There is no need for you to see anyone until your midwife appointment.
Pregnancy is natural - and pretty simple. You will be fine. If you get worried something might be wrong you can always see you GP but there is no necessity.
Hi ladies,
I'm at 16 weeks and I'm still not quite sure what I'm meant to do!I've mostly got it figured out - I've had the 12 week scan and have an appointment for the 19 week scan. I'm doing the midwife group practice at the mater hospital in brisbane.
But my antenatal check ups don't start until March. Should I visit the GP regularly between now and then? If so, how frequently? The more the better I think - I just want lots of chances to check for a heartbeat! But I don't want to be a nuisance patient.
Emma

As Dragon Cookie said you shouldn't need to see your GP before your appointment with the MW unless you're worried about something in particular. Most appoinments are about 4-6 weeks apart depending on your circumstances.
It would be good to be given some reading info from the Dr at the start to say when you should do what just so you're not feeling in the dark. I think everyone feels like that with their first and I still feel a little like that with #2, I forget so much in just 2 years!
Good luck with it all. Enjoy the pregnancy ride!![]()
