    Question hmm movement?

    Hey everyone...!

Last night when i went to bed and lay down on my side.. i felt this kinda pain on the side that was flat against the bed... it was like something was sliding down my inside... kinda like when you stand against the wall and let yourself slide to the floor. It started at my ribs then moved down until it just faded away.... could this have been our bubs?..

I just thought it was a bit early for me to be feeling THAT kinda movement from bubs..

It's not too early to be feeling movement but not around your ribs. Your baby has only just emerged from your pelvis in the last couple of weeks and your fundal height is just above your pubic bone. Often the first movements feel like butteflies in your belly, scratching sensations on the inside, bubbles popping. Sometimes it feels like gas.

If you aren't feeling your baby yet it will be soon and it's one of the BEST feelings in the world!

At present I get a definite wriggling sensation every day around the 5.30pm mark and also first thing in the morning when I wake up and have a bit of a stretch.

I first felt DS at around 13 weeks.

flowerchild- that is what i thought... but it was just a strange feeling.. not really a pain and more like something was moving..

mrsr- yeah i have found that if i'm in a squished pos for a little while.. i get that nervous butterfly feeling... it's kinda strange when it is your first trying to work out what's going on in there!@!

every now and then i do feel like those nervous butterflies in my belly... could they be bubs?

They most certainly could be! Especially if you have a posterior placenta. I know I first felt movements this pregnancy at 13weeks and 4 days - this baby is measuring ahead by about 5 days though... And this is my 11th pregnancy. However, with my others I didn't feel them this early. My first was around 16 weeks with a posterior placenta and my others were a little later with anterior placentas...

I would say those squidgy movements are your little one letting you know she/he is there!

Posterior at the back and anterior at the front. So an anterior placenta early on can create a cushion for the baby to kick against/move against. This may make detecting movement a little delayed.

    Hi Haroula
Poterior is at the back anterior is at the front. If your placenta is posterior then you may not feel your baby move until about 20 weeks or even later. The butterflies you are feeling could well be your baby moving. Most women discribe the first movements as feeling like butterflies of bubbles

aha! well that's what i thought.... thanks

well maybe OB will tell me some more on Thursday when i go in for my monthly checkup! not as nervous as i was the first time, so maybe this time she will record my blood pressure! LOL she said that she never records on 1st visit cause it usually more elevated than normal...!

There are just so many things to think/worry about...especially since it's my first and everything is so new... hopefully second time around things will be much easier!!?
