    20wks measuring 21wks

i had my 20 wk ultrasound last week, it was so amazing and everything was perfect (a big relief), however she asked me how far along i was and i said 20 weeks that day, but she said i was measuring 21 weeks and probably ovulated a week earlier than i thought i did. the thing is i had given up ttc at that time and actually have no idea when conception occured so it could've been earlier. she said it's up to my dr whether they bring me forward a week or leave it as is.
so do i count it that i'm 20 or 21 weeks. has anyone else been told this.
    thanks

We had the opposite, went for a 20 wk scan and was told I was measuring 18w 4d or something so they eventually put my due date a week and a half later after I had another scan at the new 21 weeks.

I was told the same thing & everytime the dr measured my fundal height it was always a week higher then it should be. He never changed my EDD though just left it where it was, DS came 5 days after EDD & he didn't really seem overcooked or anything.

That's perfectly normal. The best time to find out your due date is 12 weeks, or earlier. After 12 weeks, each baby grows at a different rate. I would just with your original due date. Bub will come when he/she is ready to anyway.

I'm with Jodi... leave it as is.

I had the same thing happen at my 20 week scan by the way, bubs was measuring 21 weeks. Unlike you however I was counting days religiously and know pretty much exactly when I ovulated, so I know my dates are right. Looks like I'm just gonna have a big bubba. I was 9lbs when I was born, am now 175cm and 70kgs. DH was 7lbs when born, now 190cm or something (6'2") and 100kgs. Two large people = large baby I guess!

I'm not too concerned. My mum birthed me at 9lbs, breech (one of my hands/arms and my bum came out at the same time ), naturally.

yep def dont worry about it. i remember being told the later in the preg the more room for 'error' - ie may measure above or below and a week either side would def be right. My OB said til about 12 wks it is more developmental (even better earlier) and so easier to measure for dates and after that the later you go the more genetics have to play a part (same with diff body parts measuring diff ages ie my DS had legs that measured about a week 'older' than the rest - he must have just had long legs - as i do - not that you could tell when he was born or now)
