Hi my friend is not far over 15 weeks and I just recieved this txt off of her,
"I dont know what to make of this... And i am worried i never took much notice when it was faint in colour and texture but i noticed a thick green discharge and have been having alot of crampings not overly painful but noticibly there!! I thinking i should go see a doctor...let me know if you have any more information. I could really use some advice."
I think it may be some of the mucous plug which worries me a hell of a lot. Does anyone else have any information that you can share?
She has been TTC for over a year before finally getting UTD.
I am her support person and will be there for the birth but right now she is Pannawonica, Western Australia (basically in the middle of nowhere). She has no computer at the moment and there are no hospitals near her as far as I know so right now I am the only one able to ask for advice as she cannot. She does have a DP but right now he is useless, he doesn't even get the enormity of being pregnant and when she has morning sickness his attitude is like "suck it up" so he is no help atm.
Please if anyone has any advice let me know ASAP I have already sent her a message telling her to go see a doctor but I sent it in a non alarming way as to not upset her with how worried I actually am
could just be thursh, but it doesnt sound good if she is also in pain, If I was her I would be going to the closest hospital or doctors to get checked out...
I have been losing plug from very early on in this pregnancy and lose bits most weeks, but it hasn't been associated with pain, so we are just monitoring the amount, and the longer my cervix has gotten the amount has reduced, I am being monitored for an Incompetant Cervix. My OB advised if I lose any and there is pain to immediatly call her. I also lost bits with DD from 15 weeks.
I think she really needs to see her Dr, see if she can save some of the discharge, if she doesn't have a sample pot, perhaps use a new zip lock bag to collect it, they may be able to test it and see if that is what it is.
Has she said how much, like the size of it?
Take care and I hope she can get in and see someone very soon, resting up as much as possible, taking the pressure off her cervix by elevating the bottom half of her body xxoo
I would have thought that if it was green it would be something other thant the Mucuus plug as isnt the Mucuus plug a browny/pinky even red colour/discharge.
It is normal to get weird looking discharge during pregnancy and for it to be clumpy. Also it could be just normal aches and pains - though if its quiet painful and down low i would go get looked at and asses by a doctor or pregnancy unit at the hospital.
She finally took my advice and seen a doctor, th heart beat is strong but they are sending her for an U/S in Karratha tomorrow just tp make sure. I will pass on all your hugs and well wishes and also your number Alan. Thank you.
Depending on the colour green it is, my first thought was infection. I had some bright green mucousy discharge with my second baby who sadly passed away at 17 weeks (infection and most likely cause of passing was an electric shock). Hoping that if it is an infection they have got to it quickly and it all goes smoothly now.
If it is mucous plug, that's not a bad thing on it's own. I lost mine very early on with Tristan and continued to lose it until he was born. Mucous plug can and does re-generate.
I'm glad you asked this as I was going to post something similar tonight. I lost a tiny bit of something the other night, about a 20c piece worth, then some about the size of a 5c piece the next morning.
I've been thinking about it ever since. Instinct tells me it could be some of my plug, but I'm just paying a bit more attention. I have no idea what it means or if I should be worried or not. That night I did have some horrible back pain, but nothing since, so I'm assuming all is ok.
Alan - should I worry? I feel like all is ok. I'm just paranoid. If I do lose it, is it inevetable that labour could happen early, or is there still the strong possibility that I'll go to term, or more, as I have with my other 3?
