Question Pins & needles. and...growing pains?

i know pins and needls can happen if you lay on your back...or right side ( i only know this now because i read another post on the bb about this in yoga..)...this NEVER happend to me untill last early thismoring. i often lay on my right side and thismoring i woke up with pins and needles in my right arm, is this normal around now? (i'm guessing my ticker says around 23ish weeks?)

the other pains is when i got thease pins and needles in my arm my round ligerment (sp?) felt as if it was going to snap! the part near the bottem of my bump and where my leg conncets to my hip was like "ARRRGH" kinda pain...so i rolled over onto my left side and it went away after a few moment or three...its happend once or twice before but that was in 1st tri- am i growing again?

are both of these normal? i know it sounds really odd to ask, but im asking becuase a) i'm a first time mum and b) google sucks, all i could find was stuff from the USA that didnt make much sence at all to me...
but non the less i know i have to sleep on my left side and what not, with a pillow (that seems to make it harder to sleep!

soo wise ladies (and gents) of the BB what can i do? other then attacking my matress with some kind of blade and cutting out a hole for my belly so i can sleep on my belly once again?

The pins & needles in your arms.... Were they in your wrists / hands? If they were it is more than likely Carpal Tunnel Syndrome. It's painful & annoying, generally getting worse as you progress through the pregnancy sadly. The only thing you can do is try to keep your hands active & sleep with them elevated on a cushion, but if it gets worse you may need splints for sleeping.

Hi baby_blip...23 weeks is definitely a growing time when the weight of the baby starts to be a little bit more obvious to your poor ligaments. I also wake up in the night from sore muscles when they are straining to support the bump.

I have found a pillow between the knees really helps, or placing it under you top knee when you lie on the side, that way you kinda feel like you're lying on your tummy, because the bump is supported by the bed. You can also get pregnancy pillows that go under the bump, or better still, long curvy pillows that contort to support just about everything!

For the pins and needles, are you getting them every night, or just occassionally? I find sometimes its just from lying in the same position (because let's face it there's only a few ways to lie down these days). If you get it all the time and its prolonged you may need to check its not carpal tunnel syndrome (although this isn't usually common until later in pregnancy, but its worth checking).
