Does anyone else have a placental lake and low lying placenta?

So girls.. I am almost 18wks (on monday) and this sunday past I started bleeding (TMI) first brown then red- I FREAKED and then brown and scanty til tuesday. I had few docs apps and ultrasound and was referred to a specialist in the fetal medicinal unit (scary name!) in RNSH. They found a big blood clot in my placenta (where bub is also) .. I have been advised to quit work and take it easy ( i nannyed a 2yr old full time) and cant do any straining activities.. They are keeping an eye on things..

I am scared cos i dont really have alot of info about this and wondered if anyone has had or currently has this issue..

any info would be much appreciated...

hopeful we are in the same position. I just had my scan today which showed I had multiple large placental lakes and I'm quietly freaking out. It also showed I had way more then normal placental vessels and to me tyhe placenta looked all wrong (been a midwife I've seen many) it was all lumpy and bumpy like a bunch of grapes.

I know we all have placental lakes and their normal but they shouldn't comment on them unless they are larger then normal. I also have a low lying placenta which I had with my last baby and it moved so that doesn't concern me but the lakes do.

Have you got any more info on it? I don't have an appointment with my Ob until 3weeks unless he calls me before hand. My scan also hasn't been read by the radiologist just the sonographer that did it and then other who came in to confirm she hadn't seen a lake/s as big as mine. Not very reasurring!
