Congratulations Greenslaw on the birth of your little man. What a great name, my nephews name is Lincoln too. Enjoy every minute hun.
Tina it has gone very quickly, its great. I hope your pregnancy starts to feel a little more real for you soon and that little zen starts to let you know that everything is fine.
Tanya love the new avatar, looking good
AFM all going well here, i think the ms is finally easing up, which is good. Have started to tell all my family now so its really starting to feel real.
Hope everyone has a good weekend and can try and stay out of the heat as much as possible, YUK i hate the hot weather.
Congrats Green!! So happy for you and your DH!!! Absolutely love the name :clap:
Hope everyone is feeling wonderful and excited about their babies...
We got our second HCG levels today... 95 last week.... and 7103 this week!!! Very happy with the results.... Just glad they're going up really fast.
3 - 4 more weeks til our first scan though, but we're happy!!
Enjoy your weekend ladies!!
woohoo! Congrats greenslw!!!! That's great news :) glad everything went well, make sure you come back and tell us all about how it happened when you have time! Such a fantastic name too :)
Greenslw - I am so happy for you, what a truly magical time for you, and the realisation of a cherished dream. Welcome to Lincoln too, what a precious little man. Good luck with your parenting journey and for the next 3 months or so.
Hey Chuckie - Good craving! Very australian. I don't know when women typically get cravings. I seem to desire rice, in all of my pregnancies, from very early on. We are pretty close in due dates. Depending on which system I use my EDD is either 22 or 24 September 2010, and your in September 25. I am hopeful, and I am not very worried at the moment. I seem to have found some peace. When I am in here, it is probably the only time that I let myself worry. I think because I am understood in here and always welcome. People on the outside of BB try, but they really don't want to hear about my worries.
TinaR - wow sis, now I have much more of an understanding behind your words of comfort and wisdom to me. Thankyou. Your own journey has been pretty difficult and I am not sure I knew some of the details before your post here. Maybe I have just been off with the pixies.
No more persies for me tonight. AFM, intermittent nausea today, including as I type.... this is certainly different from my previous pregnancies, but I just accept it as part of this pregnancy. So what else? I had some whacky dreams last night - in one I saved a toddler from drowning. It felt so real. In the second, I dreamt my ob had plastic surgery on his butt, and was proudly showing off the new look in some gucci slacks. LOL go figure that one out. Presumably you can get plastic surgery on your butt?
dory - love that plastic surgery dream! Pretty sure you can get plastic surgery on any part of the body these days. I was posing a possibility to my sister the other day after seeing an ad for liposuction "I wonder if people ever go in and request an unusual shape... they do with their dog-cuts - just look at poodles!!"
I'm starting to get scared... the BH are getting stronger and more painful. I'd forgotten what contractions felt like and even the BH ones are bad enough!! I'm not really looking forward to that final day now!! I think Melbourne needs more hot weather to remind me exactly how uncomfortable this part of pregnancy is and how much I really DO want the baby out!! The last few days of beautiful weather have made me relax into comfort again!! Here's hoping the next two days of heat bring me back to reality! hahaah I'm such a whimp!
Congratulations Greenslw! Can't wait to hear more about the arrival of your little man.
H.P.L - Wow great results! Yay!
Smallfry - Getting close, won't be long now.
CONGRATULATIONS GREENSLW AND DH for the arrival of Lincoln - very dignified -
Hope your birth went well and if you need anything for healing post-birth - get someone to grab some:
[LIST] good quality lavender oil (augustifolia) - it is the healing one not just the nice smelling one;
10+ or more strength manuka honey (I have brought 20+ for myself/friends before)
- calendula infused oil - another strong healer and a great one for preventing nappy rash and healing up spots on bub;
All can be brought from the local health food store
Either yourself or partner can apply the three together - drip the lavender and calendula onto nether regions and gently smear the honey on with a clean utensil every time - this sticky mix is a godsend with grazes/tears/stitches and in helping to go to the loo - can be applied as many times as you need (after showers/baths is good) - it has an antiseptic as well as anaesthetic function - it is a favourite with homebirthing midwives and mums for its quick healing (we have a name for it but that might be a bit TMI :p) (helps to minimise scarring)
If bowel motions are an issue - pear juice (just the normal tin stuff from supermarket) every morning and evening for a few days will get that moving softly, gently and regularly following the birth - you can stay on that one for as long as you need as BF hormones will often keep constipation/hemaeroids (sp?) in the building for a while after
Hope you are enjoying every minute!!!! It is so wonderful to see you here - my typing is a bit dodgy - BFing Joss on my lap at the moment and he is a squirmer...;)
Much love to you and all the other wonderful women and their families here!!!!!
Karen van
Hi Greenslw
Sorry - forgot the internal healing helpers!
You probably already know Raspberry Leaf tea will help with bleeding, lochia and iron recovery - but if you feel a bit strained and knocked about internally - Arnica pilules will help with bruising/swelling/strains - again the local Health Food store can help with those!
Cherished1 -thank you for the kind words - I appreciate the time taken to write them!
AFM - finally did a little album up of Joss' birth and a few family shots of the last couple of months in my BB Gallery -starting to see where grandparents get frustrated with me! :wall: BTW -first time mums - get scared when you start sourcing velvet butterflies for arty shots - Joss will not be thanking me on his 21st birthday,,,
To all our ladies suffering ms and indigestion - my heart goes out to you - may it bring with it reassurance and a deep awareness of the little presence it signifies and may you feel a bond with your mums and women everywhere who have stoically walked this path into their initiation of motherhood
Much love
Karen van
Smallfryplus - wow, really not long now. Sorry that the BH are unpleasant. All for a good purpose! I have not been in your shoes, but I imagine it gets scary....... let me know how you're thinking and coping as the day draws near....
Karen Van - yeah, I like your use of the word stoically. Makes me realise I need to suck it up a bit more and not be suck a sooky.
Hi Dory
Don't feel you have to be too gung-ho ;) I remember many a time wailing over the toilet bowl as I tried to get ready for work and carting sad little cold pieces of Promite toast around to all my morning lessons until I could get up the courage to finish eating it!!! Some days that longer view was the only thing that got me out the door... :wall:
Have a great week!
Karen
Congrats Greenslw!!!! hugs to you and DH and Lincoln!!
smallfry - soon for you!! ;)
Karen van - I'm not enjoying my morning sickness per se, but everytime I throw up, it's reassuring that all is still going strong. I find that if I have a morning where I sleep in, it's not so bad, but then I get myself into a mild panic until I have thrown up - ahh nausea & vomiting becomes a welcome relief (how sick is that? LOL). Oh, and it has to happen at least 3 times a day to be reassuring!
AFM - scan yesterday, all good!! only one peanut, who is 16.9mm long & HR of 163 and very strong, I could see it really beating away!!! (not like last time at all, this really is going to happen!! YAY!!). According to my LMP I was 8w3d, and it measured 8w1d, but then I have a 26 day cycle so I'm pretty happy with that!! Estimated due date is 10th Sept.
all good, just really tired, and still eating crap (bread, bread, bread) washed down with lemonade or gingerbeer. mmm.... I'm, hoping that I will crave vegetables soon, as I'm worried that this little one is not getting the best diet at present.
But having said all of that, this really does feel different - I am bigger, huge in fact, and more sick than I have ever been, so all of that has got to be a good sign!
hi to all the other ladies!!
Hi Everyone, i'm new to your little group.
I found out last week that i'm UTD after i had a loss late last year it was picked up at my 12week scan that bubba had passed at 8weeks. I'm having a scan on Wednesday to confirm dates as my Dr & I have somehow come up with different dates.
So far this pregnancy is different to my pregnancy with DD & our angel so i'm trying not to be worried but its not easy when my pregnancy with my angel was a missed miscarriage.
I hope to get to know you all soon xox
Bonham - Congrats on your pregnancy and welcome!
Bonham welcome and congratulations on your pregnancy, looking forward to getting to know you too.
Hi all, it's been a couple of days since I've posted and you girls have been busy chatting!
Samllfry not long now at all!
:welcome: Bonham and thanks for replying to my other post, I will have my eyes open to see how your scan went on Wed too... Mine is at 1pm ;)
Greenslw how are you going hon, how's your little prince :stork-boy:
dory  plastic surgery on your OB's butt Teeehehehehheh
TwinSister what's going on with you hon?
Karen van 2 more beautiful posts from you... Great advise on aftercare birth, I've copied it and saved it to a word doc for future reference ;)
Milly my love, I jumped up and down about your scan in our bellybuddy thread but I don't mind doing it again :happyforyou: Such a great feeling isn't it!!!
eliselouise How is the ms? Have you been struck with the really bad wand or the not too bad wond?
AFM Some of you may have seen my post about not having symptoms again yesterday and I freaked out again :( I've decided to get a doppler I think and will chat with dh about it tonight, if all is wekk on Wed at my 9 weeks scan I will order one. I think if I can hear the heartbeart once or twice a week I will be much more relaxed! Of course it turned out I was a worry wort over nothing becuase today I am tired and nauseous again
Bonham - WOO HOO!!! so glad to see you in here...i know it is so much easier said then done but try to just love this pregnancy, I've had a missed m/c and it is terrifying the following pregnancies but this is your little sticky bub
Greens - Congrats on the arrival of your baby!
Dory - yes, it has beena massive journey, mostly heartache. I had a due date on 11 Jan and it was not a sad day in any way, how could it be, to wish that bub to be here would be to wish Zen away. I am happy to be in the place i am now, it makes all the difference talking to women who have been in the same situation and to feel the new life growing inside you 9and I do mean growing - I am turning into a whale lol)
Hi to everyone...at work and busy but to tired to go online when I get home at the moment...struggling everyday for the last week.
AFM: as i said - so so tired! No chances for naps yet which is so frustrating. Getting BH contractions, not painful but uncomfortable. DH is amazed with how rock hard my belly gets. Still refusing to think of labour, Its a miracle bub that will just appear one day :)
Greenslw - I'm very slow I know LOL but congrats on the arrival of Lincoln :bluecheer: Enjoy your little man!
Cherished - My m/s was different with each pregnancy too  Shocking with DD1, very little with my m/c and somewhere in between with DD2. It was also very on and off as well - freaked me out too! I'm sure everything is great with your bub, hope the scan goes well and yes get a doppler if that will help you
Hi everyone else and Karen, glad everything is going well with you :)
