i'm sorry i really don't know what it could mean, but i'm sure it wont stop you being able to breastfeed! you could put some lansinoh (cream for cracked niples) on it to help it heal. other than that i'm not sure... i hope someone has some better advice for you

Yeah I'd put cream on it too. I doubt it will stop you from BFing

my nipples are very cracked looking.. Im not sure if its the same thing, but they are very irregular shaped and almost jaggered looking.
Sometimes they get very sore, and very tender to touch, almost like a stinging feeling. Ive never thought much of it, but maybe its similar to what you have. did you see the doc about yours?

Thing is, they dont even hurt, they just look cracked and sore. Weird.

Is it painful to the touch at all??? I had cracked nipples soon after I had DD and it hurt to the touch as well as when I was feeding! It definately will not stop you feeding, if it is actually cracked it will be mended by the time you give birth, generally only takes a few days, and thats whilst still feeding, so shouldn't stay around too long for you.

If you want to put a cream on it, I'd recommend Lansanoh (sp?) which is a lanilin cream that is recommended for use on dry, sore or cracked nipples and is safe to use during bfing, you don't have to wipe it off when bub goes on to feed.

Hope that give you the info you need!

Both my nipples are very cracked looking, and not sore to touch. They just look very cracked.
