Mrs Hendo - many, many congratulations for your great news!!!! May you enjoy your pregnancy and its wonderful gift.

Smallfry - if you can stomach it - just some regular tinned pear juice will clear up constipation in a second - I use it after birth to make things easy on that front and it always works a treat (and is cheap and doesn't require a run to a doc/pharmacy)

babymiracles and LizJessie - we should be putting odds on this race!!!!

I think DP is taking Joss for a bath with him at the moment so I will duck in and change my pregnancy ticker which is still powering along without us!!!!! DD has been absolutely fantastic during the birth and after - I have a beautiful photo of her with the midwife's stethoscope listening to the baby's heartbeat :D Joss was a bit unsettled but a bit of reflexology from the midwife for a touch of meconium backup has got everything sorted and he is sleeping and feeding very contentedly now - wish I'd known this with my DD who started out the same way with lots of distressed tummy issues but I didn't know first time you could do reflexology on such young bubs - ah well - you do the best you can with what you've got at the time ;)

Much love to everyone - look forward to maybe catching up with some of you on the parenting forums - may everyone continue to enjoy their time with bubs in utero (finally put the umbilical cord aside in the freezer for DP so he can bury it in a special place with DS later - and placenta is safely stored in the freezer after a bit of art print work - ready for planting under a special tree next year for Joss' naming day!!!) Starting to believe I am back in a bit of a flow now!!!!! :lol:

Hi ladies,

Quick post for me today so sorry not too many persies.

AFM- had my 1st tri scan today which I was really nervous about due to having a missed mc last time. Anyway I'm pleased to say that the scan went great, however when I saw my ob straight after my combined screen had me at 1:177 risk for downs- which is considered high risk. He seems to think that the chance of downs is probably lower than that because my scan was so positive- however has chatted to us about having a CVS or amnio. We are thinking amnio!

z star- I can't believe how similar our pg seem to be progressing. I was more worried about no heart beat or the size not coresponding to weeks etc- not really downs how quickly things change.

Mrs Hendo- congrats on your BFP.

Josh'smum glad your scan went well, from all I've heard the amnio is the best option. I didn't but I was low risk. I think if I was going to I'd want to know 100%

ATM: Heartburn and brain awake :wall: can't stop thinking work, baby, work, baby and then heartburn so I'm up trying to drain my brain and put the fire out in my belly. Squeak has been pretty active today. Although I must say my tummy is starting to feel big. I love it but I get uncomfortable easy. Not good for all the mega meetings coming up.

I wonder if it's rude to pace around the room? ;)

Well I am about to leave to get my blood test results... I am sooo nervous.. Surely I have to be pregnant. 4 positive tests and they were getting darker every day. I am just soo anxious. I have had this before where a urine test is positive but then the blood work comes back under 5. It's just so heartbreaking. I feel preg, By boobs hurt and i'm nauseous and i even had to have a nap at work yesterday..

Josh'smum, I agree, excellent news about everything being ok and yeah, would probably go for the amnio as well. I know a number of women who have had them with absolutly no dramas at all and none who have had any complications after having one.

Karen van, Sounds like lots of fun with baby Joss in the family :) thanks for the advice re pear juice, I'll certainly give it a go and hope to be able to stomach it. I should be able to because lately all i want is fruit and fruit juice, which is really unusual for me because most fruits and nearly all juices trigger migraines in me but now they're not so I'm making the most of it! Hey, anyone reckon this is a sign of things to come? I'm 20 week scan in a couple of days (19 1/2 week) and will be finding out the gender.

Welcome Mrs Hendo and a huge congratulations on your two pink lines!! There's nothing more amazing and terrifying than those lines hey?! I :pray: everything goes perfectly for you this time around and that in a few short months you are holding your baby in your arms.

AFM have been getting some random waves of extreme nausea lately and I think it's to do with both eating too much and eating not enough. In some ways looking forward to that diabetes test but I think I'm ages away from that being done. For some reason feeling a little paranoid about it, probably due to a couple of friends getting quite serious gestational diabetes recently. I'm sure I'll be fine as I was for my first two.

As mentioned, also have our (final) scan on Friday afternoon, I'm so excited about it! We're taking our girls with us and they're excited too and have great debates about if it's going to be a girl or a boy! Of course, they both swing back and forth between the two as well.

josh'smum - i feel for you. i am now comfortable with our decision to have the amnio. it has taken me two weeks to get my head around it - to believe in the test and believe in the process and now i'm good to go. many tears cried. i spoke to a lot of people and had so many opinions that just did my head in. it has to be your (and dh) decision in the end. my ob said the risk of m/c is now around 1/1000. you will read it to be 1/300 and those results are from the 1980's when the needles were twice the size and a lot of specialists not trained up. my mum sent me a text that i keep in my phone and read it daily "my darling daughter, be brave, be strong, pray for calm and patience. be confident that your baby is strong & healthy & your little family is happy". i now pass this on to you as my bellybelly friend. Stay strong and be brave and stay positive. we will have our healthy little bubbas in our arms very soon. i am thinking of you. i am booked in 15th oct.

afm - my belly is starting to stick out. It is hilarious. by the time i have had dinner it is all hard around the sides and sticking out quite a bit. i am used to having a fairly flat stomach so it is quite a novalty! i keep laughing at it. i am so enjoying being pregnant and keep talking to my bubba. it is a wonderful gift - we are lucky to be women and get to experience it!

z-star- thanks heaps for your positivity and your words of wisdom. We are feeling pretty happy with our decision to have the amnio now, that's not to say that I am still terrified. I really believe that everything will be ok, but we need to know so we can make an informed decision. We have a 2 1/2 year old we also have to consider the impact on him so have decided that we need to know. The bizarre thing is that the scan was so positive. My ob mentioned that 6 years ago before the bt came in we would have been low risk. My amnio is scheduled for the 13th of Oct, I was hoping you would be able to give me the low down on the procedure but looks like I will be pm you instead.

Well I got back from the doctor and I am definately UP THE DUFF!!!

My blood levels were at 46, she said this is ok for so early I am showing at 3 weeks... have to go again tomorrow to make sure they are increasing...

Really praying this one is a sticky bubs.....!!!!

Just a quickie to let you know I am still about. I am super-huge, super-low and taking things very easy as instructed by my ob recently. Sleeping well, but having much stronger BH, lower-back pain and period-like pain which may be pre-labour or even early-labour. BUT just when I start to think there is a pattern developing...it stops. My CS is booked two weeks today (at 39+3), but my Ob still thinks I will be in labour before then

Smallfryplus - I had rotten headaches at the same stage as you. Panadol did sweet nothing. It did pass, though...

Z-star - are you looking at maternity clothes yet? I found it exciting to finally get to that section in a department store which I (sadly and also superstitiously) kept away from for some time.

WTH - I do agree.. I was starting to think it was happening for me because starting last night, I had the most horrible pains - the thing that made me realise that it wasn't happening just yet is that they weren't regular... Well, they were regular, but they weren't iykwim. I'd have pain for about half an hour, then it would stop for 20 minutes then go again for another 20, then stop for an hour etc etc... It was horrible!

:hello: to everyone else - Had my Obs appt - he said everything is going well, now it's just the waiting for the bub to be here! Head is down, but not engaged just yet - and if I keep having the back and stomach pains, take Panadeine.. If it doesn't get any better, just to go to the hospital

Lizjessie, with both my dd I had BH for a week prior to giving birth. I was induced with dd2 because i had BH ALL night every night 15 minutes apart for a week (of course it would stop first thing in the morning!) and was exhausted when I then picked up the flu so I went to my ob and begged him to induce, I think I was about a week late by then but can't remember as it was all so exhausting and foggy! Good luck with yours! (ps my DD1 is 18/10!!)

Mrs Hendo, I have had loads of cramping with this preg, particularly the first 8 weeks or so. I think (from what others have told me) that it's to do with the uterus expanding and everything starting to move around and settle into the pregnancy. Ironically, when I miscarried earlier this year, I had no cramping and no idea that anything was wrong until I woke up covered in blood, the cramping didn't start until after the bleeding. Retrospectively, 'something' felt wrong but I still couldn't pin point it if asked. The cliche is applicable (but annoying to hear I know!), try to stay calm and not to stress. :pray: for a happy, fun, life changing pregnancy for you :)

Hi everyone, is it okay if I join this thread?

I had a miscarriage last cycle at around 7 weeks, it was my first pregnancy and I was lucky enough to conceive the first month trying. Unfortunately it wasn't meant to be and it was really one of the most difficult things I have ever been through. I really leant on the women on BellyBelly to help me get through. Last Wednesday I POAS and got 2 lines but had some spotting. The Dr took my levels then and again on Monday and it is increasing. Unfortunately, I am still spotting but the Dr said that the pregnancy look "viable" and sometimes bleeding does occur so I am tentatively posting in this thread.

I am going to go back and read through this thread and learn your names. I look forward to getting to know you all better.

Welcome Starangelk!!! I haven't been on this forum that long myself but everyone has been so welcoming and friendly and given great advice.

AFM: Well, I made it to the 8 week mark which in itself is a big achievement. Had bhcg done Monday cause I have had 4 friends this week who have lost bubs at around same date as me...was over 100,000 :) I think this just may be the bub I get to have and hold and love forever!

Mrs Hendo - I have had quite bad cramping in both my successful pregnancies, none in my miscarried ones. It can be quite normal, try not to stress - although I do know how hard it is not to.

AFU, we are doing really well, although Emma just had a huge feed followed by a massive (happy) vomit all over herself and me. OMG, I can't believe how quickly we can generate a load of washing LOL And she is smiling now awwww it is so cute that big gummy grin :D

Smallfryplus - My Dr has given me a referral for a dating scan but has asked me to wait until the second week of October to have the scan. I have been charting though and know my dates, do I just take the first day of heavy bleeding from mc as CD1 as that's what I have done. If that's right, I am 5W1D today.

Mrs Hendo - you have a great attitude :clap: I hope your BT went well today, I am going back again in the morning too. I used to be so SCARED of needles and in the past few months I have just gotten used to them. How far along are you?

TinaR - over 100,000 at the 8 week mark? Wooowweeeee, that's an amazing number! I can only aspire to that figure. Congrats!

Megsmum - thanks for writing that about your cramping in your successful pregnancies. I too have been experiencing some cramps and sharp pains. On Monday before I knew my BT results I got a stabbing pain and actually yelled from the shock of it. I felt for sure it meant a bad outcome but luckily, I am in this thread now :dance:

AFM - I have had a pretty quiet day at work. I can't believe how calm I am after getting the increasing HCG news yesterday. For a week I have been waking up and POAS and analysing everything about it, was it darker, how long did the line take etc etc. This morning I even forgot to take my temperature and didn't POAS at all!! Plus I have got this general happy feeling all over and I want to shout my news from the rooftops, whereas last time I wanted to keep it a secret until we got further along. Yep, I'm a strange one :redface:

I can totally relate. Even though I am at a high risk of another miscarriage I just can't keep it a secret. I have noticed amongst my friends, those who have never lost a pregnancy always wait 3 months yet those who have shout it from rooftops!!! :happyforyou:

In my situation I have really craved support this time. I need to believe it will stick and that it will be a successful pregnancy. I have had to let work know as my job is quite stressful and I need time off for lots of dr's visits and blood tests.

I am currently 4 weeks and 2 days.... although I already feel about 10 months... lol or should i say treating myself like I am.. hahaha

Good luck at the dr's tomorrow I hope your hg levels have increased tooo!!! How far along are you?

starangel - I haven't had got my results yet. my doctor won't ever give results over the phone good or bad so i have to wait till my appointment tomorrow...longest 2 day wait ever... i still have really strong symptoms so I think the force is strong with this one.

Thanks for the well wishes, the Dr rang and my HCG is over 2,300! Can't believe that this time last week it was only 70. The bleeding I am experiencing is annoying really. It is light but I am calling it spotting because that makes me feel better. ;) Basically I am wearing a liner and once a day I get some staining but other than that it is just brown sludge or red mucousy blood when I wipe. I did have some clots but that was last week and haven't seen anything like that since then. I keep thinking the bleeding has eased but then I go to the toilet and there it is again. It's persistant that's for sure. My last pregnancy didn't have any bleeding at all until I started to mc (the very very light brown spotting was my first sign) so it is still scary to me but with my numbers increasing, I am feeling more positive.

Starangel thats awesome news!! 2,300 is brilliant. I have gone home early from work. I was sick all day vomiting i just left and went to the doctor.. but I now have my results, so on the 28th by hcg was 46 then on 30th it was 186 so thats gotta be a good sign...

I just feel sooo rotten and want to sleep all the time. But sooo excited at the same time that i just feel this is gonna be it this time...

I can imagine the bleeding is worrying but as you have probably read on here it can be really normal. I have had a bit of slight cramping and that makes me worry but it hasn't gotten any worse.

Mrs Hendo - I think you are 4W3D and I got an HCG level of 70 at 4W1D so yours are higher than mine were :) From my calcs I am due June 1st......I saw you joined the BB thread but I am going to wait until after my scan in a couple of weeks and if they confirm the dates I have I'll come and say hi then :)

I am so glad your tests went so well. I got a massive sleep of 3 hours this afternoon. No idea how I am going to continue at work. soooo tired. How are you going with tiredness? My dr told me to take some B6 vitamins so now every morning I take a pregnancy vitamin, pregnancy folate and now b6 vitamin... jeez...

I was really apprehensive joining that thread but I figured i am just going to be positive.. There only seems to be a couple in there so far so I prob will spend more time on this thread till then. Everyone here understands the apprehension after going through a miscarriage..

Mrs Hendo, another thing which will also help with the nausea is the blackmores morning sickness tablets, they contain B6 and ginger and really help. If you take several of these a day (as noted on the bottle) they should help with tiredness and nausea. Stay positive, stay happy, stay pregnant! (great BT results too!)

Limited brain function at this hour so hope everyone is enjoying themselves and I'll be back tomorrow to report on baby colour! (I'm so jinxing myself by talking about it so much!)

Morning everyone - I realised that yesterday was my first real day in this thread and I may have slightly hijacked it talking with Mrs Hendo :redface:

AFM with my dating scan - I am stuck in that wanting to have it asap and wanting to wait long enough to see a heartbeat if possible. Can anyone please give me some ideas about when I should be able to see a heartbeat? With my last pregnancy, I had a scan but the sac was small and they couldn't see anything inside - at that stage they said it was just too early.

Greenslw - have fun in the country, sounds like a great opportunity for some R & R :)

Morning starangelk, I believe the heartbeat isn't visible until around 7 weeks. Unfortunately that means you've got a couple weeks to wait before you can hear it. Kinda in that TWW again huh? And probably just about as frustrating too!

starangel - You will have a baby of your own that you feel like this about, stay confident! I had a HCG of 84 at the same stage as you, so your levels are good too. And as for the dating scan, I had mine at 6w6d and we could clearly see E's HB on an external scan. Internal can pick it up earlier again. Good luck :hug: the waiting is awful I know....

starangelk & mrs hendo - my first pregnancy i saw the heart beat at 5wks 3 days so they can pick it up pretty early. this pregnancy we say the heartbeat at 6 weeks and we got to hear the heartbeat at 8wks. amazing. that is sound that will stay with you forever. i am so excited for you both. don't worry about the hijacking! stay positive and talk to your bubbas everyday. sticky sticky vibes all around.

afm - dh left this morning with 15 mates to head down the the rugby league grand final in sydney. he goes every year and has the time of his life. always rings up drunk telling me how much he loves me and the dog. too funny. i fly to kangaroo island on sunday for 10 days to a buddhist retreat/study course which i am excited about. i won't have any internet or phone contact with anyone so that is spinning me out a bit. not talking to dh and my mum and no bellybelly will be very strange. i fly back in very late 14th oct then wake up and head into the city for my amnio fist thing on the 15th. dh will then be in perth for work so i won't see him till 17th. mum is coming with me to amnio. i have to be brave and strong - for me, dh and our bubba. its all getting a bit overwhelming today now dh has gone. anyway, everything has a reason behind it and maybe this is preparing me to be a brave strong mother! josh's mum - i will be saying lots of mantras for you and i hope everything goes well with your amnio on 13th. everything crossed for you. to all the new girls - i know your journey, stay positive and i look forward to seeing you all here when i get back. to everyone that is close to 'popping' - i wish you all a safe and speedy delivery and can't wait to hear the lovely news that all your bubbas are here when i return. to everyone else on the road....stay healthy and happy. i will miss this thread but i look forward to jumping back on with my great news that the amnio showed up no problems!!!!! love and hugs to you all. xxx Zoe :D

Megsmum - :) I am trying so hard to stay confident, I really want to be a gushing mum. Someone asked me directly today when I was going to have kids and my response "As soon as possible!" - I think they were surprised at how direct I was - hahahhaha.

Zstar - WOW. Have an excellent excellent time. Sometimes I wonder how I would go without technology for a while, I have to admit I am a technology addict.........my iphone and my laptop would absolutely be on the 5 things I would take with me if my house was burning down. Can't wait to hear how your trip away goes and of course your good news amnio results.

Mrs Hendo - you poor thing having MS.........though I must admit I am a bit jealous. Now that my BT have finished I am looking for any sort of continuous pregnancy sign. I tried to PM you but I couldn't - I am not sure why?

AFM - I woke up feeling a bit strange today, I think I might be getting the flu. Tonight I was really tired and really hot and my temperature was up a bit. Have been a bit headachy as well. Trying to stay positive :)

Starangelk my clinic did an US at 8 weeks and I saw a HB :D I think they like to wait that long to be sure.

Mrs Hendo, my energy was down to the bottom till 15 weeks then great for 5 now it's heading south again, when you get your energy back enjoy every minute.

zstar I'm off to Kangaroo Island this weekend too, although nothing as nice as what you're doing, must share when you get back, I lived there for 2 years DF has a beautiful place out of Penneshaw which is so nice (for a holiday) Have you been before?

ATM lingering headach, but I hope it goes, as mentioned I'm off for the weekend I have to drive 2 hours to the boat, I'm hoping to get out of class early and pop in home for a quick wake up shower on the way. DF is busy building something (house under consturction) and I'm just looking forward to having him alone for some DNM time. Still need to have a chat re work and house for the future. Been putting it off and really need to be in the best place.

Hi girls, just a quick one to tell you that Ella Georgia arrived Weds 30th Sept at 11:53pm after a 14 hour labour! Still in hosp so hope to tell you more when I get the chance. I am absolutely loving being a mama! Tanks for your support girls! xox
