Hi -- Just wanted to say HURRAH to Ferrals and *** imagine a jumping pregnant lady here*** !!!! HuRRAH!
I am off to see the shrink. We broke down and DH got a doppler-- but it has helped some...We have only used it 3 times...I like just knowing that it is "in the box" even if I don't use it hardly at all. Now, you see, how weird is that???? Oh-- the head shrink really isn't a shrink-- just a professional counselor who I "dump" things with-- once a month or so.

Reet - oh sweetie.... that is such a terrible thing to say to you. Please disregard it. Because as much as you don't believe it, it does sow the seeds of doubt in your mind when you have a negative day. I remember talking to my obs about stress and pregnancy.... as I saw an article which said basically women who didn't slow down and were anxious caused their m/c.. it was the only time I ever saw him get really emotional ( well apart from tears in his eyes at times during our heartbreaking journey).. and he was angry that people perpetuated this old wives tale/myth.
There are no guarantees in life - pregnancy included. All you can do is try and make the best fist of the hand you've been dealt. I completely understand your feelings of there is no safe time, I felt and feel that way, about pregnancy. I wish I knew the answer to why some people have to carry such heavy burdens.
let me say this - you have done nothing wrong, you did nothing wrong, you did not cause the tragedy of your m/c, and it is so totally ok to be anxious and stressed during this preg. Don't feel guilty! I agree with Forshelby... in fact sometimes I think Forshelby and I are some sort of cosmic twins given we think so much alike. Just try and be positive in this moment, and in a while, you'll realise that a few positive/thankful ( aka not insanely anxious) moments have strung together. There will always be really hard days... I know it doesn't feel like it now, but in time, you will look back, you will be holding your bubba and the pregnancy will seem to have just rushed on by and you will miss it.
And bra size has nothing to do with ability to BF...
Kell - are you going to Sunnyb for this bubba? I was up there today, showing off and dropping into the well baby clinic. A friend of mine whose only maternity experience is at the Mater ( for a d&c) said when she visited SBPH that she really liked it. It does have a nice feel, a bit like a family feeling? For a relatively small maternity hossy they do a roaring trade. 11 babies on Thursday... and some friends of mine are there now... being induced for their ivf twin girls....
Tegam - how are you going? Have you been working in the SCN again? Getting much closer....
Forshelby - oh you poor girl - that discomfort! Did you have a full bladder? Usually the newbies require a full bladder! Eeek. I am happy that bubs looks well and I am glad you don't know gender. We didn't either until the happiest day. And I agree, a lot of placentas that seem low lying at this stage move up out of the way by themselves. I so understand not wanting a casear. Do you remember how much I bleated about the prospect of having one? I was banging on about it for ages and was disappointed at every stage it looked like I would have one - when bubs was breech, when bubs just wasn't coming... and then I ended up with an emergency one. I suppose at least I didn't "choose" it is the only consolation apart from the fact that little miss Hannah Bear is here.
Sorry if I have missed anyone, its not intentional. Here's a question... is Murraycod in this thread or another one? Belly rubs to all and take care of your bumps.
Ferrals~ i just want to say congrats on the healthy baby girl i sat here and cryed like a little baby becouse i am so happy for you.
Reet~ that is a horrible thing to have said to you about stressing causing the baby to be stressed my bf tells me that daily so i understand how you feel i am sorry that you had to hear that.

AFM i had to go in and get put on a mointor for 20 mins the other day the dr just wanted to be safe baby hb and the movement was good. But i got consered when i looked at the bottom of the paper and it said that the diganoises was decressed baby movement? i feel the baby more now then before

Murrycod is just laying low i hear from her from time to time i think staying away from BB is doing her good i miss her antics on here though she always made me laugh.
S&S-i am seriously thinking of getting a doppler after everything i have been through i just want reasurance that she is nice and snug in there every night before i go to sleep at night Oh to be young again i had my boys when i was 19,21,23 and it never even occured to me that something could go wrong i just went for u/s to look at bub and then went into labour and popped then out without thinking of cord knots, stillbirth and all the horrible things that we all now worry about.

Angelfish-ahhh! the dreaded step kids i thank god mine is a good girl she is just very clingy and cant amuse herself very well but she is well behaved and loves me to bits i cant wait to tell her she has a little sister on the way.
AFM-I am still on cloud nine i had a better nights sleep last night although i am fed up with this coughing and bub is not real happy with it she isnt moving a great deal but i suppose if i had whooping cough with Abbi and she was ok then this one will get through this flu.
Ferrals once again I am so pleased you now have confimation bub is healthy. I too think of Murray and hope everything is going well with her and her beautiful little girl. I gathered she was laying low. I too freak out about the most bizare things. All the crap stuff I see at work I am like that could happen to anyone so I wont be resting until this bub is safely in my arms (and then I might have to stick an apnoea monitor on it as I'll be petrified of SIDS)
angelfish why did your Dr want the CTG done? I was just thinking if you said bub has been quiet or something that might be why they wrote decreased fetal movements. When we get a woman for assessment we need to write a reason maybe thats the same as where you went and if you and bub were otherwise well they might have been exaderating why you were in. Just a thought anyway.

Audax - I did some reading about the low lying placenta and feel much better, as you said most of them move so all good. I didn't know the rice was a risk? Are we talking cross-contamination here?? Enjoy your banana bread, I made gingerbread and it's soooo good. :)
Ferrals - Rest up hun, and kick that cough to the curb!
Iona - Tell me about it, both DP and I are a bit disappointed that they didn't ask or anything, and it took up a huge chunk of our day (he's only on holidays for another day) so that sucked. I felt like a bad mother for getting bored.. but he would hardly let me see the monitor, and kept looking at the same things over and over, which was really blurry. *sigh*
Sunshine - I don't think it's weird at all to be comforted just by having a doppler. I say do what you need to do to feel better. Seeing a counsellor is probably a great idea so a professional can tell you you're doing just great.
Dory - Hehe, I'm very flattered by the cosmic twin comment....... I've looked up to you so long and to be 'put in the same basket' is well, flattering. :) I was lucky and got to pee half way through the u/s, so it wasn't so bad. He wasn't pushing hard enough I think so the pictures were blurry and it took him forever to work out wth he was looking at. He didn't give us any descriptions or chit chat, it was rather sterile and I felt a bit sad that we 'missed out' on this little milestone. I do remember how upset you were at the prospect of a caesar, it's not an exciting thing at all in my eyes. I was saying to DP yesterday how I would feel so cheated if I had to have a c/s for our first bub, and then possibly be stuck having another if we choose to have a 2nd bub. (3rd technically I guess) He said he understood how I would want to do it the 'natural' way, and that I must feel ripped off at the idea of them just handing me a baby, no labour, no going through the fire and the flames... just 'here's your baby'. If however I needed an emergency c/s or was told it's the only way, then that is that and I'll just be happy to get our baby here safely. Still, I feel a bit crazy for WANTING to go through the agony and the suffering. It's almost like a rite of passage to me. And to think I was so scared of giving birth before I got pg... now it's just something I know I'm going to do and I'm not afraid at all. :) Enough of my rambling about my crappy scan etc, how is Miss Hannah, and of course her gorgeous mummy? I'd love to see a pic of the little princess if you're happy to share.
Angelfish - Tell your bf not to be such a d*** and that last you checked, he's never been pg, so what does he know? (Perhaps you'd like to be a bit more elegant about it than I have been though lol) Also, I would refer to the analagy 'it's like being told not to think about pink elephants.' Now I'm thinking about pink elephants. I hope he eases up soon and gives you some decent support. Hopefully bubs was just having a relaxing day floating about the womb, not kicking up a storm. It's great that you feel lots of movement, that's a good sign.
AFM - It's DP's birthday today, and he doesn't really like to celebrate much. Since his mum committed suicide, it just hasn't been the same for him and he always says that was 'their day'. So since he didn't want a present or anything, I went out and bought him a mini pavlova (one of his favourites) and called it his 'personal pav'. He loved it. I'm not sure what else I can do to make his day though so I'm just 'on call' for anything he wants lol. Grandma sent him some money for his bday too which was really generous of her, and she even included an extra hundred for me and the baby. How lovely is that?? I was very touched she would be so generous towards me, when it isn't even my day. I told DP to use the money on whatever he wanted, and he said he wants to buy the baby furniture with it instead of something for himself. Sooo sweet. I've already decided to give up any presents for my bday in honour of his lovely sacrifice.
Ferrals- Congratulations!!! Im a little slow in replying sorry. Am so happy for u!!! Hope u enjoy getting ready to bring this gorgeous little girl home :)
Oh and ferrals i have ordered a doppler over the internet.. im still waiting for it to arrive.. it was off an auction site.. i think its called Oztion or something. Ill pm u the link. It was really cheap.. just under $100.. it looks great tho.. it has a 3Mhz probe which is apparently really good for hearing the hb and it shows the bpm. Im just hoping it turns up now!!
Forshelby- Re. the sushi-I think the rice grows bacteria really quickly.. like even when u cook it at home its not safe to eat the next day. I found this out not long ago. I have eaten rice 2-3 days after cooking it before tho.. oops! I have been tempted to go to a sushi place and ask them how fresh the rice is but really as if they will tell the truth anyway! I so feel like sushi still but am a little scared.. what happens if just out of really bad luck i got food poisoning.. its just not worth it!!
Thankyou for all ur words of wisdom too.. it all helped. I have started challenging my negative thoughts too..that definitely helps! Im also re-reading a fave book of mine.. The Power of Now.. have u heard of it?? I love it.. basically it says u wont go thru anything that u cant deal with in this present moment.. its so true.. its only the future and the unknown that ur mind cant deal with.. ive just gotta remind myself of this everyday! I am feeling better today tho.. and do u know why it is! Because my pants are getting tighter and tighter! I have had to undo the button on 3 pairs of pants now.. haha.. its a bit scary because i think a bit of it (well probably most of it!) is from being super lazy and eating crap tho.. im still wearing the same clothes i wore in year 10.. it will be hard not to have those clothes anymore to wear! Dont get me wrong tho.. I LOVE THE FACT IM PREGNANT!! Theres just a few little things ive gotta get my head around :
And that is so frustrating about ur u/s!! I was going to get all excited when u said it took so long.. until u said that u didnt really get to see the screen and the pictures werent too good :( My dh gets a bit frustrated if the waiting time is more then 20 mins to go into appointments so i can understand how annoying it must have been laying there for 2 hrs not really getting anything out of it!
The main thing is ur baby is growing perfectly tho... :)
Sunshine- It wld probably be a good idea if i got someone to 'dump' my issues onto too! I have learnt its best not to talk to family about my anxieties and fears.. they dont understand!! I dont even really understand!! I hope ur session made u feel better. Im hoping i dont use my doppler too much either.. i might try and make it a once a week thing.. i cant wait til it arrives!!
Dory- Thankyou so much for ur words of wisdom too :) Greatly appeciated! It helps so much when ppl tell me im not crazy for being anxious and worried and that it is normal. But u know what is frustrating for me.. i look around and see ppl like urself.. u have been thru the absolute worst and u have survived it somehow.. (which reminds me that theres nothing in the present moment that a person cant get thru) u have had a right to worry throughout ur pregnancies.. ur fears have been justified. I feel like a bit of a copout when i am so worried about this pregnancy when there have been no problems with it so far.. everything is perfect.. and with my last pg i never even saw the hb.. there might not have ever been one.. I found that m/c so painful to try and get thru.. I honestly cant even begin to imagine what u have been thru. I know its not about comparing stories or anything like that and a loss is a loss but i just still find it hard sometimes not to feel guilty. I felt awful worrying about my 12 week u/s when ferrals was worrying about her precious little girl.. her fears were 'real'! Anyway i hope some of this has made sense... im not even sure if theres any point to my rambling! Thankyou once again :)
Angelfish- Thats frustrating about the drs report.. but please just concentrate on the fact that u are feeling the baby move more and more! Thats gotta be a good thing!! Whens ur next apointment? Do u have to go weekly now??
I hope ur weekend isnt too bad with ur bf's annoying kids! Have u got family that u can go and visit so u can get out of ur house for a while??
AFM- Have felt like absolute crap today! Headachey and nauseaus. Its so annoying.. i have never had headaches before and now its a daily occurrence. And to make today worse.. my dh was meant to fly in at 3.30pm so i went off to the airport to pick him up.. but the plane was delayed and didnt arrive til 4.40pm.. grrrr! It was the longest wait ever!!! But all good now.. atleast hes home safe and sound! :) Im feeling better now too... i think my sickness only comes during the day.. might be all in my mind so i dont have to do gardening and housework! haha

Reet - Hmm, I might cross sushi off the list for the rest of this pg then. I had no idea about the rice thing. I'm glad my rambling (wisdom as you call it lol) helped! I haven't heard of that book but it sounds like a good one. It's very true, I remember some horrible days at work where I thought 'how am I going to get up and come in tomorrow' but it always happened so there ya go. Great to hear your pants are tight.. it's probably not from being lazy, it's most likely your baby making an appearance! I'm struggling in the wardrobe department, but it's ok. It's not forever, and I'm actually starting to look forward to reclaiming my figure. Well, what was left of it after a few slack years anyway. I'm still a bit dirty at the u/s place for taking so long and just being frustrating in general. DP came with me too, and was very well behaved, in fact I think I complained more lol. He got to see the screen though so as long as one of us saw our baby I suppose it's all ok. And you'll see pics on my fb, bubby has a big tummy and looks very plump and cute. :) It's not uncommon to feel sick only at certain times of the day, and the headaches seemed to kick in around the 14wk mark too. I found the best thing was a neck massage, a cold compress on my head, NOT using a pillow which would only feel like cement anyway, and panadol followed by a LOT of water. Sometimes caffeine helped a lot more than the panadol, tbh.

The reason that i had to go in to get montiored i becouse it has taken so long for movements and now that i can feel them he feel that i should be feeling more. Not everyweek yet he still wants just keep on eye on things until i get futher along.I am concertrating allot on the good things when it comes to the baby.I too have been wondering how marrycod has been doing.
Very stressful day yesterday its not the 10 year old that is the problem its the 9 year old we went out to eat with his parents and she will do anything for attion and it gets really imbarrsing people have mistaken her behavoirs for her being five and he does nothing beouse i feel that he only gets them once everyone three weeks for the weekend.

Angelfish - Ahh that sucks. I don't really have much advice in the 9y.o dept, DP's niece is that age and she's an absolute gem. :( There has to be a reason for the behavior though, once you can figure that out, you can make a plan to stop it.
Tegam - yeah, I had my scan on Friday. It was 2hrs long due to a crap trainee, and I hardly got to see anything much. I did get a nice shot of bubby stretching his/her chubby legs out, and I didn't see a penis.............. so I think it's a girl. I might scan that picture so you guys can judge for yourself..... it's a right between the legs shot and I see what looks like a little vajayjay. :) But we stuck to our guns and didn't find out for sure. I told DP my money's on girl. lol. Good luck with your appointment, let us know how you go. I've never heard of no fluid... so I'm really intrigued. I think Murray is just lying low for a bit.
Tegam-lol i love the huge post no i havnt come back to earth yet but i can tell you all the horrible plans i had been making in case we got bad news are no longer an issue i have excepted invatations to a halloween party and a 40th Bday party and i can now go back to work and face everyone with a smile on my face.
I have sent murrycod an email which it usually takes her a few days to reply but i did hear from her last week and all is well she is just laying low.
Hubbabubba-I will enjoy the rest of this pregnancy when i get rid of this dam flu i have been so crook i think the stress got me run down and my immune system has sh#t itself.

AFM-I am still coughing so much and not feeling the baby move i hope she is ok in there i have pulled all the muscles in the front of my belly from coughing ouch!
LOL Ferrals im trying to post more! You never feel baby move much when you have been coughing and now all the stress is over you might like to just give her a few weeks to grow so more before you expect the grand final of football in there!

I had a thought this morning.... NESTING is a load of crap! It was thought up by a male. Im not having fun creating a nest for my little one, im running my arse off now cause i know ill be out of action for a few weeks soon! :lol:
