No movements - when do I start to panic (like I'm not already!!)

I have a very active little bub. I feel her all through the day on and off just a kick here and there, and then much more extended movement at night when I'm trying to get to sleep.

I haven't felt anything since lunch time. Nothing. I've been lying quietly as well as doing stuff. I've drunk two huge glasses of ice water, eaten an ice cream and had a handful of jellybeans to try and get something. I've got a massive sugar headache so there's no way she's not feeling the sugar too.

When is long enough that I should start to genuinely worry? What do I do?

Have you tried 'jiggling' your tummy or having a fizzy drink? Perhaps go to the hospital if you are feeling really anxious

HI gorgeous lady. I want you to sit down, relax and have another ice cold fizzy drink or eat some ice-cream and see if that makes your princess jump around. Another trick we use is to call your belly - weird I know. Place your mobile phone on your belly, call it and leave it to ring out on your tummy.
If she doesn't and you are comfortable to I'd give it to the morning and see if you have felt any movements BUT if you are too uncomfortable to wait why not pop down to your hospital and have you and bub checked out. I always give the advice to come in because it is such a relief to hear bub's heart beat and go home relaxed knowing everything is ok rather than stress about it.
When is bub's normal really active period?
    Sending lots of hugs.

Ideally, try not to panic at all! Easier said than done. Everyone else has said what I wanted to; if you're feeling too uncertain to wait though, call or go in now.

I wouldn't wait until morning if you are worried and if you have already tried tried the cold drinks etc.
Ring your midwives and ask if you can come in - chances are the second you lie down on the examination bed she will wake up and go crazy and you'll feel like a doofus but that is better than spending the whole night worrying.

Thanks so much ladies. Just got a couple of really big boots so I guess that means she's ok. Maybe she's having a quiet day after my really busy day yesterday?

I hate this feeling of helplessness and stress. I think I need a shrink more than I need an OB!

Thanks again for the support. Dan - love you!

I brought this up with my OB at my last appointment and he told me not to worry too much, the baby will have low and high energy days like the rest of us. After 3 days of little movement I've been getting heaps today. Glad she's back to herself

It can be hard to not panic I know! One trick I do if bubs is being quiet is to sit or lie in a position in which I know she always moves.

Glad she gave you some reassurance hun. I would give my middies a quick call whenever I was worried and they would give me some reassurance when I was worried too. (Just like Dan did )
J once did that, he was SO active all the time, and then I had about an hour and a half one day of nothing, Iwas eating ice-cream and cold drinks, cold flannels etc. nothing and was about to go in when he obviously decided it was time to wake up. If you are still worried today, or movements are different to normal I would give them a quick buzz xoxxoxoxo
