I am getting quite bad sciatica on my left hand side and lower back pain. I get some lower back pain sometimes anyway but since being pregnant, I seem to have also developed sciatica too.
I know that this is quite normal but what can I do about it? I am having my baby at the Mater Mothers in Brisbane and they offer free physio sessions, do you think that this would help? Or is that the wrong discipline to be using?
I get acupuncture weekly and she tried to treat this the other day but it seems to have actually exacerbated it. Hmmm......

Id be definently going to see your Gp and asking for a referel to see a physio they can do wonders and also for the time being try to rest and relax as much as possible to stop the pain from flairing up

Take the physio, and also ask about things like sitting positions and stuff... I find mine is worse with a day on the office chair, and better if I do a few hours on the fit ball...
Get the physio to also give you some leg stretches, as I know mine is caused in part by my really tight leg muscles, and if I give a good stretch at night it can help, but it has to be the right stretch IYKWIM...
Hope you get some relief, as sciatic pain is not fun and you dont want it to turn into anything worse... xo
