Have a question, I woke up this morning and my areolas are all hard and swollen, is this normal????? It seems a little strange that one day they are fine and the next they are all puffy and hard. It also appears some parts of the areola are more swollen than others....They are also very store to touch, any comments would be appreaciated.
i have not experienced this myself but if you are really concerned ring your midwife and ask better to be safe than sorry i say. Hope gets better soon.

This is my first post over here - I was about to ask the same Q. Every morning when I wake my right areola is swollen (and tender) to the extent that the bumps (Montgomery's tubules) are dimples and my nipple is flat flat flat. It seems to resolve during the day when I have a bra on. It makes me concerned that I may have problems with this bb and breastfeeding.
I haven't spoken to my Dr about it, I'll have to at my next appt. It's been going on for about the last 6 weeks.
