I just weighed myself and seem to have put 2kg on....I think our scales are lying!:redface:
I have put on 1.5kg. I feel happy with that as I am eating relatively healthily and it appears to be my bust and waist line that are expanding.
How is everyone going so far? Anyone put on a bit more weight? I have put on a few kgs now but nothing to bad.
I've lost a further 2kg's. Will be bringing it up at next checkup cause im rather concerned. bub is moving heaps and measuring to date.
i weighed myself think i have put on 4kg. better reign in the eating!! are there guidelines on good averages???
11kgs so far for me i gained heaps in the first trimester coz i was always eating and at my hens night i ate a whole chicken parma the size of a dinner plate when before gettin preg i could only eat half of one oh well DH has said im gettin a treadmill after bubs comes lol
9.6kg at 26 weeks for me, not too bad, and I was very skinny before.
Well, since I started on the Maxalon to arrest the HG, I have managed to claw back 0.5 of a kg. So I am still well behind the 8 ball, but heading in the right direction now!
im almost 25 weeks and have only put on 3kg, but my bub is small so the docs keep telling me , with my first i put on 13kg and he was 7pound9ounc
pre pg weight 62 kgs
16 weeks pg: 58 kgs (lost weight due to morning sickness)
26 weeks pg: 66 kgs
today (32 week checkup) still 66kgs
so put on between 4- 8 kgs depending how you look at it
but fundal height is correct so mw said no worries, am eating like a pig recently so im satisfied bubs is getting plenty of nutrients :)
I put on a total of 16kgs with my ds but 7.5 months later i'm back to my pre pregnancy weight but i look different tho, wider hips extra
hi there,
im 22 weeks pregnant and saw this discussion and id like to share with you that my ob weighs me at every app.
at 12 weeks i weighed 80 kgs (i am tall.. ) i saw him at 16 weeks and had put on one kg saw him at 21 weeks and put on 1.5kgs
i dont think about what im eating or how much i have kept every thing the same as prior to being pregnant... we eat alot of healthy food naturally but on weekends if i want to eat something naughty i do..
i have to say that a enjoy your pregnant, some people may walk religously and what what they eat but the fluid and blood supply may result that you have put on move weight which will be lost.
eat healthy and enjoy the pregnancy :)
I eat healthy during the week and on weekends will let myself have some naughty things.
I also power walk 4 days a week for 25mins each time. I have been told that the weight we put on doesn't always depend on what we eat, apparently it is genetic. I know a friend who didn't eat that healthy through her pregnancy and she put on next to no weight at all yet other people I know eat very healthy and put on heaps of weight.
Just goes to show that even if we do eat healthy, it doesn't always mean we will keep the weight off unfortunately.
Exactly, i completely agree.. i mean your carrying another human so i dont think it should be focused on how much uve put on it should be do you look healthy, feel healthy, have great blood levels etc.
i think your doing well and congrats on only putting on 2kg.. third trimester for us to tackle yet!!
ive gained 2.5 so i guess we are around a similar stage of pregnancy and both looking after ourselves
p.s i forgot to add that i walk to the train or walk my dog daily.
Yep I take my little dog whenever I go for my power walk
I can understand some people do not want to put on to much weight so they do not have to lose a lot after the birth, because lets face it, most of us care about our appearance but if you eat healthy and still put on weight then I wouldn't worry, its when you eat a lot of junk and put the weight on and all that which is when I would be a bit concerned. But we all do what we think is best for out body and babies :D
Does anyone else wonder how big their baby will be and what determines the size they will be? I'm a twin so was only 4pound when I was born but my partner was 10.5pounds so I'm curious to see how big my bub will be because I am only tiny!
Yes i am curious about how big bub will be because a 10 pounder may do alot of damage haha.
my hubby was 6 pount 13 and i was around the same born.. so does it go off what you were born or just what you eat.
i have heard that a later scan can give an indication of how big bub will be at birth.
(dont worry i wonder how big my bub will be)
Well I was always told it has a lot to do with how big the parents were? But then have heard it has a lot to do with how big the Mum was...
Although my cousin was only about 8Pounds and her partner around 7 and they just had their first baby and he was 10pound 10ounces! He was 2 weeks overdue though.
I was told that my 38 week scan will be to estimate bubs size, so I'll be looking forward to that day.
Yeh mel be looking forward to the 38 week scan also.. so you must be due around the 5 july.
im due the 17th.. cant wait.. hoping for a 7 pounder.. i think a 6 pounder is too much to ask and 8 is big.. haha although they say there isnt much of a difference between giving birth to a 6 pounder or 9 pounder.. its all hard.
Yeah I am due 7th July :)
I don't mind the size of the baby as long as he/she is healthy.
My cousins baby was very tiny even though he was 10pounds, he just had a little extra pudding on him
Feel free to PM me if you wanna talk about anything :)
Thanks so much, your right as long as they are healthy..
i just moved to brisbane.. where abouts do you live? this one your first pregnancy?
both my previous pregnancies i only put on 10kg's.
DD#1 was 3190g(they never told me in pounds)
DD#2 was 8pound 3
i was 6kg's heavier with #2 then i was with #1 at the end of pregnancy
i too wonder about the weight/size of what this baby will be.
Hi there,
I am 20 weeks pregnant with my 2nd child. Currently have gained approx 3-4kgs. My normal pants still fit and do up, and most of my shirts, although the belly is getting in the way and have had to buy some new ones, new bras also. Think the weight gain so far has been in the breasts alone! lol
I gained a lot with my 1st pregnancy, over-ate! I started at 49kgs with him, and when i went into labour I weighed approx 73kgs!! I got back down to 51kgs through exercise.
I am hoping running around after my toddler and not over-eating or having junk food like my first pregnancy, that I wont gain as much weight. :)
I have also put on a similar amount - 3.5 - 4 kilos. I am 21 weeks pregnant. i don't feel like my eating habits have changed that nuch. I am pretty sure most of the weight is around my stomach and boobs. I am curious to find out how much i put on altogether in this pregnancy as I was fairly skinny to begin with. Ideally i dont want to have to buy new clothes after the baby comes but i guess as long as the baby is healthy i will be happy.:D
This may seem like its not related to this thread although is related to weight gain.. how do you know wwhat will fit after u have had bub in hospital???
I agree with you me 83 i am currently trying to gather things to put in my hospital bag.. i was going to get some bond relax pants and some tops to wear in hospitall currently im getting by in my normal clothes except around my tummy i need pants with an elastic band.
i have heard when your in hospital your tummy goes to the stage it was at around 4-5 months which would mean that if i dont gain too much then i can still get by with some stretchy pands and tops. i dont want to live in pjs in hospital!!
any suggestions would be good.
Yeah that sounds about right, from my experience with my first labour.
Any stretchy skirts & the bonds pants are really great too (soft & comfy!) perfect when you have just had a baby. Normal tops should fit you again, but keep in mind that when your milk comes in your breasts increase dramatically in size, so for some people that may prevent them wearing their normal shirts straight away.
I would definately go for comfort post-birth though and def the bonds pants a must, they can be slept in or walked around in during the day etc. :)
GL at delivery xx:)
Thank you im 23 weeks and ive been told by ob to start packing hospital bag.. given hospital is 2 hours drive..
i agree bonds pants and bonds maternity singlets.. etc.. i just didnt want to sit in pj's all day.. how depressing! haha
thanks for your advise :)
I'm glad this thread was started as i've been so curious about weight gain.
I started this pregnancy at 80kg. I was sick from 8-18 weeks, and now at 22 weeks I've only gained 2.5kg although from about 11-12 weeks I no longer fit into any of my pre-pregnancy pants.
As I was overwight to start with my Ob said she would be happy if I didn't gain any weight at all which I can honestly say, did not make me very happy. All in all I think I'm doing ok. I'm eating pretty much whatever I like, with Ice-cream being a MASSIVE craving of mine!
I went on the preg calculator website which told me I'd put on 6.8kg, so I'm interested to see how acurate that is!
Wow 2hrs Amsta!! I thought mine was far being 35mins away
i have heard during labour that you will loose some fluid and blood which will mean u will loose weight in hospital.. if that helps.
mind you this is my first bub but my sister inlaw lost like 10 kgs in hospital.
i agree would love to know more bout the whole weight gain thing..
i don't think there is any set amount of weight you should or shouldn't gain. from 17-25weeks i gained 2.5kg (the first gain after losing about 10kg to start out) from 25-29 weeks, i lost half a kilo. go figure! baby is definitely growing and so is my tum, so i must be losing it from other parts of me... i was bigger to start with, so no one is concerned with the loss.
the average gain is about 6-13kg i think, but it really is variable depending on what happens in your circumstances. we had bushfire here the weekend before Black Saturday, and i'll admit in the weeks since then, my eating habits have deteriorated compared to first tri, but i still managed to lose weight in that time, so i'd say it's about your metabolism (and that of the bubba!)
With regards to the hospital clothes.... I totally agree about the pyjamas and wanting to be able to wear proper clothes. I am thinking stretchy things also, and probably will also have some maternity clothes that aren't too big as they should still be comfy also.....
I am 23 weeks and so far I have gained 11 pounds.
I put on about 3 kg during my pregnancy. Claire was 2.9 kg, lol.
Hi everyone,
thanks for the posts I have had at times horrible morning sickness so the doctor has me checking that I am not losing weight unlike the usual checking weight put on. I have been quite worried about this but after reading your messages plucked up the courage to jump on the scales again and am happy to report at 16 weeks I am back up to my pre pregnancy weight YAY!!! 58kg (dropped to 54kg at one stage)
I am working on putting on another 1-2kg before my 22 week appointment fingers crossed.
I must say its quite funny when my Husband is celebrating each time I keep a meal down (he is going to be a fantastic Dad especially when it comes to encouraging our little one)
xo:D
This thread is great. So interesting to see how different pregnancies can be!
I had an OB appt this morning and I've actually lost the only kilogram I've gained so far!! I'm back to my pre-pregnancy weight of 60kgs. I have a nice little bump and a lot of my clothes are getting tighter (I wear mat pants most of the time now) so my DH and I were quite shocked. My OB wasn't concerned at all as bubs is very healthy and growing rapidly so I'm happy with that. I just found it funny though as I'm normally a bit of a gym and health-food nazi and I've always worked my butt off to lose or maintain weight. Now that I'm pregnant I'm more relaxed about gaining weight, eating what I want and not exercising as much and I manage to lose weight! Go figure! :dunno:
I can so relate to that! Having HG, my poor DH was always shattered to see me dropping kilos while doctors were telling me "Morning sickness is normal in pregnancy"... yeah, but in the third trimester??????
Having the Maxolon now, DH buys me little treats every week because "I can actually enjoy them now". Its so sweet.
Well at almost 21 weeks pregnant, I have gained another kilo!! Had my Ob appoint yesterday, and I am now weighing in at 56kgs. Pre-pregnancy was 52kgs. Yikes!
Still doing waaay better than my first pregnancy though, hoping to not get above 60s this time. Will see..
Taurean, I am the same... I put on weight (not much) in the first few weeks of pregnancy and have now lost that plus more! Lol but I am heavier than 60kg... I am currently 86.5kgs was 87kg pre-pg and then went up to 87.6kg then went down to 86.6kg during a four week period and then four weeks after than I am 86.5kg and eating like a horse. Prior to pregnancy I was trying to lose weight (gym, watching what I ate - no junk) but with my PCOS was struggling... now I am eating pretty much anything in sight, haven't been to the gym and have cancelled my membership, lay on the lounge cause most of the time I feel crud and the weight is going down :dunno: either
Taurean, yep as long as bubs gets what they need I don't mind if I shed a few kilos... might end up a healthier weight than I was pre-pg!
