Felt baby moving last night as usual, slept fine all night.
Went to the toilet this morning and when i wiped there was a large amount of old blood.
I am terrified, i have had a mc before but not this late. Can it be something else?
I dont have any back pain that i had during my last mc, but that didnt come until a bit later.
I am so scared.
I have just spoken to my OB and i am going into see him this am to have a scan...
First of all big hun, its so scary when there's blood and there shouldn't be
I had a bleed at 18 weeks which freaked me out too. i went straight to my OB who did a scan and bubs was fine. i knew at my 12 weeks scan that they'd found a large cyst on my left ovary and when my OB checked that, it was no longer there so he said it was most likely the cyst had burst, causing the bleed as my cervix was closed nice and tight and there were was no evidence of a bleed or rupture on the placenta. As a precautionary measure he also sent me for a more detailed scan at my regular ultrasound place and they agreed with his initial diagnoses that it was in fact the cyst that had burst. Since then i have had no further bleeds and bubs is doing well.
Have you had your morphology scan yet? Just wondering if so do you know where the placenta is? If its covering the cervix then its very common to have bleeds here and there as the uterus gets bigger. Also have you DTD in the last 24hrs as there is a possibility the cervix which is very vascular has become irritated and bled some.
GL hun i hope everything is ok i agree with everyone else if u dtd last night it is often the reason but like they said old blood is good blood...
i hope ur baby is in there comfy n happy as can be that way u will feel better
You've probably been seen by your OB by now, but I just wanted to let you know that I had my 12 week scan yesterday and they saw a small contained bleed behind my pregnancy. It was little a little fluid filled space. They said it wont cause any problems but could come out at any time. You could have had something similar and with bubs moving around so much, he/she could have released the blood? Apparently its quite common and no dangerous at all.
I hope all is well.
