    Unhappy HELP!!!

    Hi everyone,

i hope some of you can help i'm at the point where im starting to wish i wasn't pregnant anymore, my pregnancy seems to be getting more and more complicated as time goes on and i'm finding it hard to swallow after such an easy one with my first.....

ok i'm 23+6 weeks pregnant and up till now i have had bleeding at 6 wks 9wks and 12 wks, I worried alot then found out at my 20 week scan that my placenta is 6mm from cervix and at this point can't go naturally but 70% move and is the reason for my bleeding (couldn't even find sex of baby out because s/he wasn't playing bummed even more).

I'm so scared of having a c-section i'm already having nightmares and is really putting a dampner on me enjoying my pregnancy i know i'll be fine and so many women have done it but i'm more scared of a c-section then some people are of spiders and snakes i have come to realise it's a fear. have already had a couple of days where i have found it hard to get out of bed because my back has been hurting, no body has an explanation for this except that my body is relaxing and one small thing done wrong can really hurt your back....

and today i went to my 24 week check up at the midwife clinic and was told i have high blood pressure and that i'm messuring at 27 weeks not 24. i have to keep an eye on my blood pressure because it can become pre-eclampsia and the fact that i am messuring so big she's not sure what eles could be in there....
everything is really scaring me and i really am not enjoying my experiance this time round, i was told that at my next appointment they will decide weather or not to give me another scan and try and get some more answers but till then i have to sit pretty and worrie.... if anyone has had anything similar i would love to hear from you, to top it all of my husband is just as scared as me because he dosn't understand any of it and it's making me even more nervouse.. HELP!!!!!!!

SOrry you're feeling this way! hugs!

I had bleeding at 16 weeks due to a low lying placenta. It has since moved away.
I also have a baby that is apparently measuring way ahead of dates too. I woudn't worry about that! If its from fundal height measurements, then my bub ismeasureing about 8 weeks ahead! lol

I am not looking forward to a c sect if that happens in my case, but If that's whats needed for me and my baby's health and well being, then that's what I'll have.
I am sure many other people feel similarly about c sects. Just try not to read all these horror stories u see going around. They tend to stand out more than the good stories.

I have had aches and pains all pregnancy. DUe to all these crazy hormones and extra weight I have to carry. I'm sure that they are nothing big to worry about.

Blood pressure wise... high BP does not always mean pre eclampsia. Try not to worry bout that too much. Read up on it, and educate yourself.
Also, make sure that ur caregivers are using the right arm band on u... if u are a bigger person like me and they use a small cuff, it can give the wrong readings.

All I can say is try and relax. I know this is a strange time for you. DOnt stress about bubs measuring big! heck! My bubs is over 4kgs at the mo! lol
take it easy. Try not to worry about ur BP reading when they take it.

if the pains are un bearable, I would say see someone about them, but discomfort seems to go hand in hand with pregnancy.

Good luck and I hope you have a happy and healthy rest opf ur pregnancy

    HUGS

    Hey girly girl

So sorry to hear that your pregnancy has been such a difficult one...you poor thing!

Regarding the c-section, I was told about 5 weeks ago that I might need one too...initially I was so upset and scared but after doing a fair bit of reading up about it, I'm much better...

So...I hope things get better for you too...

    Take care!

I also had a low placenta with my 2nd. I was actually told that i could still have a natural birth due the the fact that it wasn't covering the cervix at all. All they would do is keep a very close watch on me for bleeding etc. But in the end it had moved up, so it wasn't an issue.

I was also told i was measuring further ahead with both my pregnancies. Both babies did come out at 9lb but to be honest, it didn't feel like it. My son was only 5oz smaller than my daughter and he preety much shot out, so having a biggger baby really isn't an issue.

I hope you feel more better about things soon. *hugs*

Hi, I just wanted to pop in and say I hope you're feeling better soon. It sounds like you're more worried about what 'might' happen rather than any clear information you've been given at this time. It might be helpful to tell your dr/midwives/ob how anxious you are feeling about all these things, as I'm sure they will reassure you as well as giving you more well-rounded information as to what it all means.

    Hey,
Just wanted to quickly say that my sis had a low lying placenta, the CS booked in and everything, then went for one last US just to be sure, and guess what? It had moved out of the way! I think it is about 4% likely to have a CS for placental previa (that is on one of the websites I read) so it is fairly rare, and more likely in IVF cases cos they implant it lower down.

So I wouldn't stress just yet, you still have plenty of time to go, or at least prepare yourself psychologically for a CS, maybe talk to an expert to help you cope if it comes to that?

Also, as for measurement of fundal height, my OB doesn't even bother because it can depend on so many things, and is not entirely accurate. An US will identify if it is a big bubba, or if you have more than normal fluid or whatever. If that shows nothing then I wouldn't stress! At 17 weeks my doctor measured it and told me I was more like 18 weeks! I mean, she measured me with her hands, go figure.

    Good luck *hugs*

    Hi Girly Girl
First I would expect your placenta to move away from your cervix long before you are due to give birth.
Your back is a little stronger than some people however it can be damaged by doing things like poor lifting. This problem is caused by a hormone called relaxin. This hormone causes all your joints to become loose in preparation.
You do not say how high your Blood pressure was but I bet that taking your BP was one of the first things that they did. It is common for your BP to go up when you are excited, anxious or scared as you often are when you go for a check up.
The reason that you are measuring 27 weeks instead of 24 is probably due to the position of your baby and is nothing to worry about. In fact most places no longer measure the height of your fundus because it does not accurately tell you anything significant.

    Hi
I am not that far behind you in my pregnancy. I think the advice the other girls have given you is great.
All the best and try to stay calm and positive as hard as that is it do.

    Hi Girlygirl,
If I were you the only thing that would be worrying me at the moment is high blood pressure. Try and take it easy!!
Sore back, just one of those wonderful pregnancy things!! I have really different pain this time, but find walking very beneficial.
Most placentas move, so there is no point worrying about that at the moment, there is nothing you can do about it, I am sure it will move for you!! But if it doesn't and you need a c/s then don't be scared, because it will be the safer option for both the baby and you.

Thankyou all for your replys my bloodpressure is the only thing i am worried about now after 24 hours to let it all sink in and doing some home work (the c-section thing i will have to come to terms with in my own time) my blood pressure alan was 140/80 at the begining of the consultation and still 140/80 20 minutes later at the end of my consultation to make sure it was correct. (my normal blood pressure is 120/70)

I did voice my concerns to the midwife but she seemed really unsure about what to do herself. i'm making myself an appointment at my GP so i can have a second opinion and just to get some more information from someone that might be a little more confident in what they find. and to put not only mine but my husbands mind a little more at ease.

I would like to see my doctor or the midwifes and have a happy meeting be told everything is fine, baby is good and everything is normal, everytime i go they seem to find somthing eles... i spose i'm taking alot more to heart because of my hormones, normally i don't let thing bother me so much.

THANK YOU all again, reading your replys also makes me feel better *hugs* for everyone.
