    Argh the headaches

I woke with a belter of a headache starting up today. I was hoping they'd ease off some now in the 2nd trimester. My problem is they can turn into a migraine, grrrrrr.

I took some panadol & it helped for about 30 minutes. I hate taking anything but the pain is just too much to deal with if i don't.

you can take panadeine for headaches if panadol isn't working.

not sure if you've done this in the past, but chiro treatment can help heaps too - i have suffered migraines forever and the only thing that gets rid of them (and damn quick!) is a trip to the chiro.

the other thing, if i'm having mild but annoying headaches - a drink of coke will help. i've only had to do it once since pg - succumbed after 5 days of headaches and nothing now for four weeks! i find the caffeine helps heaps...

    Thanks everyone,

I do see a chiro for this, have done for years. For me caffiene & chocolate usually make them worse. I did end up taking some Panadiene & have had a quiet day today. I'm also wondering if my pillow might be part of the problem too.

BlueIris I just started getting headaches too, so I feel for you. I just have a cuppa tea and panadol and head for bed, nothing else gets rid of it. I hope it is over in a few weeks for us!

I have had weird headaches since about week 14. Ugh! I try taking 1 panadeine at first to see if that helps, if not then I take 1 more about an hour later. Sometimes caffeine helps me (I cannot work out why).

I hope you headaches settle down soon, they really can be quite debilitating.

    Hey blueiris,

I see you're 14 weeks - you sound exactly like me! I'm a chronic headache sufferer and physio/chiro has helped in past but not always.

My headaches started at about 14 weeks, really bad ones - my Obs basically told me that if you are prone to them prior to pg, you will get them worse during pg

At my last appt (24 weeks) she asked how they were going and I said that they'd eased and she said "That's about the right timing, coming towards the end of the second tri". Mine eased by about 20 weeks.

    So apparently its all normal!

I haven't had one for a few weeks (touch wood).

Hoping its the same for you!

    hi blue iris... DITTO...

I'd just popped another 2 chemists own pain relief (same as panadeine) just before i logged onto bb....

i used to get migraines before pregnancy.. once every 2 months prob... now i'm UTD i get severe headaches everyday! thankfully only 1 migraine so far.

i'm going to head to chiro soon ... think it's a neck thing as ever since i got preg i've been 'swimming' upwards in my bed.... i.e. i wake up all scrunched up at the top of the bed and head is at odd angle and i have no idea!!! probs something to do with all strange dreams LOL.

    hpe everyone's eases off too.
