How regular does you bub kick/move?

Was interested in how often you feel movement/kicks from your baby?

I didnt feel anything til 20 weeks, and now, i feel it constantly through the day. I was concerned as to why it was moving around so often, and my doc said as long as you feel it once every 12 hours, everything is alright.

But i feel it every ten minutes on most days. Sometimes it is a defined kick, other times, more a turning movement.

Please shed some light on your experiences.

As you know from our BB group I have been feeling this bubs movements for a while now.

Its not a constant all the time thing I guess it depends on bubs position (facing in or outwards) and whether bub is resting or not. LIke you I get a variety of feelings from stronger kicks and punches to a rolly feeling.

I wouldn't be concerned if bub was moving heaps hun that is a very reassuring thing, I would be concerned if I felt nothing for a long time.

If bub goes quiet try to cough a few times this often gets my bub wriggling.

I've been feeling bubs move since 17 weeks. Most often in the evening when I'm just relaxing.

I haven't felt any movement though in the last 3 days or so. Does anyone think this is reason to worry??

Soulful, your baby could be faced inwards so all the movement goes inside rather than to the outside. If you are worried call your OB and get them to check all is ok. There is no such thing as being too careful when it comes to your baby.

doc said to feel for a kick or movement once every 12 hours. Maybe your bub is kicking whilst you are sleeping.
Im not sure if 3 days is a long time, do you feel any movements whatsoever?

ive been feeling my little gem move for about 3 weeks.. i feel her all through out the day, and at nigth as well. The last few nights i sprawl on the couch and i gently tickle my belly and she starts poking me like crazy hehe. I dont know if its coincidence or not but its still really awesome. The last few nights ive had a really hard time sleeping, and she's still kicking around at 2 in the morning lol. I think most times i wake her tho through my coughing fits hehe. So i usually try to hold off coz i dont want to startle her.

If i hadnt felt her move for 3 days, i think id at least call my doc, but im such a worry wart lol.

    Hi First Time Mummy
I don’t agree with your Doc. I suggest that all is normal if you feel 10 movements in 24 hours.

    Soulful
if you have had NO movement in 3 days then it would be a good idea to get things checked. There could be a couple of reasons that you have not felt your baby move as NaeNae said it could be due to the position of your baby it could also be due to the position of the placenta. If your placenta is anterior (at the front of your uterus) then it is quite common not to feel the movements as much as you would if your placenta is at the back of your uterus. Another possibility is that you are getting used to the movements and therefore don’t notice them as much as you did when they first started.
