Taking Cartia even though you dont have blood issues

    Hi,

Just wondering if anyone has taken or been told to take Cartia in early pregnancy to help prevent miscarriage. I know several woman that have taken it, who have suffered from multiple miscarriages and it helped. My sister being one of them.

I have just done a HPT and it was positive, so now just going to have it confirmed with my GP with a blood test. I am very nervous about this pregnancy because of my past miscarriages and the fact I haven't done the chromosome testing and a barrage of other blood tests my ob requested for me... (was supposed to do it this week on the third day of my period) he said he hoped I had a lot of blood so I am guessing taking them all now when I am pregnant would be a bad idea? Will ask my GP tonight.

anyway if I could get feedback from anyone who took Cartia even though they had no blood clotting issues, viscous blood etc. that would be great.

    Hi Silver Bell,

    Congratulations

I can't answer your question directly, but have you had your progesterone levels tested? That is a more likely reason for recurrent miscarriage. Can you ask your doctor to get your levels tested when you go for your HCG test?

It could be that you need to take progesterone supplements (pessaries, gel or injections).

    Good luck!

thanks N2L, I had that tested a few weeks back and it came back normal but I might ask if I can get a cream or something to see if that helps... anything to make sure this one makes the distance... I can't stand to lose another...
