    Bounty Bags from St V's??

I have heard that you are meant to get a 'Bounty Bag'. Does anyone who has birthed at St Vincent's Private in Melbourne know if they give them out, and when. Otherwise its about $12.95 to order it over the internet. Would you say its worthwhile ordering it?

Normally you get them at your first booking in appointment. When i had DD the first bag had a block of choc...i think thats the only worth while thing in the whole bag!!! LOL. But that wasnt at St V's i got the bag.. was back in NSW

Every bag after that is boring!

I'm booked in at Freemasons and haven't received my bounty bag either. Admittedly I haven't had any 'hospital' appts as such - only visits with my ob. Are you booked in for any antenatal classes? I'm hoping/assuming they give them out then (which is 6 weeks away for me!) as when we did a hospital tour, we saw heaps of ppl walking out with purple bags after their class. HTH!

I'm guessing that might be the go, although my classes aren't for another ...... they're in 3 weeks. Guess I will know then.

    Thanks

I'm booked in to Freemason's and likewise only had Ob app. But I was in Geelong and picked one up from a chemist there. I think you can also get them from a couple of chemists in Sunshine from memory. The list is on the website about the bags.

Block of choc was good, also $10 voucher from Target good.

OMG - you got a block of chocolate???? I didn't!!

I enjoyed reading all the bits & pieces, but then I'm a bit of a compulsive reader.

I also remember reading the one I got in hospital when there was nothing else to read.

Why don't they give it to you at the hospital?

I was told by the childbirth education here in NSW that they don't do them anymore as it was seen as the public or private hospitals endorsing the companies that advertise in them. Apparently they don't do them in NSW anymore?

Has anyone else heard that? Anyone get one from John Hunter HOspital recently?

Do they still give you samples? In my other kid's ones, I got things like bottle teats, mini nappy rash creams, my fave a sample of bepanthem cream, great size for the nappy bag (I'm so addicted to bepanthem cream, it fixes everything), ummm nappy samples, like huggies, wipes samples, disposable bibs and napy sacks and 3 thick and informative books about pregnancy, birth and breastfeeding. There were more 'things' too, I just can't remember them all. Do they still give you 'things' besides the chocolate
    ?

i got my first bounty bag at my pre admission interview at the hospital. It has been in my car till now - and i got the bag in April. i have never really looked thru it, other then to see if there was any choc in it.
I got - a huggies new born nappy, sample things of: pineoclean, rennie (indigestion thing) sudocream, cocoa butter cream, and fefol multi preg multi vitamins. Loads of various info that goes with the samples. As well as 'shopping for baby' mag and 'mother and baby' mag, target voucher, boori catalogue, ripe maternity catalogue. and, various other leafets about childcare, sids, stem cell banking. etc etc.
    No chocolate.

    When do i get bags 2 & 3?
