Neutrophilia just means that there is an increase of white blood cells circulating in your blood - this usually indicates that there is an infection somewhere in the body (although there can be other causes for a raised white blood cell count).
Hopefully at your appt this arvo you will be given a clearer idea of what sort of infection it could be.
I hope you are feeling better soon...

I agree with Ambah, neutrophilia means you have an increase in one type of white blood cell that is made by your body. It is usually associated with a bacterial infection rather than a viral infection (a viral inefction usually causes another type of white cell called a Lymphocyte to increase). It could be anything from an infected fingernail to any number of things. Your appt with the new Dr should help get to the bottom if the prob. I hope you are on the mend soon.

In my last pregnancy the midwives did a test every month for that. I also had the wee problem and they just gave me a few tablets to take, and checked for blood again the next week. Its funny, I didnt even bother to think twice about it because the midwife was so calm. Its funny how some people make you worry by the way they deliver the message. It happened a couple of times in my first pregnancy.
