Dizzyness while lying down - pregnancy related?

Over the last few days I've had a few moments of dizzyness when I lay down, eg just after or as I lay down. It only lasts a few seconds and is pretty mild, but today I noticed it a little more frequent. Perhaps because I've had a lazy morning of continually laying on the couch after attending to DS hehehehehe

I had my OB appt 2 days ago and my BP was fine (higher side of normal) and I am feeling perfectly healthy in every other way. I seemed to have really popped out in the last few days, perhaps its all the extra blood flow from a pregnancy perspective? I haven't felt faint or anything, and I didn't notice anything like this in my last pregnancy

Anyone else experienced this? Should I go see my GP next week just in case? Or is it pretty normal?

Do you only get it on you back or sides as well?? As you get bigger you shouldn't lie flat on your back as it can block the vena cava and cause dizziness etc. but Im not sure if it happens at 15 weeks or so, might be worth asking to be sure anyway xoxoxox

I'm usually lying on my side Tanstar, I remember reading somewhere that its better to lay on your left side, I think it was something to do with blood flow?

At that stage of pregnancy I always get little dizzy/breathless spells. They can come any time for me though (not just laying down) and during the bad ones I would having to conscientiously breath deeply because I would feel like there just wasn't enough oxygen in the air. It may be a sort of milder version of that for you... My Ob said it was just about the change in blood volume like you suspected. But if you're worried about it can you give you Ob's office a call? We pay them a mountain load to help us with that sort of stuff

Left is best yep - in that case as Mylitta mentioned might be worth a quick call for reassurance.

I've had one this pregnancy, it was just as I got into bed and my head just swam. Not a nice feeling. I had a couple with DD too but they passed. I just put it down to a blood rush. I occasionally feel my heart pumping away too once I hit bed, put it down to the same thing.

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that my heart would be pumping harder/faster than usual during my 'episodes' as well.
