Am I sick, run down or is this just normal pregnancy?
I'm 22 weeks pregnant. About a month ago I had a shocking case of gastro (ended up in hossie on a drip). A week or so later I got a mild cold, nothing too bad. Now I'm 3 weeks on and I just feel lousy - but nothing specific I can put my finger on. I still cough occasionally and my nose is a bit runny, sometimes headachy or just thick-headed. I don't have a cough, earache, nausea. Mostly I just don't feel right. My toddler has been sleeping like a little darling (bless him), so I'm getting a full night's sleep - so I don't know why I feel so foul. DS has just been napping for 2 hours, by the time I had lunch I couldn't get off the sofa even though there's plenty to be done. Is this just normal pregnancy with a toddler? I just really thought I should feel a bit better than this!
I mentioned it to my obs yesterday who really didn't care (i'm sure lack of specific symptoms didn't help). Any ideas? I think my iron was ok last check, and i'm trying to take my PG vits a bit more regularly and eat healthily to see if it helps. I already called in sick to work on Monday cos I just felt so unwell I had to lie down in the morning, and thought a day of rest might help. I'm meant to be working again tomorrow and I don't know if I can face it. I'm just so frustrated at this non-specific feeling of yuck!
If you've been sick on and off for the last 3 weeks then I'd say off the top of my hat that you're run down. Try and rest as much as you can (like you are), drink plenty of water and get some vitamin c into you as well. Hope you start feeling better soon.
