So paranoid about not feeling any movements. :(

So this is my fourth child, fourth prgnancy. With all of the others I had been feeling movements regularly between 12-14week. This time, nothing... I am getting so paranoid! I am 17 weeks and I still haven't felt my baby move!!! What is going on!! I have heard the heartbeat at my appointments, I have seen bubs on the U/S moving around at 12 week, BUT since then I still haven't felt anything!!! I thought you were supposed to feel them move earlier, not later.

Has anyone else been in the situation where they haven't felt the movement for ages in a later pregnancy but had felt them much earlier in previous pregnancies??

I know all my other pregnancies the placenta was posteria. I have no idea about the placenta this time (the U/S tech didn't say in her report). I know that may account for some of it. I am still getting all the pregnancy symptoms, and definitely look the part, But I cann't help worrying that something has happened and I'm just not aware of it.

WHY CANN"T I FEEL MY BABY?!?!?

Big hugs. Its stressful, isn't it?

Please go into your local maternity and get checked out if you're worried.

Your placenta might be anterior? I didn't feel the girls until I was over 20 weeks.

I was going to say the same. It sounds like that could be the case. Try not to worry

I would say it is your placenta. Also, how heavy are you? Generally the larger you are the later you feel movements apparently.
if you are concerned, contact the hospital, but I personally wouldn't be too worried til after 20 weeks xox

I think it must be the placenta, because there is no other reason. I don't know where my placenta is, I will be asking at my 20week u/s, but I'm hoping I;ve felt movements by then. One of my friends had a theory that maybe there was more room in my uterus this time round (having been 'stretched' out the previous times), not sure about that idea... My weight is reasonable, I'm a size 12-14. My first pregnancy, I felt movements at 14 weeks, I was starting out that pregnancy in the obese catagory (30kgs over my healthy BMI).

Sigh. I guess this is God's way of making things 'interesting' and proving (once again) that every pregnancy is different.

With this pregnancy I have an anterior placenta and 21 weeks in still hadn't felt anything. I remember at my 21 week appt after my 20 week scan the midwife using the handheld doppler and us hearing all these bashes on the mic and the midwife raised an eyebrow at me and said "you really can't feel that?". And then she laughed and said "he's very active, trust me in 2 more weeks you'll be begging to come back to this point when you can't feel him!"
And she was right, 2 weeks later and even still now I am feeling non stop kicks and punches and elbows and knees!

Misty I SO know how you feel, its driving me crazy
As you know this is # 2 for us and with first I didnt feel anything until about 20 weeks
With this one I *thought* I was feeling flutters a few weeks ago... but my 'bump' seems to have 'dropped' and I dont feel anything atm... I have even been comfortable to lay on my tummy partially again. So I was very stressed. Went to the Obs last week and bubs was fine, jumping around and strong heartbeat. She did say bubs seemed to be down low, so maybe this is why?
I have started to wonder if I have anterior placenta too. Only 2.5 weeks until the 19/20 week scan and hopefully will have more answers then

funny you mention still being comfortable to sleep on your belly - me too. I try to stay propped on my side (JIC) but somehow always wake up on my belly.

I understand your worries - I am 16wks with #3 and I haven't felt movement yet! Ive been starting to get concerned too, as I felt movement really early on with my other two, and I am in the same weight range...

Hopefully in the next few weeks we'll both be getting woken in the night with bug kicks
