I am currently 14 weeks pregnant and am experiencing a very very itchy vajayjay.
I have tried putting natural yoghurt on to help sooth/cool it (which kind of helps short term), and am drinking Yakult (as apparently the cultures in it are good to help with thrush type symptoms). But the underlying itchy symptoms remain and it's driving me insane!!!!
Sorry if this is a bit too much information and a bit personal and I hate even typing this. It's not thrush with no associated discharge - just a bit red and obviously irritated.
I would really appreciate hearing back from anyone who has experienced this with pregnancy and what you found to be helpful.
have u seen a dr or gyno regarding this??? just to check it defenetly is not thrush, i suffered with thrush in my pregnancy but i just treated it when it would just start and then it was gone. It was never the smelly kind of thrush.... Im no professional so i figured treat it if it goes away then great then we know it was thrush good luck !!
Thrush can be asymtpomatic and Canesten CREAM is safe to use, provided you don't use the applicator. The pessaries are a no no though. Vagisil is safe to use also and is directed at a more generalised "itch" than just thrush.
If its not thrush, some ways of reducing your itchyness are:
Avoid tight clothing i.e. stockings; gstrings; tight knickers; jeans
Avoid synthetic material i.e. non-cotton knickers
Also during this hot weather, it could be bacteria from excess perspiration "down there" and wearing a panty liner, changed regularly, may help.
