    maternity jeans any suggestions

    Hi All,

I've finally had to admit defeat with my pre pg jeans and now can't wear them even undone with a belly band ...LOL

I normally have heaps of trouble finding jeans to fit as pre pg I was size 8 waist and 14-16 hips.

So high waisted looks ridiculous and my ar$e hangs out of low rise hipsters ... not a good look once your over 16

Any suggestions of somewhere to get nice maternity jeans??

    TIA All

I got mine from Kmart and they are cheap and comfy. The only thing that is annoying with these (not sure if its the same as other brands) but the elastic inside the band can get twisted and I have to go around and even it all out again. Now I just iron the band straight and it stays like that until I was them again.
    Good luck.

I've inherited my sister's mat jeans and they are great - Szabo brand. They're stretchy with the long lycra belly band instead of elastic with buttons that you move, so I reckon they'd be good for any shape.

Not sure where she got them though! Sorry! Melbourne somewhere - I think Grattan St maybe!

I have a pair that I love from Pumpkin Patch. They're a great shape for me, and I usually find it hard to get jeans that suit me at the best of times. It's probably a matter of trying on lots of pairs until you find one that suits your shape.

But they are sooo much more comfortable than regular jeans. I've been in mat jeans since I was 13 weeks pg, there is no way I could fit into my old ones now, belly band or not!

i think i got my old ones from big W or kmart or target some store like that. I HATE the elastic that twists around too. i have some shorts that have elastic patches in the poket part only (from target). i probably wont be buying any jeans this time though cause the weather is warming up.

    Hi DD

I got mine from ebay from a store called "Angel's Coming". The brand name is Angel Maternity and I love them so much that I just bought a pair of 3/4 jeans from them yesterday.

What I also love about them is they are normal height at the back (not hipster or high-waisted) and white low at the front with a stretchy panel so as soon as I finish with this pregnancy (planning on it being my last one) I'm going to cut the stretchy panel from the front and wear them as normal jeans. So they look like hipster from the front but have the comfort of non-hipster at the back.

I got PP ones from a girlfriend for my first pregnancy but they were really high ones and later on in pregnancy they would just fall down anyway and be pretty uncomfy.

I have a Kmart pair too that I LOVE. They have elastic at the sides but not the whole way around. There are 2 kinds - some people like the elastic all the way around. Only around $30 and they look great! I cannot justify spending more than that on jeans that I won't wear for very long!

i have two pairs. one my mum bought for 'good jeans' because i LIVE in them. and they where from myer, they have a long licra type band that goes OVER the bump (they where a little big but i've grown into them! ) and the other is the k-mart/big W ones. with the smaller band, i gave up on trying to make the band stay so its still dubbled over...they're good with the belly belt because i've found they tend to roll back down my belly!

im going to hijack this thred and ask - where can i get good mat. shorts? kmart & target dont have any

DD, good luck with the hunt. hopefully you'll find the jeans you love!

I have inherited a pair of pumpkin patch jeans from a mate and they're great because they look like normal jeans but have the adjustable elastic and they're a good fit.

The other pair I have that are a good fit are from Ninth Moon. They're good but have a false button and zip part at the front.

Good luck finding a pair that fit!

    Hi There,

I have a smaller waist and larger hips and before pregnancy and also now after I find it so hard to find jeans that suit.

I did however fall in love with pumpkin patch jeans during pregnancy, they are a bit more on the expensive side but I think well worth it, the ones I got have an elastic waist, sounds bad but you cannot tell. I also got some knee length demin pants from PP also and I am still wearing them now, you cannot even tell that they are maternity pants.

    Good luck in your hunt!
