    Back Pain

I have been having some back pain on and off for the last few weeks - it feels like pinched nervs / mucles?? Some stages is goes into my groin area - it can be quite painfull at times but goes way after a while. It mainly hurts when I am sitting with no back support or if I have been walking to much.

Has anyone else had this? I am petrefied that it is going to turn into m/c - I have no bleeding or spotting.

    Maybe just sciatica (sp?)??

Any advise / remedies would be awesome!

I have just started to feel stronger back pain within the last week and was wondering the same thing.

I have read that back pain is normal but how normal? Mine is worse when i am sitting with no back support or slouching on the lounge, it hurts to stretch it out. I have a demanding job which requires me to be standing/walking for long days - i feel it bad then too on my longer days on my feet.

I also have no bleeding or spotting.

I figure it was a posture thing and have been trying to take more notice of what positions i am in but sometimes i forget. I have decided that in a few weeks when i drop to p/t work i will enrol in a pre-natal pilates class to help strengthen my muscles.

Sounds like we have a similar thing going on

    Thanks Kristy,

Maybe someonw will shed some light on this for us - though if we are both going through it then it sounds fairly normal I would say.
    Thanks again..

    Hi Girls
Your back pain is probably due to your growing belly.
When your belly starts to grow your centre of balance changes and so does your posture. Your muscles are not used to having to support your back in this new position and this causes the pain. Try stretching frequently and changing your position often. A TENS machine may also help as will hot packs. Try to get DH to give you a massage.

    Thanks Alan!
I assumed it was all due to my ever growing tummy!! There is a place in my town that does preg massage - they have a bed that has a hollow in the middle with a padded section to support your belly - are these Ok to do? They offer 1/2 hr back or hour all over massage - is it safe to have all over massage while preg??
    Cheers
