Hi girls.... im having a panic... my nausea has pretty much disappeared today after being constant since 5wks... I am so worried... i rang my obs rooms and doc assured me its normal and it will probably come back... did this happen to anyone?? sorry for the me post but im so petrified of losing this little one and i know you can all relate to that fear :(
T-Hopes the exact thing happened to me at 8weeks. All my pregnancy symptoms just vanished on day and stayed away for 3days. The MS came back for a day only to disappear again. It continued with this pattern from the 8weeks to 11 when it stayed away for good. I was very anxious also that I had a missed m/c. At times I spent almost all day crying over it comletely convinced I had lost bub but on Tuesday bub was still in there doing well according to the Ob. Even now at 16weeks I still have days where I feel I have probably lost the baby. Its torturous and I think LTTTC and lossing past pregnancies has totally fueled my anxiety. Hope you get some reassurance soon that everything is going fab!
Yep, same thing happened to me around 8 weeks, woke up one morning feeling quite good and then burst into tears when I realised I wasn't feeling sick. It came back the next day, it's totally normal to have it go and come back as the placenta slowly takes over. It is so incredibly difficult to believe that everything will be ok....but everything will be ok :)
T-Hopes - My nausea came and went so many times, I kept thinking 'oh thank god ms is over' and it would return with a vengeance every time. I'm sure everything is fine, but totally understand the worry.
Mildez - All of your anxieties make perfect sense. It's totally natural. Also, just wanted to say cool ticker, I love it.
Kit - Hey! You've been very quiet and mysterious lately. Look at you almost 29 weeks...... how exciting :)
AFM - I have this weird high up pain near my ribs which comes and goes. I have no idea what might be causing it... but it's kind of sharp and uncomfortable. Maybe it's my organs being smooshed into their new smooshed up position? Blah.
Thanks so much for replying girls... i was a wreck today... i ended up calling my ob again and they squeezed me in for a little scan... and your all right... bubby is well... its just its mum that is going crazy!!! Heart beat was beautiful and strong and measuring a few days ahead! Such a wonderful relief! I balled my eyes out of course! Its grown so much and im so proud!! Were so lucky we have a gorgeous ob that never made me feel silly for coming in... see him again in 11 sleeps for another scan!! :)

I am 6 and a bit weeks pregnant with a 5 year old and a 3 year old. I had a miscarriage between after DD1 , I didn't even know I was pregnant when I started to lose the little Angel. This evening I slipped over, I landed awkwardly but protected my stomach and now I have an aching side. I wish pregnancy could just be smooth sailing, with DD1 nothing was a problem (other than horrible ms) until she was born premature at 34 weeks. Then I lost my Angel, with DD2 the nuchal scan put my at 1.156 chance of a problem so there was all those issues to deal with, then she was born at 34 weeks as well. This time I just want nice ms, a nice nuchal and to get past 34 weeks to have a nice healthy baby.

t-hopes~I am happy for you that everything is okay. But just remmber that there is nothing wrong with seeing if your little one is okay and to make sure that the baby is okay sounds like you have a great dr.
Forshelby~ yeah i am not to worried about the choesrtol right now i had a problem with it when i was yonger and i brought it down fast the all natural way due to the meds gave me a really bad reaction. Also i got told that being pregnate raises your choestrol anyway the last test was 290 which is really high but they wanted a fasting one so i will find out in a couple of days.
AFM~ i happily get woken up by the little one moving and kicking about 6 am every day its my am wake up call even thoug i dont get that much sleep and i dont have to get up that early it just feels good :)
Welcome kitten i hope this pregnancy is smooth sailing i have had 5 pregnancies and you never know what you are going to get my 1st high BP and induced on my due date the 2nd perfect but bub decided to come 4 days late the 3rd pefect except for really itchy skin and he came 3 and a half weeks early then the next bad nuchal fold bad morph scan ended in our sweet angel not being viable with life and she was born at about 20 weeks then this pregnancy stress from the begining couldnt get pregnant had to do IVF then had a perfet nuchal then a cvs which doctor dropped more waiting and then had an early morph scan that was good then an amnio and the agonising wait for the results which are all good so it is a rollercoaster ride sometimes but worth it in the end.
Angelfish-what a nice way to be woken up in the morning.
AFM-Had my doctors appointment all good my belly is measuring 20 weeks :o i am a little worried my girl will be big my belly always measured 2-3cm below with my boys so to be 2 cm in front is new to me.

T-Hopes you sound like you have a wonderful Ob. So pleased to hear your anxieties were relieved with that scan and that he is doing another for peace of mind which is awesome. Are you going to buy a doppler? I was just thinking after your next scan it wont be to long until you can use one at home and pick up bubs heart beat. At the moment I don't have one but am contemplating getting one for the 3rd Trimester.
Forshelby I am super into statistics so thought the ticker suited me perfectly. I can't wait until it hits 50% hopefully only another month to go. Then I'm hoping December completely flies by with Christmas.
Morning to all. My parents in law are coming t 10am this morning and OMG is my house a bomb. Got to get cleaning. MIL always complains about something even if the house is completely spotless she will go looking for a cobweb to complain about. And DH is coming home today haven't seen him for a week.
Mildez - Yeah i think I might.... just worried ill panic myself if i cant find any heartbeat??? Are they easy enough to use??

Kitten - Hi and welcome! I'm sorry to hear of your loss. Also, don't worry about your fall. I fell down the stairs at work when I was 6wks pg, and was terrified I'd hurt the baby. The dr assured me baby is well protected within the pelvic bones at that early stage, and he was right..... I'm just over halfway to bringing this baby home now. Looking forward to getting to know you better, and congratulations on your pregnancy!!
Angelfish - Sounds like you know your stuff, hun. I have no doubt you'll get the all clear in no time! I love feeling the kicks, too. Bubby seems to get really active in the afternoon/evening, and I could just lie there for hours with my hand on my belly. I can only JUST feel kicks from the outside now, so DP is 'on alert' to feel the kicks when I tell him to run haha.
Ferrals - hehe, your little girl is being rebellious and doesn't want to conform. So great that she's healthy and doing well. What a relief!
Mildez - December always flies by. Eeeeekk.... I'll be giving birth before I know it! :o I hate when guests are coming and the house is a mess... so stressful. Especially when it's your MIL and she feels the need to pick on stupid things like a cobweb. LOL. Perhaps next time you visit her, find something to complain about. If you have to, plant some dirt and 'discover it'... LOL.
t-hopes~ its hard at frist to find he hb you just have to make sure you have enough gel or what ever your using. But after you find he hb a couple of times you will be a pro at it.
forshelby~ yes i am also a diebectic i actually got my blood sugers down faster by reading up on all natural ways of getting it down rather then using the meds when one of the ones i was on was recalled due to causing heart issues.I know what you mean by being able to lay there and just feel the baby move i can do the same thing i get lost sometimes in just enjoying the fell of it. When i think about how long i have waited i can'believe it.
AFM i am finally showing at 25 weeks going on 26 weeks i am so happy i looked at myself today and could not believe it i stood there and just stared at myself i swear that everyone in the store thought i was crazy.Hard for me to believe that in a few short weeks i will be in my third trimester.Also i just want to say thank you to you all that have been a big support i could not have made i with out going 100% crazy with out the support that i have gotten

AFM - Thought I had my old job back (not in the dept I was in thank god) but they hired someone the same day I called! Arghhh, dang it! I was so pumped to go back to work and earn some cash, but no... I was a couple of hours too late. My old boss was really nice, and said she'd call me if anything went wrong or if the situation changed. I was sure to tell her "I'm pregnant, but I'm still good!" LOL
Forshelby: You are working hard at the moment. And in a few weeks you wont want to work, trust me! Enjoy growing your baby!
Tegam - No, no.. I'm really not working hard atm.. LOL. I gave up my job just over a couple of months ago due to a bullying situation, and the stress it caused me. I really would've liked to have my old job back, it was a desk job, and I could do it with my eyes closed. Plus the ladies I worked with were AWESOME and I miss seeing them everyday. (I still visit every few weeks for 'belly inspections' LOL) But I figure it wasn't meant to be, and I was meant to just enjoy this pregnancy. Still, the money would've been nice, and being able to walk into a comfortable familiar environment and earn cash for the baby. Ahhhh well. Perhaps they'd have me back after my mat. leave.
AFM - I forgot to mention earlier how excited my BIL (technical BIL, if I was married to DP, lol) is about the baby. He asked me if he could touch my belly today, and the look on his face was sooo funny. He was like a kid on xmas day holding a present, haha. So glad our baby will have such a lovely uncle.
Hi Girls
Ive been hiding under my own rock... ive been a little too anxious the last few days. All i can say right now is I LOVE MY DOPPLER!!! My dh and mum were saying i need to get rid of it and just try and relax and think positively.. but u know what.. if using the doppler for 1 minute a day puts a smile on my face then im going to keep using it! I am still spotting the TINIEST little bit (like i get a little bit of white cm with a tinge of pink to it) so do get quite anxious sometimes.. i think my dh is realising how much it reassures me when i hear the hb tho so he is quite understanding.
We had a bit of a sad moment yesterday where we were just saying how we dont know how we wld get thru it if something was to happen.. dh got a bit teary which made me cry :( i know we wld get thru it but i honestly dont know how.. i dont think i wld have it in me to go thru the whole ttc and pg thing again. But anyway i dont want to think negatively... i really hope everything is going to be alright. I did a bit of googling and all the stories i read about bleeding after 12 weeks ended up being positive ones so that made me feel a bit better.
Anyway.. enough about me!
Tegam i hope ur scan on monday goes well.. and baby can hang in there for a few more weeks.
Forshelby- Bugger bout that job! But hey if u were meant to go back to work now u wlda got it... just keep relaxing for the time being, and if they call u saying they want u to work then great but if not then u shld just enjoy being a stay at home pregnant lady :)
Angelfish- I hope the 8th isnt too bad.. i found i was absolutely dreading my edd in sept but it wasnt too bad when the day finally came.. i was just so grateful that i was pg.. that definitely helps. Oh and by the way i think its time to make a ticker.. i wld love to see the weeks go by for u :)
Mildez- Hope u got the house all cleaned. I always find having visitors is my motivaton to get moving... really wish i cld just keep up with the cleaning on a day to day basis tho! Hope u and dh had a lovely weekend together :)

Forshelby! that was lovely of you to share your pregnancy with BIL like that. i Understand why some women dont like their belly touched but if you are ok with it is a nice way for people to experience the joy with you!
Reet: If the doppler is a positive thing then yes you should keep it! Your discharge sounds to me like it could be a bit of thrush? Have you been treated for that. It is common in pregnancy and can sometimes not have the usual symptoms??

Reet i feel bigger this time around and i am 3 kgs heavier this time already so i definately can feel it on my little frame i am only 5'3 and usually weigh 62kg but the ivf put 3 kilos on me before i even fell pregnant so i hope i dont put on to much otherwise my legs wont cope.
And the doppler thing i would love to have one but cant afford it at the moment but if it helps you relax then its a good thing i just make sure i feel bub move everyday for reasurance.
Tegam-fingers crossed then scan goes well.
Angelfish-isnt it nice to see a belly it is all so much more real when other people can see there is a pregnant lady comming.
AFM-Not much going on other then DH having issues with work he is a security supervisor and the had a major incident at the night club fri night and some guy spat in DH face so he clocked him one and knocked him out so now the police are involved and the d#ckhead wants to press charges so DH has to go do a statement and get a solicitor dont know how we are going to pay for it.
If it goes to court DH can lose his security licence and get fined.
I dont need this stress right now.

Reet - Aww... hun it's so hard! I'm going to say it again though, everything will be alright. Not sure what else to say except that I just feel positive about everything for you still. I was sad about the job but you're so right. I wasn't meant to go back. I'll be keeping my FX for you and your DH, when do you have another scan?
Tegam - Hehe, I didn't really think twice about it. Being DP's brother I think of him as my own brother, so it wasn't weird at all. I really don't mind having my belly touched, they're touching the baby, not me. That's how I think of it anyway. Best of luck for your scan, hun. I hope it all goes well.
Ferrals - I hope it all works out ok with DH's job. Spitting is assault, and your DH was doing his job, and defending himself. Why have security in place if they aren't allowed to enforce the rules using neccesary force??
AFM - Just another lazy Sunday........... I feel like going out but have no idea what to do with myself.
Tegam- Oh im glad u mentioned thrush cld be causing my problems.. the dr at the hospital said the same.. but ive had thrush a few times in the past and have never bled from it so i didnt really believe her... ill believe u tho!! :) I did buy some thrush treatment from the chemist a few days ago.. i thought then atleast if i continue bleeding i will know that its not thrush related. I finish treatment tomoro nite so we'll see. I havent had any pink spotting today tho so u cld be onto something! Thanks mate! :)

Forshelby- Its funny, on the way to the hospital the other nite my sister was saying she wasnt feeling like anything was wrong.. everyone has been telling me its all going to be ok.. i just need to start believing them! Im more of a believer each day tho :) And yes if ur feeling positive then i shld definitely believe u! U told me i was pg before i even knew! I also remember saying i wanted to be 18 weeks pg when going to darwin for dhs dads bday and u said i will be.. and guess what.. i will be!! Well ill be a week off but close enough! Your good! :)
My next ob. appoint. is next monday so ill get to see baby then and my ob. will be able to reassure me that everything is going great! Without my doppler i think i definitely wld have had to make an emergency appointment before then tho. Im so grateful for it.. its definitely saved me from looking overly paranoid and anxious! My next proper scan will be the 20 week one... i cant wait!!
I hope u ended up having an alright day today.. did u end up venturing out?? Sometimes even just going out for lunch can be enough.. i normally cant wait to get home after a couple hrs! Im so boring!

Reet~ i dont know were i would be with out my doppler either. I could be in the worse mood down and depressed and i hear the hb even thoug i feel the baby move it still puts a smile on my face. every once in a while i will put the doppler to my belly and she really starts to move around she hates it when anything touches my belly
Yes feeling the baby move has made me smile everyday even though i have so much stress latley with the bf and his kids
I dont like talking about it becouse i feel like i am overeacting but the last time his kids were here him and his oldest who weighs 110 at 10 was playing with her father and i tryed to get out of the way and i got kicked in the side. Then later on that day his youngest who has a bad temper go mad at her sister pushed her sister and her sister fell into me i am starting not to feel safe around his kids. And so concerend about my baby's safty when i have her. Do any of you think that i am over reacting becosue at camp this summer his oldest " accidently "came hard down on my stomach.
As far as the ticker i dont want to sound stupid but i dont know how to put one up if someone can help me i would really appciate it

Reet-I hope the bleeding is all gone and now you can relax and enjoy the rest of the pregnancy wont be long until your 18 weeks time seems to be flying now.
Forshelby-Yes i know and in the old days security officers could use reasonable force to protect themselves but since the odd security guard has abused there position and bashed patrons causing serious injury even death the laws have changed to they are only allowed minimal force so basically they cant touch anyone unless they are attacked and they are defending themselves.
This idiot that DH is having trouble with has been a problem for a while and he is banned from the club but keeps sneaking in over the back fence so DH throws him out every weekend well when he spat in DH face that just pushed him over the edge and DH has a low patience thresh hold for drunks so he just dropped him but he also laid the knee into him and through the guys wallet at him so DH did go a little over board.
Anyway the police were from kings cross before they came to work up here and said to DH they understand how hard it is to not kick their ass and told him next time make sure there is no cameras and never use feet or knees as you dont want to cause major injury just knock some sense into them :o i cant believe they said that i said there wont be a next time.
Also the police are going to charge the drunk d#ckhead with failure to quit and fine him and threaten him with court fees so if he drops the charges on DH they will not charge him or fine him so i hope that works.
AFM-almost 19 weeks i have my scan on friday and i am actually not worried about this one and looking forward to seeing my girl i feel her kick and move everyday so i know she is ok in there.
Reet - Hmm thrush, I never considered that one! Tegam might be onto something. I'm so glad my little 'predictions' have been right so far hehe. You're so lucky getting extra sneaky looks at bubby, :) I didn't end up getting out for very long yesterday... I had a craving for chicken so we went and got some and that was it. Right now I'm craving bread but we have none and I don't feel like going out, so I think I need to make some. This will be interesting, LOL.
Angelfish - I don't think you're overreacting at all. I think you need to discuss these concerns with your bf, and possibly come up with some way to discuss it with the kids (in an age appropriate way) and put some rules in place. eg. no rough play inside the house....? There are heaps of sites to get a ticker from, you can just google it, and follow the steps.
Ferrals - I still stand by what I said..... spitting is assault. I'm glad the cops are trying to help him out, that's really promising. The fact that the guy was banned etc really shouldn't go down well if it does go to court, so I think DH should come out of it ok. Really though, it's stupid that the laws have gotten so harsh even though your DH didn't cause serious injury, they're going to treat him as if he did? STUPID. I really hope this drunken idiot backs down. Yay for your 19wk scan... it's so great when the movements start to pick up and you feel them every day. That's about when it happened for me. Some days are still quieter than others though, so not quite into a routine as yet. Enjoy your scan!
AFM - Had a baby brain moment and washed DP's uniforms but forgot to put them in the dryer. (this was at about 8pm last night, lol.. organized!) Anyhoo, he told me this morning he was wearing wet undies and wet socks to work. Poor DP! I felt so guilty........... but I'm proud of him for not getting all cross about it.
Hiya - just a quick one - it's so nice to read your posts and follow your journey's. I so miss being pregnant, but I do like this next stage too - poonami's and all 9 I wore some today... mustard yellow is NOT my colour, but it blends in nicely with the carpet if you don't mind).
Forsheblby - I am with you on so many things, I honestly think sometimes we are cosmic twins. And I remember when you made that prediction about Reet and 18 weeks and Darwin. Had to laugh about DP and wet undies and socks.... maybe he'll also check for himself next time and not just rely on you to do it all?
Reet furbaby hugs got me through too! Hope you survive whilst the man is away.
Ferals - it is so so very nice to hear you say that you're not too worried about the next scan.

Angel - I do not think you are over reacting. You need to do what you think is right to protect this bubs. Now with the ticker - first of all you have to make one. BB has some I think . I used Lilypie. Once you've made it on Lillypie, then you copy the "code" and paste it into your signature on BB. Then hey presto - it should come up. I am so bad with computers and stuff and I worked it out so I have faith you can too.

Sorry to anyone I have missed...belly rubs. Take care. All good here. MIL was visiting last week and it was good to see her, but as she wasn't staying here, the arrangements for her getting her and getting to where she was staying and the fact I was never really told what time they would be arriving or leaving, just got tiresome. I would just lay dwn for a nap and they would ding the door bell. So it's good to have some time to ourselves, Hannah Bear, the furbabies and me. But knowing me, I will be wanting company again tomorrow. But right now, I am pretty content! yay.
Dory - LOL @ the poonami... I love that term. At least it goes with the carpet nicely, looks like little Hannah is quite the interior decorator! As much as I wish he would take responsibility for his own damn laundry............ I definitely enable him by taking that on as my job. I mean, I'm here all day. Surely I can provide dry laundry? Is that wrong? I just kind of see the domestic stuff as my job now, as he's the one out there earning the money to PAY for all the stuff in the house, and the house..... goodness me I've somehow time-travelled back to the 50's. But seriously, if this stuff isn't my job, what is? Ikwym about feeling drained after having constant visitors. How are the furbabies adjusting to Hannah? I'd love to know what strategies you used if any since we have a kitty and a puppy who are very much the centre of attention. Oh and one more thing. It's just so wonderful to see you reach the other side of your very long very harrowing journey to motherhood. I think of you often, and it makes me smile to know that you got through it all. It really is amazing what you went through to get to where you are today. :) Enjoy watching your little girl grow!

Yep back to Sunnybank but Dr Shilton has retired so im really missing him gosh he was a great OB but the hospital is great i was def spoiled the four days i was in with Ella gotta love the midwifes except one cranky older one.

Forshelby-I dont get how your baby is the size of a banana i had Abbi at 19 weeks 5 days and she was the size of a 17 weeker because of her skeletal dysplasia and she was still a decent size she was 18cm long and her little head was the size of a tennis ball maybe the banana refers to the weight i know they weight about 200-300 grams about 19-20 weeks but she was most definately bigger then a banana.
Kellie - Hey, long time no see! I chuckled at the banana thing.. and I reckon your ticker is flying, too! I remember the old TTC forum days, feels like so long ago now. Come out from under that rock, hehe.
Ferrals - :hug: Your poor little girl. I'm sorry you had to go through that. In reference to the banana though (ok, awkward segway there..) maybe they mean the big giant qld bananas we get around here? Some of them are pretty huge.... :)
AFM - DP was cranky when he got home because I didn't do the dishes or, well.. anything today. He said he knows I'm pg but I'm not crippled. That really hurt. I know I was slack today. I get it. I didn't disagree with that part... but I felt like saying 'hey, YOU get up and do all the housework with a giant melon in your tummy, a sore back, aching hips and weird crampiness!' I just felt like a lazy day today, y'know? So I ended up feeling really worthless and did a bunch of laundry out of guilt. (while I had a quiet little cry to myself) I know this stuff is my job. But it was one day! Most of the time I run a pretty tight ship. Afterall, who did most of this stuff while working full time?? ME! Now that I have all the time in the world, I don't see the urgency to get everything done all the time. It's not going anywhere, and neither am I. Does that make sense?
I think he just had a really sh** day today and was cranky in general. I don't know what my problem is some days, I just feel de-motivated, lonely and useless hanging around the house. Getting told off like a naughty kid just made me feel even more useless. Sometimes I don't feel like cleaning all day. Sometimes my frigging back hurts and I have a headache. But you know what I never do? Answer back or defend myself. I guess there is no defending laziness, but really I didn't think it was a huge deal. So the dishwasher needed unpacking. And there was some laundry to fold. So?! :( Lucky for me he got over it pretty quickly, maybe because I looked so sad. Ok that's my little rant for the evening.
Forshelby- My dh has started making little comments like that.. nothing too serious yet tho. The other day he said he wld rather me quit work so i cld do a bit more around the house... oh and he also said that im lucky that im always so efficient with housework etc. cos ive really let it all go and he hopes that i can go back to my old ways and this isnt the new me. Well i hope it isnt either!
I definitely know what u mean tho.. theres some days when u just dont feel like doing anything.. i am very lucky that my dh works away.. i can be a complete slob and get away with it! I normally try and do a super clean the night before he gets home but it backfired last week when i had bleeding and spent the night at the hospital.. nothing got done before he got back the next morning! He understood tho :)
You know whats annoying me?! My dh is on my back about everything i eat or drink!! I didnt want to mention it cos i feel bad but before my *b* (dont want to mention the word.. im sick of it!) episode on wed i went out with a girlfriend and had sushi.. i knew i shldnt have but i cldnt help myself.. my dh got so angry when i told him that nite :( i guess it might have been the universes way of saying hey! im sending u out a warning not to do that again!! Oh and i drank a coffee this morning (finally listened to ur advice.. really needed some motivation) i was talking to him and mentioned that it really worked in energising me and he got angry at me! I shldnt be drinking coffee blah blah blah.
I also just spoke to him before and he asked me if i had 'dopplered' tonight.. i shld have lied.. cos he got angry at me for that too! He thinks i need to relax.. grrrr!

I think its that time of the month for most males really! Mine has been on my case also i take care of the housework( most of the time) and i cook do his lundry.And then do work realted stuff for him also.Then when his kids come he aptment will look like a tornodo hit it really.... And it takes me three days to get it back to the way it was before.
As far as his darling lil children 10 and 9 i have talked to him about it and he says that i am just overeacting and the kids will do it on accident. When i frist got together with him he would let them toss balls around the kicthen knock stuff over as i was trying to cook. They dont know how to act at all maybe its a pegnancy moment why i am such a bad mood but every three weeks now i just crindge

My DH has had a dig at me to but not for being slack i got into trouble for not leaving the housework when i was so sick with this flu but i just cant look at it i will do it in bursts do a load of laundry sit down for 20 minutes then do the vaccuming then sit down you get the picture i was so crook but with DH and 3 teenage boys i had to keep on top of it the kids will do dishes ect but to get them to clean toilets and mop YEH RIGHT!
:leap: well ive been given another two weeks and i get the feeling that, that will be the story now until the end "oh well we'll see how things go for the next two weeks"
So knowing me :redface: I made the appointment for three weeks which gets me close to the 34week mark and then i only need another 2 weeks and ill be 36 and they can do what they like! :rofl:
Baby is perfect, tall and skinny (well not when pregnant) like its mother! Fluid still 8.5 so only lost .1 and
double :leap: baby is head down so that took A LOT of wind out of their sails. Apparently babies in distress over low fluid cant turn! Clever little Smidge i have.

Hi everyone-- I was out of commission and not getting updates-- don't know why, but hopefully, I will figure out how to get it fixed. Couldn't sleep again, so I got "caught up" on multiple pages of everyone's journeys... It's good to read your posts; I didn't feel so lonely with my insomnia.
I've been just waiting to feel the baby move here. I have a doppler which has been reassuring... and I celebrate 20 weeks this week-- woo-hoo!
I have an ob-gyn appointment this Friday, and I am hoping that they give me info about childbirth classes. I am clueless. Also, I hope that our little baby boy is doing okay inside-- honestly, sometimes, I don't "feel" pregnant-- or can't quite believe it-- until my head starts to say, "look at yourself." Plus, my right hip hurts wicked bad...and that is definitely pregnancy related.
Kitten: Welcome and I hope all goes well with your pregnancy.
Dory: You give me inspiration to keep hoping and hoping that all will go well in the end!
Ferrals: nice to hear from you; I agree with Forshelby... your DH was doing his job and some people will keep doing annoying and rude things to *push* the limits. I hope everything works out for your DH, in his favor, and he gets support from the law. Also, I am glad to hear that you are doing better...
Forshelby: Yikes-- I know what you mean about the housework and hubby. I feel so guilty though 'cause my hubby is *totally* carrying the load here-- I am on so many restrictions 'cause of my former miscarriage and 'cause of the high risk pregnancy, that we have had to let some things just slide around the house. We did clean together on our day off for a few hours-- hubby did the vacuuming and I did the scrubbing and dusting. He already does the laundry---because of the lifting involved-- and it's my job to put the clothes away. But sometimes I am so tired and lazy that I don't even do that. So, usually, when DH criticizes me (gently), it is because he knows that I need to move around some more.
Reet: I hope that your bleeding stops -- vanishes!-- and that you are reassured in every way that all is well.
To all the ladies that I missed--- Keep the faith! Ha! I should listen to my own advice LOL. I just started maternity leave negotiations with the church where I serve. Heaven help me-- I sometimes wish we had a human resources department. Hopefully, I will be able to transition the church without a lot of speedbumps along the way. Whoever takes my place will need to take the congregation through Lent, holy week, and Easter. Since I am a solo pastor (and the first clergyperson there to have a baby) this will be NEW for everyone. Boy, Christmas will be different this year. Definitely!
OH sunshine i do not envy you! Whilst the love and support will be showered upon you, the politics of your work would be a nightmare! Have strength and 'keep the faith' :lol: You know what i mean! 20weeks YAY
Sunshine - aw schucks! You are an inspiration too you know...congrats on 20 weeks, it is such a milestone. Less days to go than have already gone! Yay.
Forshelby - about the pets and bubs? Can't comment on how to manage a woofa but the kitties? We probably did all the wrong things. But as our cats are indoor cats ( they do have access to an outdoor cat enclosure but don't roam) we set up babies stuff as early as we could given our emotional journey in the pregnancy. We wanted them to get used to the furniture. We let them sleep/crawl on it initially to suss it out and then once they were comfortable with the stuff, started to teach them not to go on it. Both positive rewards and scolding, depending on what they were doing. I played sounds of babies crying to the cats for weeks. DH also brought some of Hannah's blankets home from hossy and let the cats sniff them. Now, we never leave her alone with/near them. I read somewhere that pets should just be banned from the babies room. That wasn't something we could put into effect. Some people recommend getting a net and draping it over the cot/sleep space - we will in time. My SIL suggested putting the cat travel cages to the door of the room and that kept her kitties out. Apart from that? It's just vigilance and we reward the cats with love and treats when they do the right thing - so when they sniff Hannah/or her stuff and then walk away. Mostly our cats don't seem to really pay that much attention to Hannah. I think they don't see the point of the new addition to the household. Oh we also make sure when she is asleep that we give them attention, so they still feel loved.
Tegam - you are welcome. You did the same for me. I have been trying to do the same for some friends who just had twins. LOL re tiles. We have tiles in most of the house just not the bedrooms/lounge. We needed to recarpet but decided to wait awhile..... just as well. Although the best carpet cleaner I have found is some biozed laundry powder. Dilute it with water and put it in a sprayer. Works pretty good and cheap as chips.
Forshelby - I do you know what you mean about the feelings of losing motivation, boredom and inadequacy..baking can only go so far in that department huh?... luckily I was a bit like Sunshine, high risk preg and not supposed to be doing much... and a bit like Ferrals - I couldn't help myself, but I did try to avoid doing too much and any heavy stuff. It's still that way for me whilst I recover from the caesear, but I can do more than I could during the preg. On top of that it doesn't help to feel criticised. I so get the crying...I did a lot of that too.
Best advice? Talk to your man and just let him know what's going on for you. Yes you do have more time to do stuff around the home but you are also doing something WAY MORE IMPORTANT THAN HOUSE WORK - tell your man he can either have you doing your absolute best for the little precious life growing inside you the one you both want so much or the washing up, but because you are the one doing all the gestating, it's your call and you say baby!
But if you really are still keen to do the housework, set up a roster so that each day you have a VERY LIMITED number of tasks to do and discuss with your man what takes priority.
When baby does come... the housework, at least initially, will slide anyway so why not get him used to it now? I drove myself spare trying to even just do the basics. Just lucky that DH doesn't seem to mind.
Anyway, time for me to try to catch some precious zzzzz's. I have so lost my preg ability to sleep at the drop of the hat.
