Anyone else experiencing this? How long does it last for?
I've been over the flu I had for a week now and I lost my tastebuds then which is quite normal when you have a cold/flu, but I still don't have them back and am thinking it's a pregnancy thing....
It's driving me nuts because everything tastes so bland, like cardboard. Yuk! Chocolate doesn't taste sweet. The only thing that really fires up my tastebuds is a REALLY HOT curry!
I'm hoping it doesn't last too much longer. I want to enjoy my food again!
I was just reading an article that was on iron and pregnancy and i knew that to much iron can be made for you but it said if u have to high amount each day in your multi V that it can prevent Zinc absorption and that can cause slow wound healing , loss of taste and smell.
i don't know if this is it or even close but i cant think of why else this would happen , as i only know of the metallic taste you get in the first few weeks of pregnancy
My DH (who isn't pregnant himself), has had a cold for a week or so, and he's still complaining that he can't taste anything, so might have to do with the virus you had, rather than prg.
I'm also not familiar with loss of taste in pg, but then we're all very different, so def not discounting it as a symptom.
