19 weeks scan shows bub measruing 8 to 9 days behind dates

we had our 19 week scan friday, our little boy is 100% perfect but measuring 8 to 9 days behind dates. she checked everything including placenta and it is all 100% woring and great and cannot see why he would be so small she said that he is classed as borderline and ill need check up scans.
he usually measures 2 days behind in dates so to be further back has me worried, i see the ob monday for another scan and a chat about what next, but i looking for some info or peoples personal experiance in what will happen throughout the rest of the pregnancy.
i have my fingers crossed he is just going to be a small bub. but want to be prepared of all the what if's, i want to know everything so nothing is a suprise.
we are so happy he is healthy and perfect. and his kicks are so strong, he was kicking the sonographers probe and making it move, she and i could feel everything he was doing.

I am sure bub is fine hun. A few days either side of the date is normal - remember that due dates are always only approximate, so bub measuring behind this date is not necessarily anything to worry about. With my first two babies they actually changed my due date, adding 7 days, because bubs didn't measure with the due date based on LMP. So they were measuring 7 ish days behind dates. When they were born (one at 38 weeks due to pre eclampsia and the other right on her due date) they weighed 7lb 10oz and 7lb 9oz respectively. So basically an average weight, not small and not big. The only one of my babies to actually match with her due date at the ultrasound ended up being born at 41 weeks and weighed 9lb 9oz.

I think this is within the normal range and wouldn't be concerned particularly if everything is looking perfect. Babies don't all grow at the same rate, and there is some margin for error in the measurements made during ultrasounds.

Hi Ashie, At my 12wk scan bub measured 3 days behind, then at 18wks she was measured 11 days behind, they were both done by the same lady. When I saw my Doctor at 21wks she wanted a 2nd opinion and so I went to a specialist ultrasound place and they measured bubs at only 3 days behind. They said it could have been bubs position when the measurements were taken and the lady doing the ultrasound been a couple of mm out and that can make the big difference. I will have to wait a few more weeks to let you know how big she is but she does not feel tiny to me.
Sounds like your OB is going to keep an eye on you so I would not worry to much. Goodluck with the rest of your pregnancy.

I agree with what's been said so far

When I was pregnant with Tristan they added 12 days to my LMP due date.... at every single u/s he had caught up more to what would have been my gestation based on LMP, he was born at 34+3 weeks and 3.09kg, the average 36-37 weeker.

U/S are not 100% spot on and can be out. Also as someone else pointed out not all babies grow at the same rate.

It's great they will be monitoring you a bit more, hopefully just as a precaution and nothing else.
