Just wondering (and I can't believe I'm asking this for my third pregnancy) if cramps are normal in the second trimester? I know I get them in the first trimester up until about 8 weeks (has been for all 3 pregnancies) and then I do get them in the third trimester on and off - but I had some yesterday, and now they are back again!!
I'm guessing they are "normal", I'm not bleeding or anything like that, they are just bloody annoying!!! So does anyone else get them in the 2nd trimester?
Do you mean BH's type cramps? If so, you can feel them at any time. I got them heaps in the second tri with DS2, but not this time for some weird reason! I've only just started getting them again over the past few weeks.
Any other type of cramps in your uterus will most likely be normal too, I reckon a lot must be going on in there LOL!
Mel hun with DD i had cramping on and off through out the whol pregnancy... No bleeding or anything else just like pulling and tightening cramping... GP said it was my uterus growing and stretching. They were quite painful at times also...
If your worried cant hurt to get them checked out.. even just for peace of mind... {{HUGS}}
I dunno, its the type of ones that you get just as your period is starting ya know? really low down, and its just started in my back now. Plus, I feel it (TMI WARNING) in my.. uh.. vagina... like its cramping all the way down. Which I don't remember from the others.
I had BH's with DD but they weren't cramps, just tightening of belly at times.
OMG i hoped on this morning to ask this exact question LOL!! I was up a million times last night (just laying awake and not sleeping) coz the cramps i had wouldnt let me go to sleep. They are kinda like period cramps but on the sides of my bump and underneath it. i wasnt so much awake coz of the pain, just that i was stressing out about what they could be
Hey Mel,
are you regular? (if you catch my drift) I know if I get a bit backed up then I get those types of cramps too. I would say to get it checked out just be on the side of caution but I guess depending on how bad they are.
Also how frequently are you peeing (sorry hun) I had some similar type cramps which have stopped since I had my UTI treated.
I had period pain type cramps and backache the whole pregnancy with DD, very annoying considering I barely got them with my period.
I was constantly asking if it was normal as I felt like AF was going to arrive, but never did.
I never experienced BH or anything else though.
Completely normal .
I had Af type cramps with all 3 (actually - all 4) pregnancies well into the second trimester. Just my body stretching but really stressful at the same time.
Also suffered BH from early on.
Cant help with the back ache cause my back is up the creek anyway, so i dont really notice - i just always have a sore back.
If it was me - i would probably at least ring your OB and check for peace of mind. Especially if it isnt normal for you.
Good luck - i am sure everything is fine !
Take care
I only had BH. They did get earlier with each one, but no real cramping after the 1st tri that I remember.
As everyone else has said. I'd get checked for peace of mind if you are worried.
Cramps can't mean anything bad though can it? Like, I'm not TOOOO worried because I'm not bleeding or anything and I was always told that cramps + blood = bad news.
So like, it can't be anything too serious yeah? Or is there some unknown badness about cramps that I don't know about?
I don't know hun, I am paranoid about cramps but I have history with bad stuff like that
If you are a bit concerned then it won't hurt to at least ring your Ob and talk to them even if its nothing that may just me what you need to ease your mind x
I have a lot of cramps, similar to period pain, but not as bad. Just mild aching in the lower abdominal. I have also had unusual shooting pains up my vagina.
Im not too sure if they are normal or not, but i dont get them too oftem, maybe once or twice a week. So i havent bothered to see a doc about it.
I have a lot of aches around my back and higher thighs. Think its just the extra weight though.
