lauren - Congrats on hitting 7 weeks! I found that the only things that helped my m/s were carbohydrate filled foods like hot chips (top of my list LOL), bread, potato and pasta. And Maccas Filet-O-Fish were good too LOL My DD got to know Maccas and KFC way too well during my first tri :redface: But you do what you have to, better than being able to eat nothing at all. Try not to stress about it too much, take a multivitamin and like erybery said its not forever. You can make up for it when the m/s eases. :hug: though I know its no fun, even whilst it is reassuring!

greenslw - Thanks, have been getting plenty of back rubs from DH to help these sore muscles. A hot pack is my best friend too LOL Yay for cooking dinner and dessert, will have to drag my sorry bottom up off the lounge tonight and do the same! DH has done most of the cooking over the weekend, God love him, because I have been too sore to move much. I know how you feel about the tummy sleeping too, I'm a tummy sleeper from way back and miss it so much! Can't wait till I've had bub and can sleep on it again.

AFM, back from the ob today and looks like things will be happening soon - yay! We talked about induction and he had to do a VE to decide the best way to go, and my cervix is effaced and 1cm dilated already :dance: So I'm booked in for the gel on Friday afternoon if I don't go into labour in the meantime. My ob's exact words were "If I was a betting man, I'd bet you won't get that far" so here's hoping he's right. On a bad note though, I'm still coughing and have a sore back - blah, I wish it would get lost!

Megsmum - OMG how exciting. Just wanted to pop in and wish you all the very best. Amazing to think to you will be meeting your little one very soon. Good luck sweetie

Meredith - How you doin? Been thinking of you, especially as you have now well and truly surpassed your initial goal of 28 weeks :D I imagine you are now taking the steroids you spoke of to help Upsy Daisy's lungs get a head-start. I don't know much about the treatment and hope it is not giving you any further unpleasant side effects on top of the predisinone, etc.

Josh'smum - :welcome: and congratulations on your PG. Like you, we had a the "ideal" age difference between my first and second PG, and we also lost that one after 13 weeks. Totally understand your aprehension about shouting your PG from the rooftops. We waited until my "bump" was super-obvious before sharing, even with our parents.

lauren - wow - your MS sounds pretty full-on. What ever you do, make sure you are keeping down water as dehydration is not good for you or your bubba. I have read that ginger is good for MS, but did not try it. Bananas worked for me...

zstar - hope your MS has eased since your last post. Mine was a lot like your's - severe nausea, but I think I was only sick twice.

AFM - DD is doing much better now, but DH managed to come down with something very yucky from Friday night onwards. So I got to play nurse all weekend. Meanwhile I am still doing OK. Did manage my first calf cramp early Saturday morning and OMG :jawdrop: do they freakin' HURT! Hobbled around for the rest of the weekend, but that did not stop me from hitting the shops on Saturday to buy my first items for this bubba. Damn it felt good, and I did not hold back. In fact, I went out and did it all again on Sunday. There is just no stopping me now... :ROFL:

AFM - all moved in now - saw the ob on Friday and have been advised to slow down as my BP is increasing with each visit. Have to see him again in 2 weeks to check again. Ob has suggested that DH looks after me know although DH thinks I am making it up :lol::lol:

Baby furniture should arrive this week - will be nice to start setting up the room

14 working days to go woot woot woot ..... so excited to be finishing work!!

afm - ob gave me a script yesterday for zofran 4mg wafer for my ms. it was starting to affect my ability to do my job. far out, $85 for 10 wafers. i am hoping to get away with only using them 4 days a week. have taken 1 half an hour ago and feeling better. my girlfriend said they will make me feel 'normal'. looking forward to that. i have my full bloods done on thursday. apart from that, all is great. i feel so bad to complain about ms when we have fought long and hard to get this far and there are so many still not pg. anyway, blah blah blah thats all from me for now.

Zstar - agggh.... m/s. I kind of forget how bad it was back in the early days. Lost about 4kgs in a short few weeks myself. Good that you at least have the zofran to make life more bearable

AFM - Yep, 29weeks and still going... YAY! Did the steroids 2 weeks ago. 2 shoys in the butt 24hrs apart... ouch they really hurt and blah did they make me feel yuk for several days after!
Feeling ok now although intermittent nausea and dizzieness I think from the adalat ( anticontraction meds). Also can't seem to eat much as bubs taking up to much room and I get breathless with a full stomach... not really complaining if she is growing though.
Still lots of movement which is good too!
Went for 4d scan on saturday but typical of everything in this pg.... didn't go well.
Upsy was in the strangest position the sonogrpaher had seen with her head all crunched up against her chest... no chance of getting any face shots. We were all really diapointted but going to try again next week and pray that she has moved a bit. Sonographer said she already looked cramped in there cos I am very small so hope she can move herself out of there soon... not just for piccies but so she can actually make it out the au natural route!
Oh and thanks to you ladies, got up the courage to book appt to seriously look at wigs this w/e. Seems I may be able to get some $$$ rebated given I have a medical issue.

Hello to everyone else, I don`t have much time for the internet atm, mainly just pop in and out of FB.

zstar - Hope the MS is getting better. You are not alone on that front. I have been suffering from the MS since week 5 and its still ongoing. I just keep reminding myself its for the greater good and it reminds me that things are all ok with our little one. I am even vomiting at work now and it awful! I really look forward to sharing our journeys together. :p
Megsmum - How exciting that you will be holding your little girl anyday. Sending you lots of positive vibes and hope she is with you anyday.
Josh's Mum - welcome and big congratulations on the BFP! I also had a few cramps at the beginning and still experience them from time to time and have been assured its all normal. Relax and enjoy the pregnancy. I look forward to sharing our journeys together.
Lauren22 - congratulations on the 7weeks! I have been the same, nauseous, no appetite, vomiting but so agree with you. When you dont feel sick you start to worry and at the end of the day its all worth it. I found Salt & Vinegar crisps help a little bit. :dance:
greenslw - Hope your DP has come around :dance: I can't wait to get back in to it. I have been told no hanky panky until I pass 12 weeks to be safe.

Anyone else I missed - I hope all your pregnancies are coming along nicely.
ATM - So very happy and relieved today. Had another ultrasound with my obs today and we saw our little one moving. Obs said little one is looking very healthy and good size. My first m/c was at 12 weeks to discover the heart stopped at 10 so feel so relieved. NT scan next Friday and having this scan today has made me relax so much more. Still feeling nauseous,tired, vomiting and peeing like there is no tomorrow. Can't wait till next Friday when we can finally tell our friends and family who will all be over the moon for us. thanks to you all for your encouraging words and support. It really means a lot. :clap:

zstar and Lauren22 - Hope the MS is managable. With DS I was addicted to chicken chips and saladas with vegemite and cheese. Its funny, I haven't really felt ms yet and am hoping that I do soon. With DS it didn't hit until 6 weeks, and then it was pretty bad.
Megsmum - Best of luck for the birth of your little girl, I hope it all goes well.
Where theres hope - Spend up big. I already have most things, but I am slowly compiling a list of things that I need (I tell DH need, really a want) and as soon as I hit the 13 week mark I will shopping up a storm.
Cant wait - thanks for the reassurance, every little niggle is causing more anxiety. I guess I just have to try to relax.

AFM: I have my first ob appt on Monday week, as 7 weeks. I was going to come in the following week but didn't think I could last that long. I am still feeling quite apprehensive about it all (I am going through loads of toilet paper checking that everything is ok). I saw a heartbeat with the baby I mc so I really won't be fully relieved until I am 13 weeks or so. DH keeps telling me that we would be pretty unlucky for a mc to happen again, especially since my pg with DS was so problem free, I hope he is right but unfortuately I know it happens.

I thought this might be the right place for me to post. I had it confirmed at OB today that i have just had my 9th chemical pregnancy as they call it. My OB is awesome and he Let me have a cry and said he knew it must be so hard to lose so many babies. I just don't know what to do anymore. I have had a tonne of tests and they can't find anything wrong with us. Everything is normal apparantly.

I just feel so emotionally wrecked. The doctor told me in their office on friday Congrats your preg only to have cramping and bleeding and end up in emergency 3 am the next morning.

I don't know whether we should just keep trying or stop all together

WTH :lol: Poor DH and DP their in for trouble with all these hormones. But hay when they're not there they complain. so enjoy I say. Have you tried tissue salts for your cramps? They worked a charm when I was in the tropics.

Easha hope you are managing to slow down, it's easier said than done.

Just popping in quickly to reply to Mrs Hendo. I am hoping I can help you...

Firstly, I am very sorry for your loss. The constant let-downs must be really upsetting and obviously you want this baby so very much. :comfort:

You mentioned you have had "a tonne of tests". There are tests, and then, there are TESTS. I have suffered recurrent MC (two were chromosonal, two were unexplained) and initially had some basic tests done with my GP. I then had some more blood clotting-type tests done with an FS, including homocysteine, ANA, anticardioplin, etc. I eventually invested in the SIVF recurrent MC program. Basically we did a lot of blood tests over a monthly cycle, plus they perform an ultrasound, NK cell biopsy (from uterus) and another more involved ultrasound involving inserting sterile saline inside so they can get a very good image of how you are functioning. The tests go above and beyond the standard investigative tests your GP of FS may offer (about 40 tests all up). Ultimately I invested in IVF with PGD, as we knew part of my problem was probably age-related chromosonal issues (though ironically all four of my embryos tested have been normal).

zstar - Glad that the one day at a time approach is working well for you. I too had constant nausea, but I did vomit every once in a while as well. It was hard having to go to work and pretend I felt fine. That was as draining as the actual m/s itself. For a while, weekends were strictly couch days for me - I needed the downtime. It is hard to enjoy pregnancy when you feel like crap all the time. It did affect my work for a while, but now that I'm over it I'm more productive than ever. I hope the medication is helping.

greenslw - What an awesome boss you have! It's great to feel supported at work. I hope that the other staff can be just as happy for you and not make your remaining time more stressful. I hope the headaches ease soon. Panadol is fine to take during pregnancy.

lauren - I'm sure everyone is excited for you and will be supportive of you whatever happens. Its hard to find that balance between excitement and caution. My DH was really unwilling to tell anyone before 12 weeks so that motivated me to keep my mouth shut whenever I had the urge to tell. We've been robbed of the innocence that many get to experience with their pregnancies, so good on you for getting so excited that you felt you had to tell. Don't feel bad about wanting to celebrate this baby. Sorry the m/s is being hard on you. When I had m/s I could never really get rid of the nausea entirely, but I found that eating something small every hour or so helped to ease it. Also, I stayed well away from eating things I didn't feel like as forcing myself to eat things just because they were good for me only made me feel worse. I think I lived on green apples and crumpets for about 8 weeks. As long as you're taking vitamins bubs will be fine - he/she gets first dibs on any nutrients in your system.

AFM - DH and I layby'ed the first items last weekend. Nothing big, just a portacot and a 'my little bed' so that bubs doesn't roll around in the cot. We also had a look at prams and think we have decided on the one we want. I hadn't planned to buy anything until 3rd trimester, but the sales are on now and this way we have more time to research and don't have to rush into things because we're running out of time.

Still not a lot of action here, I had a few contractions last night and started to get hopeful, but they are pretty much gone today :( So the induction is looking increasingly likely for tomorrow. I go into hospy at 4pm to have the gel and then wait and see after that - I think most probably we will spend the night there and then I will have my waters broken at 8am Saturday if nothing happens in the meantime. I may not get on line tomorrow though, still have much to do and of course holding onto a little hope that things will happen naturally of course....

AFM- bad news at my ob appoint yesterday. I had high BP 150/100 and protein in my urine, so hoping its not pre exclampsia. Ive always been healthy and never had a problem with BP so not sure why? I had blood tests done and have to see Ob again tomorrow to be checked again.
Have any of you girls had this happen before?

Erybery - I had pre eclampsia with my DD diagnosed at 37 weeks. The bloods taken will probably be liver function test. Please dont think that it has any reflection on your health its just one of those things that happens in pg. It can also run in families my sister had it with both of her pg ,as i was 37 weeks they delivered my dd early but all my sister needed was a little bedrest and it went away. Please try not to worry too much they hopefully it will not be that.

Just a quick one: I had my Blood pressure tested today and it was fine and only a trace of protein so much happier I don't have to worry bout pre eclampsia. Ob said they will just monitor me closely and I need to rest as much as possible! yay

ATM having a little alone time before going to a friends house were DP is for a catch up. Still feeling a little left out cos I'm the only non drinker atm. I don't really want any but it's just different. I've baught myself some nice soda water things but it's not really the same.

Just organised a relief for next Saturdays class so I can go to DP's house, haven't told any of our friends there yet. Will be great. Glad to have a weekend off too. Need some down time.

I just thought I would stick my head in and say hi. I had a :bfp: a couple of days ago and now I am just waiting for the results of the confirmation blood test. The doctor said on Friday that I was four weeks and five days pregnant according to her charts.

I alternate between being really pleased and being terrified I will have to go through another loss. Last time, apart from a bloated stomach, I really had no symptoms. This time I feel queasy and have a funny taste in my mouth so I am taking that as a good sign.

It's great to see a couple of people I know here as well. Hi Josh'sMum and Zstar!

Just posting to let you know that I still have bub on board! Thanks so very much for all the well wishes, but I actually decided on Friday afternoon after a chat with my ob to postpone the induction until this week. I haven't had much chance to post until now :redface:

He was very supportive and suggested that maybe a better way to go would be to have CTG monitoring and wait until I am a week overdue to give the induction a better chance of success. So despite my continuing worry about bub, I decided that I have to trust him as he is the expert. And also in the end, I had some serious concerns about coping with an induction, so decided I wanted to give myself a bit more time to go into labour myself.

So there you go! I can't quite believe that I'm still here, but I am and hoping like mad I go into labour in the next couple of days. The new induction day is Wednesday afternoon for the gel and waters broken on Thursday morning. I promise you I won't be pulling out of that one!

Greenslw: Good luck with your assignment, and enjoy the pizza. DH has requested roast beef tonight so that is what we are all having. I have just put it in the oven so we can eat right at 6pm. Early night for all of us.

AFM: Still feeling quite anxious, although my boobs are still really sore and MASSIVE, I have been feeling a little unwell and DS is really tiring me out. It sounds funny but I feel reassured when I am not feeling well.

Josh'sMum, My boobs were sore for about 8 weeks, then ok, now sore and growing again. I'm going to cause accidents! Roast Beef sounds nice.

ATM: told my dad the news today his eyes popped out of his head (web cam) he's in Canada. Was great Told my step daughter too (she's 20 but :rolleyes: not mentally!) but that went ok too. DP is cooking tea and I'm for the first time ever trying to make my own chicken stock. Yep how domestic am I.

Finally decided on white for the bubs room, no built in robe just replace the one in the passage (old and crusty) and get a nice pine wardrobe (portable) and less room taken in the room (it's not a huge room) and I dont want it to be all cupboard! What a relief.

Was up at 2.35am, finally got lured back to bed by DP :redface: at 5am. then the phone at 5.30, 6.30, 7, then DSS phone at 7.30. Then Up :wall: but I haven't had a night like this in ages, so I'm not too deflated, and making a decision is sooooooo good for me right now.

joshsmum - mmm the ms is just great. my 24hr hangover is fantastic. some days i cope better than others. my bb are sore too. i had a massage the other day and it was not fun lying on them. i didn't have a lot to start with so i am liking the growth. i keep hanging on for the 12 week mark when the ms should go! bring it on!

afm - just had 3 days in melbourne. went and saw jersery boys show. excellent. i can't believe i was in melbourne and didn't have 1 coffee. still can't stand the thought of one. i lived for my coffee every morning. i am getting used to the fact that i no longer run my body - it runs me. i am in the middle of drinking my 1 litre of water for our first scan in 1 hour. looking forward to it. i got out my scan from my little angel and had a look at that this morning. might be time to let that go. no point in hanging on to it. feeling a bit emotional today. looking forward to the scan but i guess it still doesn't guarantee anything. anyway, i will pick up.
