With Annabelle I read, sang and listened to mozart (we still do all of these ) Annabelle is a VERY smart little girl and way ahead of her yrs (old soul ) I put some of it down to those things I did from word go
Read ANYTHING thats what we do. Go with 'pretty' stories, fairytales etc
I read to Liebling in the womb before he could hear me! I read anything appropriate - I think I read him Anne of Green Gables as well as When We Were Very Young and Alice In Wonderland. We didn't have many baby books LOL. We also did loads of songs - not just The Owl and the Pussycat or the Fishy song but also normal music. I played the piano a lot to him and DS loves playing the piano now.
Liebling has wonderful language skills - many other parents comment on how clear his language is. He's a great communicator. Not sure if it's womb-reading or not but I can tell you it doesn't hurt and it starts you talking to your baby, which certainly does help in the long run.
I'm reading to Peanut every night. At the moment it's just one book called "You're all my favourites". It's so very cute and makes me feel connected to my little one. When DH comes home I'm going to let him read to Peanut so that Peanut gets to know his voice. Can't wait.
