So I just had my first us at 13+6 yesterday and right at the end they switched to 4d and we got some printouts. On the pictures you can see a bit of a bump at the genital area. I thought I heard a conversation somewhere about which way the bump points predicting gender and wondered if anyone knows which way is for girls and which for boys? We won't go and find out for sure at the morphology scan but it would be nice to have a hint even if it doesn't get confirmed.
So girls anyone know what's what with these bumps?
Google angle of the dangle that might tell you which way the lump goes for boy vs girl. My bubs gender was evident at my 12+5week scan. Definately girlie bits and that didn't change.
We were told up for a boy and down for a girl, but no assurance of being correct at this stage. Our bub was pointing down which will most likely mean girl.
Thanks girls. There is a pretty obvious little nub there on the 4d scan although it is with the baby in a sort of sitting position rather than the laying down position that they mention online. That being said the nub looks to point down so I will be expecting a girl I think. Nice to have a clue. I think I have a little sense of disappointment so it is better to deal with that now and move on to enjoying the thought of another baby girl. If by a miracle we get a boy we will just be happily surprised.
Bella, it's exactly the same for us. Despite the swaying, we're now expecting to be told it's a girl in four weeks. I have now tried to look at all the positives in two little girls - DD will be delighted and will get to have a sister, which a big part of me does want for her. Two little girls will bring a synergy to our family, we're comfortable with all the things another girl will probably want to follow her big sister into (although if she doesn't that would be fine too). I keep reminding myself when they're grown up how great it will be to have two daughters to be close to.
