India's mum - congrats on the good results! Try not to stress, if the baby is fine and still with you, there is very little to stress about.

Alish - they say putting on weight gradually can help you avoid stretchmarks. It must be true, I did not get any on my belly and I put on 35 pounds with my first, but very gradually, starting with 8 in the first trimester, LOL. Pretty much a pound a week since the test came up positive. Unfortunatelly, I got them on my boobs, there was nothing gradual about the scary-looking porno boobs I grew overnight when my milk finally came in.

AFM - got the preliminary results fo the CVS, which means no trisomies 21 (Down), 13 (Patau) or 18 (Edwards). Those are the most common ones, so I am getting hopeful. The rest I will have in about 10 days, and then probably another week for theb results of the additional test. And I am having another girl!!!!

hmm.. not sure on your dad's dr's attitude?? he dosent need to retort like that!! nobody likes a smartar$e! where is he? ive heard peter mac in melbourne is good.. my friends dad had his treatment there.

luna - ive only put on 5 kgs between the 15-22 week mark then 100gms or so from week 22 - 25 so i havent gained weight quickly.. i got stretch marks when i was younger so i think im just bound to get them! so far none on my boobs!
congratulations on the girl!! another one!! theyve dominated in my belly buddies group as well! hows it all going otherwise?

Congrats Luna! Great news on the results and the little girl

alish - I didn't get stretchmarks with DS until the last 2 weeks I think - and I got them as a teenager Not fair. But they're not bad and they're faded pretty much totally. I didn't use any products to reduce them either. Hope they don't come up for you though!

Melster - can you get someone else to talk to? A great doctor should also mean a great manner. Did he have an idea about the confusion, whether it is irritation from the radio or a deterioration? It might be worth getting a referral to the social worker - just so you guys have someone to talk to who doesn't want to kick you out in 5 minutes. Also worth talking about advanced care planning - if they don't know what that is, pm me and I'll tell you.

Cheshire - I hope DD1 is better soon! So exciting about getting lots of movement

angel - great news on finding that hb, even for a little while, it's pretty exciting.

AFM - DH monopolises the computer in the evening, so I don't get much chance to get on on the days I'm at work (Mon/Tue). Back has improved now, to the point I can do normal things again which is good. All is well here - belly is expanding, people on public transport are beginning to notice, lol.

omg ladies......this heart burn is getting me so upset. Last night i threw up that much that i was in tears. I was afraid to go to sleep...... It burnt that much and at one time i couldnt get my breath. So so so painful that i was on the internet in the wee hrs trying to find something. I didnt go to work today and text my ob this morning because i was beside myself. So he is calling the chemist and i can pick some tablets up soon. Its so hard to believe that heart burn could be so painful. My stomach must be really high and squished at the moment....i pray these tablets work....even when i drink fluid now it wants to come up and i feel full

wannabe......i think mum finds it hard to talk to him because of his manner....he is a great surgeon and apparently one of the best....but his people skills need some work....i cant even explain what he is like. He is just not an open talker....u just dont feel like u can talk freely and ask what u want and be there for ages...he is a bit blunt and straight to the point......i think we will get more answers once he has the mri and we know if its shrunk or not.....ok thanks

cheshire...hopefully dd gets better soon then...

Luna.......oh thats fantastic....im glad some of ur results have come back great..ill pray the other ones do too.....and congratulations on the little pink bundle...join the club

angelfish.....well it was true with dd she came out with a full head of hair......wonder what this be will be like

Alish.....i wish i had a money tree as well...then id give u some lol........hopefully it sells real soon then....its so hard choosing isnt it.....i still havent decided.......dd will be 3 so my scar would be a bit different to urs.....they also say now with the scars being lower there less likely to rupture......do u think u will at any point u would regret not having a vaginal birth? Im just not sure with me

Back from the Dr, Even he said she is getting worse. It's nice to know it's not just my imagination.
Anyways she was sent off for a whooping cough swab & what a joy that was.
She also has more Ab's for her chest infection & a ventolin to help with her cough as it sounds Asthmatic now.
Can't believe how expensive everything was to buy!

Poor little M was up at 11pm last night coughing & she didn't stop till 5am this morning when she finally feel asleep.
Everytime she would breath she'd cough it was horrible.
Today she's been coughing all day with 5mins breaks in between attacks.

Melster hope the tablets help with the heartburn, i've been lucky this pregnancy & haven't got it yet.
I had bad with both girls.

    Hi ladies,
just wanted to let you know that I had my first 'real' scan today and it went well! Baby measuring 6w5d (2 days behind schedule) and gorgeous little heartbeat thumping away, I just wish I'd thought to ask how fast it was beating! Unfortunately, cyst is bigger now, 6cm, and will have another scan at 10w and then 12w2d to see if it disappears, otherwise I will have to get it drained! ewww! sounds horrible! At least I know it's not causing any problems with the baby, just pain for me!

Hope everyone is good, sorry for the all about me post!

Melster - that sounds absolutely horrible, I did not even know heartburn can be so bad to make you throw up. Maybe it is better if your bub comes at 37 weeks, because if you cannot eat, it will not do her good to stay in there. I hope the tablets help.

Cheshire - take care that you do not catch this bug! There is not much you can take while pregnant, so it would be hard on you. I sympathize with you about your daughter's ilness, mine had an ear infection that gave her a really bad caugh and it is just so hard to watch. You just wish you could take her caugh and runny nose and go through it yourself.

So cool to hear all the good news!

India's mum: So relieved for you that your amnio results came back all clear. Such great news. But I understand why you can't relax. With things having gone wrong in the past it's hard not to keep holding your breath. I'm a little more relaxed the past few days because baby moves so much more often each day now... but it took me 26 weeks to get to that point!
Luna: Fabulous news on the great CVS results! And how lovely, your DD will have a sister!
Becnxavi: How gorgeous! a little thumping heartbeat in the right place. Hope the cyst shrinks soon though.
Angelfish: How lovely you get to stay in the thread! And Honour will have her very own brother or sister close in age to play with.

Melster: specialists can be really funny. (Funny wierd not funny ha ha). IKWYM about feeling rushed and not able to speak freely. I've had that experience with one or two doctors before. SOunds like this guy's bedside manner is a bit awkward so he makes patients and their families feel awkward too. But i have heard that good surgeons are often a bit lacking in bedside manner. As for your choice about the caesar, that's a tough one. I understand why you would want to have a go but I reckon do whatever on balance is safer for you and the baby. Don't worry about missing out on the experience of a vag birth: as long as you are both safe and well. Sorry about the heartburn. Sounds terrible.

WBM: Yay for getting a good night sleep! Pelvic instability sounds very uncomfortable. I hope you don't get it too badly this time.
Alish: How you doing hun? You really going to build a place to live for yourself in the next 15 weeks?! Now that's what i call nesting! Hope it all goes well.
LOL at your description of your sister when pg as a 'big unit'! That's a new one to me!
I got off pretty lightly with stretch marks the first time round: just along the bottom of my breasts so not too visible. My tummy stayed pretty clear. I seem to be going a similar way this time- on breasts and just a light ring of them around my belly button. Not too noticable. I've not gained too much weight (about 7kg i think) but i haven't done anything special. Just lucky i think.
Cheshire: Hope your little DD is ok. Could she have caught whooping cough in spite of having the vaccine?

AFM: Starting to get uncomfortable sitting down for long periods of time which is a bit hard because my office job involves a fair bit of sitting still. I start to get back pain on one side and a sore pulling feeling at the top of my tummy on one side after sitting for a while. As i've mentioned before too my pelvic floor feels tender and I'm worried it's not coping with the baby's weight on it. So i'm trying to decide what to do for exercise. THinking about pregnancy friendly pilates and swimming. Problem is i'm busy with work, renovating a bathroom and DD1! No time! But i'd better get myself motivated because soon i'm sure someone's going to tell me i'm too pregnant to start a new exercise regime. BUt i feel i need to do something physical to prepare me for birthing; to boost my confidence that my body can do it. I think being fit increases confidence? (Not sure cos i've rarely tried it!)

Hello to any lovely ladies i missed x

bec - that's great news on your scan - the baby stuff anyway! If it helps, my cyst was 5cm and full to bursting at 6 weeks - I had massive pain when examined by my Ob shortly after, then it started to deflate - at our 9 week scan it was about 3, then at 12, it was just over 1. So fingers crossed yours follows that pattern! I still get some pain on my right side, so I assume it hasn't gone completely yet. Hope it goes soon!

Melster - I hope all the stress in your life starts to calm down a little, I'm sure that would help with the heartburn too! Did DH read your letter? I hope things are improving on that front. to you - sounds like you need one.

Cheshire - that's no good about DD! I hope the new meds work really well - did you get a spacer for the ventolin? I hope she doesn't mind the mask on her face. Not much fun. If that doesn't work - ask about steroids (they help!)

pm - make sure you get up and do a lap of the office every 15 minutes, it'll help with the back and tummy pain. Swimming is great when pg - but if you can find a pool with water up to about your tummy/chest, walking in water is awesome too. I hope you can find a nice exercise that makes you feel good

All good here today, bit sore (but that's the norm). I'd better go find all my bank cards and receipts as DS just emptied my wallet. We're off to the botanical gardens today to play in autumn leaves, better get ready! Oh ew, I smell a dirty nappy. Gotta go!

WM we got the spacer & mask and she was really good at taking it.
Good news the ventolin works & she only woke a handful of times due coughing & even this morning she is coughing less
I'm Melbourne as well but in the Sth Est, sounds like your closer to the city, hope your little one has fun playing at the gardens

Luna i'm hoping i don't get what she has & yes it's so hard watching them suffer.

PM I don't think so as there is no "whoop" sound but we will know more by Fri/Mon.
You could always ask your hospital about Physio programs & i hope you find something to help you soon.

possum - haha youve never heard of big unit? which state are you in? i was from sw sydney maybe its a sydney thing? or maybe just my town i dunno!! she put on at least 30kgs with each pregnancy, i think she loved her food though! i sometimes cant be bothered eating, i still eat but my heart isnt in it
ive been telling the girls is my baby buddies group that i started pregnancy yoga, you should try it its very good.. my dvds go for about 45 mins so its not too long and i feel great afterwards.. not tight and very relaxed.. my back feels alot better too.. i stand allllllll day at work, working in a hardware full of men who dont get it isnt helpful!
hahah nesting? id call it crazy.. we prob wont sell the house by then so we will probably still be here but i just want to make sure its at least started so the pressure isnt on when the house does sell!

melster - i think you are thinking about someone else with the cs/vb.. this is my first.. but im hoping for a vb anyway! i dont really care though! i dont really know much info about either, is that bad?
im hearing you on the heartburn though, gaviscon is part of my daily routine.. its getting to the point where im spew burping.. its very annoying.. isnt the old wives tale heartburn means lots of hair? that would be right, she is going to take after her bloody father... he is covered in hair!! just my luck!! haha!

cheshire - im sorry your dd is sick, could it be asthma or a chest infection? i hope she feels better soon. how far along are you now?

bec - im so glad everything is going great guns this time.. you so deserve it xxx

wbm, indias mum, & luna - how are you going?

have i missed anyone? im sorry if i have and if i have how are you going?

just an update on dampyre - apparently she is still having contractions and vomiting.. they are doing everything they can to stop an early delivery. she isnt in a good place emotionally atm so i dont think she is on bb for now. if you want regular updates the baby buddies 1-15th sep that im in will keep you updated, a girl is in contact via sms with her. i will still update in here though..

all good here, nothing really to report.. dh cant really feel her kicking when his hand is on my belly.. she feels too far inside/low down to me, she have me a couple of good boots last night but when he put his hand there she stopped!

Cheshire - I'm SE too, around Chadstone way. We made the trek to the city and the boys loved it. So many leaves - such an exhausted little boy. He loves nature - and it was a gorgeous day!!! Then I helped my brother pick up pavers for his garden. Even though I didn't do the lifting, I think I overdid it.

    Must dash, stinky nappy!

Thanks for the updates Alish, i really hope they can keep her bub in for a few more weeks.

WM I'm down in Pakenham & sounds like you all had a lovely day out

Maddi has a chest infection, whooping cough swab came back all clear. So we just keep going with the Ab's & the Asthma pump till we see the Dr on Mon.
The pump has helped her heaps her but if she doesn't have it regularly she has the worst coughing fits & she still has a rattle on her chest you can hear it when she's coughs & talks but hopefully th Ab's will clear it up soon.

Nothing else happening here & i'm 22wks now

Oh wow Luna - 12 weeks now and all good test results. It seems like your dream will get to come true this time.

Melster - sorry to hear about your discomfort with the heartburn. I've always found it annoying but I didn't realise it could get that bad.

Alish - Thanks for keeping us up to date on Damprye. I have been worried about her.

Nothing much else to report here. I have my morphology scan next week and my Mum is all excited as I asked her to come. It will be grandchild no. 13 for her but she just loves babies.
