Hey everyone,
I am having a bit of a freak out this morning, as I have just realised that the chocolate mousse that my lovely hubby made last night would have had raw egg in it!
I feel like such an idiot for not checking, but there's nothing I can do now!
Has anyone else been as foolish as me, or know anything much about the risks of raw eggs, or just have any calming words of wisdom that might help???

You will be fine. The chances of you getting anything from eating it would be really really slim. Plus it was made in your house so you know where all the food has been kept and that it would have been fresh. It's really not a big deal as a once off
I ate chocolate mousse in a restaurant which had raw egg in it while pregnant with DD, did not think about it till after. The risk is very small as the percentage of eggs infected with salmonella is very small - I am sure all will be fine. Is very easily done.

I do feel very silly for not checking, but I guess one can put it down to a combo of "baby brain" & being presented with a gorgeous dessert when pregnant! Hard to resist! I will be more careful from here on, thank so much for your help!
ive done it a few times in fact ive been downing these awesome banana milkshakes DH has been making me and didnt know until the other day the have raw egg in them, apparently back in the day his mum was pregnant these things were suggested to them to eat/drink from the protien (think thats it) you get from raw egg.
Dont worry, bub will be fine. I ate it when pregnant with DD and honestly... i didnt even realise it had raw egg in it until you mentioned it just then!!! shes now 2.5 and perfectly fine
I remember a few times eating hollandaise sauce made with raw egg until I found out it was a no no. But everything was okay and I am certain you will be okay cos home made and you probaly only have had it once off hun.x
