so afraid of losing my baby now after everything we have been through.
-
Sneaks in... If you feel like something isn't right please go to the hospital. Better to feel silly when everything is fine than not get your fears checked out.
Go now if you can. I would.
Sneaks out.
-
How are you this morning damprye? Did you go in & get checked?
I agree, trust your gut. She's your baby, you know what's normal & what's not.
Hugs Hun xxx
-
I'm going in as soon as I am child free
-
Fingers crossed, will be thinking of you & stalking for news.
-
Thinking of you dampyre xx
-
Bub went wild within moments of starting the CTG :D
Bad news (likely why I had that feeling) was that when I got home, my house had been ransacked and I had a few thousand dollars worth of items stolen :/
My pre-labour signs halted for most the day due to the stress of it all but seems to be back now I've calmed heaps but all irregular.
-
Oh Dampyre, wish the universe would cut you a break. Glad bub is ok but so sorry about your house! What a nightmare!!
-
Thanks. My body isn't liking the stress. Back at mine to let forensics through and clean up the mess and that stopped everything again. I believe it to be my body's protective response. Unsafe environment so body in fight mode. Others go into flight mode and deliver. Now why can't that be me. My house can then be left "as is" for a few days and the boys can be looked after. Less likely to be broken into whilst being here and pregnant still that way
-
Just quickly.
Boo was born yesterday at 34wks after PROM.
He's doing fantastic & hoping he is home within 2 wks :)
-
Congrats Cheshire! Glad to hear he's doing well. Hope you get him home soon xxx
-
gee dampyre you are really copping some right now, I hope things turn around soon x
cheshire congrats on bub, sounds like all is well xxx

Cervix elongation has gone from 2cm left to 4.3 and dilation from 2.5 to 1.5 thanks to my body not feeling safe enough. Looks like she will be holding on for a few more weeks after all. Hopefully will still avoid induction and trying to be positive about it. Sadly though, I no longer believe she will be born by Monday but I will be ok with that....sooner or later lol.
How is everyone else going?
-
I guess if she's ok in there damprye then she'll be alright staying in for a few more weeks? Hopefully by then the stress of the house stuff will have died off & you can concentrate on bringing your girl into the world. I know that doesn't ease your discomfort though.
I'm good, iron tablets have made me feel a lot better & my tummy is definitely starting to round out & looks less "blobby" & more baby bump lol. Still no real movement /kicks being felt - kick baby, kick! Maybe bub just has too much room in there? (DD stretched the hell out of me) Or maybe there's just too much padding :D
-
I'm done! Demanding induction date tomorrow and they can give me some damn good ****ing painkillers for the mean time!
-
-
Thanks. I'm see him in 20ish mins and have not changed my mind
-
Eviction is being booked. Not too thrilled about doing that to my lil Miss, I would prefer natural but the thieves ruined that one for us. S&S has been done and will *hopefully* mean induction won't be needed but I find out today when that will be booked in. OB agreed though, she needs to come out ASAP as she isn't doing so well herself and well, I am obviously not coping. I walked in ready to discuss an induction but before I could, I just started bawling my eyes out. Not my finest moment.
-
Hugs damprye - you have done a fantastic job growing your little girl, allow yourself to cry as needed, you've been through so much. I'm glad your Ob is being sympathetic. Hopefully the s&s will do the trick & you'll have your little girl in your arms within the next 48hrs.
I've just told my BB due group that we're having a girl :) (it wasn't a secret but I hadn't been ready to share just yet) and I wanted to share the news with you guys too :) It was a bit of a shock as we were both hoping for a boy but I think I was actually more disappointed than DP. I felt my first real kick on Saturday - it surprised me & brought tears to my eyes.
-
Aww, their first kicks are so amazing :)
I'm being as impatient as hell atm waiting for this damn phone call to tell me when I'm having my baby! The s&s hasn't made me feel any different at all and I really don't think that's going to cut it atm so just HANGING for that call! He has been busy with deliveries so I know why but damn, I need to know, it's sending me insane!
