    Itchy nipple

Just wondering if anyone else is experience insanely itchy nipples.

My left side is pretty much itchy constnatly while the right only occassionally. I just put it down to normal pregnancy joy but its starting to drive me nuts - where i've got to go to the toilet at work and have a good scratch.

the left nipple also seems a little more open than the right side iykwim. The left is also the bigger side for me.

Any other takers? I wasn't going to mention it to the doc but should I?

    thanks for your time

I had itchy nipples to when preg was awful going round scratching all the time. Try wear clothes that breathe better cause I found then they didn't get so itchy.

Sounds like normal preggy stuff to me. Do you use a body lotion like Bio Oil or something? I have started putting (read slopping) heaps of the stuff all over my belly, back, hips and nipples, it helps somewhat. I have also upped my water in take and I have found that that is helping with the itchies.

Try not to scratch I did actually read somewhere that scratching makes it worse

Definately moisturise after every shower every day!! Try and use a light body lotion that doesnt contain too much fragrance as this can irritate!

Your skin definately gets itchy if you dont moisturise. And i think wearing breathable cotton will help too.

    Goodluck hope ive helped

yea i know that feeling.. am trying to keep scratching to a minimum in lectures etc.. but am using bio oil every few days just on my belly and nipples, but have always had terrible eczema and get a itchy bit just by my belly button sometimes after using the bio oil although everything i've read says its totally hypoallergenic so am wondering if is just itchy bit there anyway.. any thoughts? but i totally sympathise with the itchy boobs thing, sometimes i wake up in the middle of the night cos they're so itchy! lol drives me nuts!

also wondered if anyone knew for sure if itching made stretch marks more likely? or worse? when was with my ex he warned me not to scratch when i told him we were going to have this little boy..
