    Real Birth Footage

Girls I don't know what I was thinking when I did a Google search for real birth footage. I guess I was just curious having never experienced or seen a birth before. At first I was shocked and thinking to myself, 'what have I got myself in for, how am I going to do that' but mind you I was in tears as I watched the baby arrive and saw the reaction of the parents when they were handled their baby. I guess I am glad I saw this footage as it is helping me prepare my mind what is going to happen in just 5 months time. I would rather be prepared than rudely shocked!

If you wan to check it out and make sure you have a box of tissues before you click the link below!

We had a camera set up out of the way for the birth of our daughter. Photos are one thing but the video is just that much better. The first cry always brings tears to my eyes (we also taped her first cry on our mini recorder) It is such a precious thing to have and look back on. And I think (well hope) she will cherish it when she is bigger

I wouldn't be too happy with that OB though. For a bit there I didn't think he was going to hand her over to Mum

It was a nice calm birth though and it gave me a sniffle or 2

Must admit I thought the same thing. I think he liked being on TV! Yes I think she had a Epidural...

Typical American birth though... No skin-to-skin contact, ob does all the 'work' (apparently), epidural, episiotomy (did you hear him say 'I just have to make a little more room here') and all that suctioning once the baby was born!

No way would I want him for my delivery!

opps have to watch it again I don't think I recognised the suctioning...
So typically what is different to an American birth to an Aussie birth (besides the beer in the fridge)?

I didn't think of her having an epidural. I was calm like that for my first and it was drug free.

Awwwww! And didn't look scary at all. I can't wait! Raven - I know what you mean about the OB - I would hope the baby would be put straight on mum's chest, that's what I'd like.
