    Panadol- help!

I have had unbearable back pain for 2 days now. I have been taking 2 panadol, or one panadol and one mersyndol, and it stops the pain for 2 hours, then the next 2 hours I spend crying in pain wating for the next dose.

Im going to the dr tommorow morning, but is it ok to keep taking the panadol? Pretty sure I have reached the max amount of panadol today, but the pain is truly unbearable, and I need to take something.

Could taking a couple more panadol than recommended a day do something really bad to my baby?

If the pain is really bad and you trust your pharamist pop down and ask them if there anything stronger that is safe to take during pregnaccy. I think you can go up to panadiene. I would not exceed the recomended dose of any meds. The phamasist will be able to help you until you see the dr.
    Good luck

Skye you need a heat pack (wheat pack) on your back!! Those things work wonders for me! I have had excruciating (at times) lower back pain with sciatica since being pregnant (nerve pain) and it can be so bad for me and i find that helps!
i don't like taking panadol when pregnant even though it's safe, only taken it twice.

Have you got access to a heat pack? That will sure help. I hope! Hope ur better soon!

you poor thing. In reality, a couple of extra panadol today is not likely to cause any long term effect to you or your unborn child. It is however, not recommended. If your back is causing you that much pain, panadol is not likely to be the solution you need. I would suggest an after hours doc or even a trip to Emergency so you can get something for the pain for now and also some appropriate advice on long term management for the remainder of your pregnancy... you don't want to have to go through this longer than you need to - I've had bad back pain and it is AWFUL!
