    BH/Tightnings at 19 wks

    Hi Guys,
Just wondering if anyone has experienced Braxton Hicks or Tightnings at 19/20 weeks??? I am getting them every now again and its only thats its bubby # 2 that I know what they are!?!?!
I am thinking that maybe because it is so soon after #1 and thatI had a ceaser that my uterus is just contracting post baby # 1 still and accomdating baby # 2?!?!?!??!
I am not sure... Buts its just made me a little uneasy as I have been super stressed lately and praying that I havent put bubbas at risk of ultra premmie birth or something like that.... have 19 week scan on monday so will make sure everyhting is ok... but just wanted to see if this was fairly "normal"?

    Thanks in adv
    Kirst

    Hi Kitty

Believe it or not the uterus can actually contract all the way through pregnancy, it's just that we only seem to begin to really notice it as our uterus gets bigger.

With my first pg, I only noticed BH from about 20 weeks. With this one, my belly has been bunching up and releasing from about 14 wks.

I remember reading a really good article on it somewhere, thought it was on this site. Maybe if you do a search.

this is my 3rd and each pregnancy they've gotten stronger and more noticable earlier. This time around I started feeling them as early as 9 weeks. They take my breath away sometimes, they also give my a bit of a blood rush and my cheeks get flushed. I too remember reading an article on BH in subsequent pregnancies but can't remember the full details, pregnancy brain

I noticed them much earlier with my second bub - I think I was about 13 weeks the first time I felt them.
I didn't notice them until 20 something weeks in my first preg.
It's normal...pregnancy the second time around is a bit different LOL.

Yeah, I didn't feel them at all during my 1st pg, but 2nd time they were very noticeable, painful and started pretty early - certainly by 20 weeks. It's just something that happens more commonly in subsequent pgs, so try not to worry.

I've been feeling them for a number of weeks and last night had quite a few while lying in bed trying to get to sleep. It's freaky but reassuring that you know your body is doing what it should.
